  • A simple and reliable way to repair a loose strap button on a guitar or bass. Here I repair the loose Schaller S Lock strap buttons on a Sire V7 Bass. You can also drill the area out and plug the hole with a dowel rod and redrill, but the method I am showing here works well and is much easier for most people to do on their own. I think it is important to be able to do your own basic guitar repairs, and I hope this video is helpful. Thanks for watching!

    will it work without glue?

Toothpicks are pretty soft so I'm not sure it would hold too well without the glue. If the strap button hole is too big, you can also drill it out for a hardwood dowel and glue that in and redrill for the pickguard screw.
