  • Apple announced the new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors and there is a lot to consider! Will these new processors surprise us like the original M1 that launched this time last year?
While most people won't need many of these upgrades, let's discuss the key differences between the two processors, CPU, GPU, bandwidths and memory options. The newly upgraded XDR display will be great for editing and consuming HDR content on the go.

Thanks so much for this informative video.
I need some advice still... I am a graphic designer, work mostly on 2D, no animation but I work on large files on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
I have ordered the new 16 Inch Macbook Pro with M1 Max processor, 32 GB Ram and 1TB SSD. Now after doing more research I am thinking about exchanging to the M1 Pro processor with 32 GB Ram as well and put that $400 difference into 2 TB SSD. Any advice? Thank you!

Hi Patrycja and thank you for the question! I think for your workflow, either configuration would suffice. You may not actually need the M1 Max, especially if you aren't doing a lot of 3D. I actually do a lot of 4K editing and have been doing okay on just the 512 GB SSD with the standard M1 MacBook from last year. Typically, I copy my work off to an external device to save space. I think the M1 Max makes the most sense if you are going to connect 3 or 4 external displays and/or you are performing a lot of really power intensive workflows, such as 3D modeling or processing a lot of complex video effects. Also, it may depend on how long you intend to keep the laptop. I' may be getting the M1 Max and I plan to keep it for a 6 year rotation cycle. Hope this advice helps! I'm sure you will be happy with either selection :)

@@EricCosner So for my case I will not be using multiple external displays, maybe one if any. So in that case M1 Pro would be enough but.. like you said I plan to keep that MacBook for many years even 6 like you ( I am transitioning from 2015 MacBook Pro that I have purchased used in 2018). So Im thinking in 3-4 years M1 Max chip will be something everyone will have and I will be there stuck with M1 Pro :D and yeah copying files to external drive is a pain! Thanks for your response!

    Remember the logo?
The apple with the bite taken out?
A thousand Years of darkness, with distorted humans who cannot die though they wish they could.
