It is Demri's car...
Get a 4.6 stroker like Matt is putting in Dejablue. It's a straightforward drop in. Make that little thing a screamer instead of a turbo LS death trap.
You haven't lived until you've driven a 304 V8 Pacer!
Randall amc, a dealership in Arizona, was selling 401 powered pacers that would get into the 13s in the quarter mile.... Literally frightening to ride in.... because they don't like anything over 80....and with the super short wheelbase, and the soft spring rate, when my buddy would do doughnuts, it felt like the rear quarter panel was Dragging on the ground.
@@ryurc3033reminds me of my buddies in college driving their crawler cherokees with no sway bars and soft suspension on the streets. You'd look out the passenger window on a left turn and see pavement 😂 a little scary
Demry makes every video better. Love her sense of humor. You guys are a perfect match.
Definitely do a Wayne's World replica! Someone already suggested keeping the 6 cylinder and just adding a hair drier to it. That would by my advise too. Have fun with it!
I agree, keep the engine, add turbos and make the paint job match Wayne's World, that would be a cool car to drive around and take to shows in
Just a thought. Put it on the road for the Boss then fully redo it for Lincoln's first car. He'd be the coolest kid in High School.
I loved how Demri gave Robby the side eye at the end, while looking straight at him !
EZ Wider sponsored a Pacer in SCCA racing in the 70s. Check out that paint job !
A 6'4", 300 lb mab can lay down in the back comfortably, with the rear seat folded down.
This has to be in my top 5 favorite videos. You all are awesome to watch, and the ear to ear smile on everyone's face is priceless
Its all about the test drive, I laffed so hard 😂
A friend of mine bought one of these new when they first came out, he drove the crap out of it and hated the car. He never changed the oil but added oil as it would get low. The car quit after 97,000 miles!
Thank you for a great laugh of the car being in reverse. I needed it. Happy it runs
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Thank you for showing "The Boss" again! Demri is VERY photogenic, highly entertaining, and has a wicked sense of humor.
no kidding pal, freaking gorgeous
she is an absolute FOX!!!!!!!!
We need a Demri lingerie calendar for the merch store. Robby could retire!!
Demri is SMOKIN' !! If you could bottle her giggle and sell it, Robby could retire.
FOXY LADY
and robbie goes and leaves her alone to go have fun with a pile of rocks...
I never owned an AMC vehicle but I DID own a 1974 Ford Pinto (with the exploding gas tank); to make matters worse after the OEM tires wore out at 20K miles I put on a set of Firestone 721 self-exploding radial tires. We didn't know . . . Angels and Ministers of Grace Defend Us. Hamlet Act 1, Scene 4 . Now, 50 years later ALL my family (and I) are still alive. Fortunately, now-a-days neither bacon nor eggs are on the 'Instant Death' list. Now we just call them Paleo and encourage their mass consumption. As Beldar, Prymatt and Connie Conehead might hear from the Highmaster: Therefore, you will... NARFTLE THE GARTHOK!
It was the Firestone 500 that was a bad tire . The 721 replaced it
Since Demri bought the Pacer, you should let her make the decision on what to do with it. I had my husband turn mind into a 4x4. It took over a year, but I love it.
For me, this was the most entertaining half hour I've had in a very long time. Laughed my butt off from beginning to end! Thanks for making my day.
AMC 401 DANA 60s Full coil suspension. Air lockers equals desert buggy.
There was a dealership in Arizona that put together 401 pacers... Frightening having such a goofy squishy little car with a 401. My buddy got one in the 90s, and when he would do doughnuts, it felt like it was dragging the quarter panel on the ground.
I'm seventy years old now, but I've had so much fun with cars over the years. This episode really made me remember all the tinkering over the years with engines that wouldn't start. But with knowledge and stubbornness, they finally got started. My feeling is for all boys whose curiosity and playfulness are summed up in the sentence: boys will always be boys. And like the boy I am... I love it.
My mom had a red AMC Pacer that she bought new off the showroom floor, it was very roomy.
Lots of happy memories road tripping to Yosemite and Sequoia National Park ❤️🥰❤️
I had a pacer. It use to veer all over the road. The motor mounts were bad an the engine rested on the steering rack. Changed the mounts and it drove great
I think Demri did a good thing here. A lot of watchers want project builds more than the, day to day, accounts of your work adventures. A unique car, with good bones, is a great business plan for valuable content while rebuilding. So much good metal on there.
Every once in a while they just make a video that's above and beyond greatness. This was one of them.
The craziest part is we literally rushed this video because we are behind and we got it filmed yesterday!! My editor edited all night long!!!
This may be my favorite video of ALL your videos Robby! Just pure joy. This needs to be a T-shirt.
in 1977 I had a 53 willys wagon that was saved from the scrap pile. it had it's 4 cyl replaced with a straight 6 from a 55 Willys pickup. With the original fan shroud still in place we mounted the radiator and a 2 gal can for gas to the front bumper. What a site!! but great fun. I sure miss that old beast.
HELL YEAH Demry ... YOU GO GIRL....KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK.
My grandparents had two Pacers back in the day. I always had a sweet spot in my heart for those cars. Great purchase Mom!
I liked the Pacers.....Gremlins Big Brother.....
LS swap, 5 speed auto w o.d.........perfect sleeper grocery getter......LOVE IT
That has made my day!!! I literally was belly laughing out loud when the wheel fell off!!!! Best video I’ve seen anywhere in quite a while!!!! Keep it up!!! I hope you guys make an entire series with the pacer!!!
We had a ‘76 Pacer with the 258. We chopped off the top at the curve of the back side windows. It was awesome, best rabbit hunting rig ever!
My mom used to sell these. We always had a gremlin, pacer, AMX or CJ3 or 5 at home. This was by far one of my favorite videos. So fun.
This video's an instant classic... Good job everyone! Cheers from Vermont!
Love the Boss buying a project car. My Boss just picked up a project car 1947 Lincoln V-12. betting you get yours done before we get hers back on the road. Love the fun ya'll are having with the Pacer.
Can every Wednesday be a Demri video from now on? She has truly come out of her shell and adds so much to the channel.
This is why I watch you guys, chaos at its best!!
Awesome video. I laughed along with you. I agree with the 4.6 stroker idea.
The Pacer was never popular, but innovative. Those BIG doors that Robby pointed out were part of the bigger design. Wait until he notices one is bigger than the other. To this day a lot of people hate them and think they are ugly, but I LOVE them. They were unique and ahead of their time. Never owned one, but I want to more all the time. I remember when they were new.
Lol i remember those cars and the AMC Gremlins 😂.... It might be something with v6 under the hood! Love it!
Brings back memories of when I was first stationed in Germany in 1980. While I was waiting for my vehicle to arrive from the States, I would ride to work with one of my coworkers who had a Pacer. Interesting car, especially when you had to consider how it stood out in Germany (which it also did in the States). What I remember most is how roomy it was and the amount of viewing out the sides and rear. I had not remembered that from all those years ago until I watched your video here. 🙂
Pacers and gremlins are my favorites. I've had a few, and they never fail to make me smile. Awesome purchase by the boss.
That was awesome. More Pacer videos please.
Ok that was frickin awesome and so crazy entertaining!! Loved it!!!
I have been working on a 1988 ford f250 with the 5.0. Never got any back story from customer. Same issue idle ok, no CEL and popping out intake. Found out with casing number it was. High Output. 3 weeks on that. 😊
This reminded me of my first few cars, I'm 59, female. In the day, drove a GMC Hornet, then an Apollo. I knew how to open the hood and adjust the throttle to keep the engine running, esp in the cold. Miss the old cars. Peace and love
A couple fun tidbits of info.
The passenger door is longer than the drivers, encouraging people to get in/out on the sidewalk side.
Subway had an add that you could fit a 6foot sub sideways in the driver passenger seat.
OMG, that’s the exact same color mom’s Pacer was. 😮
This fan would love to see it cherry 🍒
The LS and twin turbo sounds fun, I hope you paint it the original color and make it a fun sleeper. 😁
It's an interesting car; really, it is... In 1980, I saw one in Colorado that had been mounted to a 1970's Ford Bronco chassis ... 4X4 with a view. I have seen the AMC Pacer as well as their Gremlins with a Ford's 351/390ci, Chevy's 283/327ci, and Chrysler's 318/340ci engines squeezed into the engine compartment and Borg-Warner 4speed manual transmissions... Because in the last years of AMC they borrowed from Ford, Chrysler, and GM, on could get outrageously creative in creating a "sleeper" street machine in that era.
My sister designed a car quite similar when she was in high school, minus the hood out front. It looked more like the back on both ends.
I think you need to jack it up, lose the hatch, put a boom on it. One more wrecker never hurts.
Took a photo of one in Wisconsin a few months ago. Was shocked it was not rusted to pieces.
LS with or without turbo's 4x4 (dirt every day made one and it was very impressive!) Paint, interior, Brakes, Great underappreciated vehicle.
This was a pretty cool episode. Nice detective work by the whole crew.
This is by far the most exciting project yet!!
You guys are SICK!
I had an AMC Hornet!
You brought back some sick memories!
Thank
If you have spark when cranking but not in run position, check your ballast resister for an open.
Too funny. I loved when the wheel fell off.
This video is absolutely Awesome!
I remember the first time I saw one of those. Actually I think it was three in convoy. They were on the New England Expressway possibly on either a promo tour or road test before going on sale to the public. They certainly have a unique style.
At 22:08 if you look behind Robbie on the garage door you can see a dot of light. In the day they were known as the AMC "Fishbowl" great project car.
Love the work guys and the family. Should outfit that for recovery works. AMC would be awesome tiny
When I grew up we had one that was the same exact color and everything. I also remember when my parents bought it the song on the radio was Little Old Lady From Pasadena.
Man, ive wanted one of those forever. My mom had one when i was a baby. I was too young to remember it but have seen the pictures over and over.
I'm in on this one as a AMC Fan. I got a 70 Javelin. Kinda always wanted a Gremlin with a 401. Can't remember but thought I heard that one door is slightly longer than the other on the Pacer.
5.3 LS BTR cam topped off with a Whipple 4L60 ford 9inch 513’s with locker an stuff big slicks under it
We love watching your channel been watching for a few years now love the boss
My first car was a hand me down from my Mom. A 1975 Red Pacer X. I loved that car.
Full restoration sleeper with LS twin turbo, and a sick paint job!
That Pacer is cool I built a model of one when I was a kid always wanted one . They look like a little space ship. Very cool great purchase Boss.
Absolutely hilarious 😂. I loved it when she backed out of the door. 😅
Good thing Robby’s shop is an auto body and not mechanic shop 🤪😀 Thanks all for sharing!
best episode in a while. Way to go BOSS!!
My buddy in high school had one. It came with a v-8 stock. It was the ultimate sleeper. And his had a manual. Since it was an AMC, a lot of jeep parts worked on it.
One of my friends acquired one in the 90s that had a dealer installed 401( I forget what they called it) but
It was ratty, dirty, but frighteningly fast, and handles like an overstuffed jelly doughnut.
You've got to look for the old commercials on that fish bowl 😂
Newcomer Racing made 1080hp with a 4.6L turbo. That would be fun in Pacer!
You can tell by the way it was turning over that one cylinder had less compression, it could be a valve issue, check out the lifters make sure it’s set to spec
Luv it. Its a classic. Maybe some small issues, what can go wrong?
Can’t wait to see what you are going to do with it!
Revival of a AMC PACER is going to be pay-dirt for your channel Robby! Huge score for Demri!
Our kids had one. 3 Sox on the floor. I became a expert clutch replacement tech. Tranny was aluminum. I'd set it on my chest while installing the clutch. The guy in Marker has a new project car.
Possibly your greatest work ever! Hilarious, boys (and Demry).
That was amazing ... fun to watch
I laughed so stinkin hard watching this!!! Absolutely hilarious!!
I had a canary yellow, 1988 Pacer Wagon... Great cars. Lol
I remember those cars. I grew up with AMC. I actually had an AMC Hornet Coup (two door). The Pacer had many issues....many. But a roll cage, some suspension parts, a 4x4 drive train, it could be ready for Sand Hollow...maybe.🤠
It was an interesting design, poorly executed mechanically. Reasonable aerodynamics for the era, and incredible visibility for not being a standard flat-top sedan format, it *could* have been an amazing car for the time. But cheaping out on pretty much the rest of the vehicle sort of doomed it. Kinda ugly, yeah... but people would have overlooked that if the rest of it worked to it's full potential. It would be fun if the guys gave this one the full restoration treatment, but we'll see...
I still dream of putting my 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit body on a 4x4 chassis. 😂❤
Needs to look completely factory inside and out with your power plant suggestions. Pastel with those factory hub caps - total monster sleeper!!!
Love this project!!!!!!!
Lol Lincoln asking for the keys😂😂😂 Great video
Cool looking 4 wheel drive
that looks like the one I owned back in the day! the cat converter melted the carpet and glowed red whenever I drove it!
I love watching you guys, you are so awesome and hilarious.
I like the AMC Pacer!!! I remember when they were debuted!!
Awesome choice Demri ! Reminding me of the hilarious things that happened in my younger days . You guys are so fun with old junkers like this AMC. Thats the best burnout I ever saw Roberto... MAAADD! Look at your speedo LOL. Hillbilly rules in these conditions fixing up the Pacer. Robby is even better!! Demri leaning all over you bore scoping your ears. I laughed so much my throat is aching. Thanks so much guys!
This was the best video that you have put out in a long time! It was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
i learned to drive in a 1976 pacer three speed on the colum. yes it was wayne's world blue in 1981
Stick the body on a 4x4 Chasey. The wheel base looks like it would work.
My aunt had one when I was 14 years old. I used to drive it and smoke the tires off, It was crazy how much power the little things had. We used to call them the bathtub cars.😅😂
Great 👍 stuff as always 👍
G.M. Atlas straight six, Vortec 4.8 I believe. year 2007 has 4 valves per cylinder and makes the power of an LS v-8. Fits perfectly and a ton less work. P.S. you can turbo it! plenty of you tube videos on it sometimes called Amera-Barra.
She did an awesome call .and she is very beautiful. You did an awesome job finding a diemonds in the rust
. Good job. You being the boss your guys on tracked on to getting it right
Nice
That was a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I vote for a turbo on the str8 6. Unique car, unique drivetrain.
Classic Fishbowl! Frkn hilarious! 🤣
Yous are so crazy had me rolling. Good find on the car Boss Lady 😂cant wait to see what yous do to it
That was the funniest video you have ever done, great job with that one!
Roby. So impressive with his congeniality I love it
Great decision Demry…. You are the real Boss of the crew…… I see the future… and I see a 4x4 Pacer Wrecker…….. that would be awesome coolio …. Make something wild…… the Pink Wrecker Pacer…. Pinky and the Robbynator….. have fun … so great
LS and twin turbos with street slicks and wheelie bar!!!
