The biggest issue a lot of KDP Low content and medium content book publishers on Amazon have is coming up with ideas for what books to actually publish. It can feel overwhelming, with the amount of information on Amazon, to actually know where to start and how to go about finding and choosing a KDP niche. I take you step by step through the initial phases of efficiently doing research on Amazon and creating a spreadsheet of book ideas to publish. This provides a great starting point to then going on to choose what book to create and building your online business.

I really love that you're revisiting some important topics. For me, it confirms that you still find that the programs and/or methods remain valid. Admittedly, I have made a few covers, but zero content because I'm still trying to figure out which program works best on a Mac.
I'm sure you don't need any advice on how to monetize your channel, but I would love to see you do a weekly (or even monthly) live show where you present a brief, but timely topic and then answer some questions. I know I would happily pay a few dollars for you to answer one of my questions on the spot.
Thank you too. That's very much appreciated. I used to make all my interiors on a Mac with Adobe Illustrator. I now mainly use Affinity Designer. Thank you for the suggestion. I've thought about doing a regular live show and is something that's on my list to look at more closely.

I noticed that some people are selling their wordsearch books on KDP for $2.99. They are destroying the market and leaving no profit margin.
Are you sure they are published via KDP?

I'm afraid I don't at the moment. I have done in the past but that was about 9 years ago and my memory of the process is a bit rusty! But when I do return to it, I'll certainly post some content.
A bit off topic question…but I’ve received a few reviews lately complaining of the “quality of paper”-saying it’s thin and bleeds through- have you dealt with that issue? Is it depending on where Amazon is having it printed, or is it just super picky people? I’ve gotten some of my coloring books to see how they are, and they always seem okay to me. (I always only use one sided printing). It just bothers me that this negative review is not based on anything in my control. Thanks for being a good go to resource for KDP!
I've never had problems and yes, books that I've ordered always seem good qulaity. I know others have mentioned this issue so maybe quality varies between batches of paper they use. Also take into account, yes, picky people and I'm sure some may use a brand of pen that runs ink more. Lots of factors but, as you say, out of our control.
Somebody once suggested to ask Amazon to remove those reviews which are not your fault.
I like your videos, but please kill the background music track. It is distracting and makes it difficult to understand if you have a hearing problem.
Love your videos, Paul. Are you exclusive to low content? Most of the stuff coming out on RUclips is for low content. How about videos focused on fiction writing?
Yes, at the moment it's just low/ medium content. Fiction and non-fiction publishing maybe a possibility in the future.
Do the search terms change in Amazon KDP? I started looking at hunting coloring books in August and not much came up, but now there are many that pop up with the same search words. Is this because it's hunting season so more people are looking for these coloring books or because Amazon did something with its search results or both?
I have been doing better picking titles that now pop up on the first page if not the first place on search results.
I'm not sure. More likely Amazon was doing something with the searches.
If you do not search in the incognito mode, Amazon will next taylor its results based on your search history.
How do you make the patterns? I want to make a picture book for my grandson.

Hi Paul can you explain how taxes work for UK authors doing KDP please. I believe Amazon in the US take taxes for books sold, do we then also have to pay tax on royalties in the UK?
Uk has a tax treaty with the US. If you fill out the W8-BEN form in your account in the KDP dashboard they will not withold any tax. You pay taxes on the royalties you receive.

Apparently it's the paid elements you cannot use. But it's all very confusing.

Yes, it's possible.
If we create a medium content book, can we also upload it onto ekindle?
Most are not really suitable for Kindle as most need to be written on.
Pls I have a question how can you find out which low content books are in demand because I used the right keywords till now no sale the annoying aspect is that I saw a low content book that had no designed elements on the front cover just written words on it😔

Amazon doesnt even upload the book back cover anymore? Is this for all books or only low content books? No more look inside and no more back covers?
How long have you left it. Sometimes the back cover takes a while to appear. There is no more Look INside features for low content books that are published without an ISBN.

I type in "kids book" and they are all classic and written books, best sellers basically by rank. There are no low content books I can see.
