It would've been really nice if they included the holiday specials and The Big Picture Show finale movie, but for the most part this is a really great way to get one of CN's best (and as of this writing, longest-running) shows on DVD!
The episodes on this DVD are basically in the same order as it was on HBO Max so whoever was in charge of compiling the episodes for streaming didn’t include those specials for some reason.
Yeah, this DVD release seams to be based on the HBO Max release which itself is incomplete and NOT a definitive collection of this show and its specials.

Even though it’s not “truly” complete, the specials and the series finale The Big Picture Show, are not in this set, but for what it’s worth, you should definitely get it.
Picked this up recently a few days ago and it's definitely a good set overall, even with that larger flaw of not including the holiday specials and the Big Picture Show though that's not an issue for me, seeing as i already have the Jingle Jingle Jangle/Christmas special via the Christmas Rocks disc and the Valentines (Hanky Panky Hullabaloo) and Halloween (Boo Haw Haw) specials downloaded from elsewhere online. Also have the Big Picture Show finale movie purchased/downloaded from iTunes so i'm good there. Overall, i'm glad to have this after years of not being able to get past the second season on DVD.
Just stumbled across this at walmart earlier and I may pick up if i start collecting physical media again. As for the weird smudges on the discs, there's been a lot of documented issue of those types of cases (and blu ray cases) leaving what appears to be some sort of residue over time, some of which affects playability in some cases.
I’m surprised you didn’t do a comparison between the two season DVDs and this. And since you’re getting rid of those will you do the same to your home made blu ray?

My slip cover had scratches on the back. Also, disc 10 has bad scratches on the top but plays very well ..I bought mine brand new not used on the Amazon options ..I totally agree with your review..i kinda wish it had the specials or at least the movie but they got us because they know we have been wanting a complete series box set of ed edd n eddy forever now

Teen Titans, unless I'm mistaken, was a CN show and it's also on Blu-ray. Then several "Boomerang" shows are if you count those since Boomerang began as a segment shown on Cartoon Network.

I've seen a video here of a guy speculating that other CN cartoons MAY be getting complete series DVD sets because the thumbnails for a few cartoons on (I think) *Itunes* had been change similar to that of the cover art of the Edds and Foster DVDs.

Technically those aren't considered part of the series since they were special episodes but if they release this with those episodes not included in this set it would maybe be called the complete "collection" next time. Maybe they're planning a separate release with those specials down the road. Maybe even on blu-ray for the finale. Let's hope so. I never saw the finale or holiday specials so I would buy them for sure if they did.

Wish this was a Blu-ray release. Sure, the show was SD but they could've done SD Blu-ray with fewer discs or just upscaled the show a little bit. I assume the show's assets were not preserved so they couldn't give it Batman TAS Blu-ray treatment.
@@andykishore Not true. The only episode of season 6 was also produced in HD. But quite frankly they likely still have the original negatives for the episodes so they could just rescan them like they did for the Samurai Jack Blu-Ray. But that's too expensive for poor little WB.
Why are you complaining about the fact that the release doesn't have a Blu-ray counterpart (which isn't that big of a deal tbh) when the set is technically incomplete (which is the aspect you SHOULD be complaining about).

Although, this DVD is currently the most amount of Ed, Edd n Eddy content to be on DVD and it at least includes the same discs from the individual previously released seasons 1 and 2 DVDs.
Honestly, I've seen a bunch of reviews on this set and I can say I am thoroughly disappointed. There's just such little effort put into things like the artwork, disc art, the insert and frankly the worst offender is the menus. Inconsistent and they use bland menus from season 3 onwards. Then of course the fact that it's missing a few specials and doesn't include the movie. They could make up some of the disappointment if they were to put out the movie on DVD and as special features they included all the Ed specials, but I would still be pretty frustrated. What really bothers me more than the individual problems about this set is that, for so long us Cartoon Network fans have wanted complete series boxsets. We've begged and talked about it and we finally get some for two shows. But the quality, care and effort just are not there. I can't drop $60 on this. I really can't. Same for the Foster's set. I may pick it up at $20, maybe. The issue that arises from this is WB or CN or whoever will use low sales from these releases as an example of why they shouldn't continue to do complete series boxsets. But they're the ones setting themselves up for failure by doing a poor job. I'm not going to waste my hard earned money on something that isn't worth it. I want complete series boxsets, but I want them done right and I don't think that's too much to ask. It's very likely we will continue to be in a physical media slump for CN and maybe they'll just ditch physical media all together. The only possible positive I could see from WB giving up completely on CN physical media or physical media in general is maybe they'd be willing to sell off the rights to release these shows and someone like Shout! Factory could do a really good job and get us the sets we want. Sadness :( Great video though :)
I agree shout can also benefit by giving us cartoon network shows that never had any dvd releases such as robot jones, time squad, camp Lazlo, robotomy, megas XLR etc
While I’m glad that cn went out of the way to release Ed edd and eddy and fosters on dvd That doesn’t excuse the damage and fear mongering that happened this year when they tried to make close enough and others just as forgotten as sym bionic titan Even uncle grandpa was the victim of the purge which thankfully he survived (although now the entire series is on Hulu) I know wb called all the shots but that doesn’t excuse the damage caused by all of this especially the unfair cancelations of shows that have potential such as Mao Mao heroes of pure heart and Elliot from earth At this point I hope shout factory gets the rights to do more Cartoon Network shows on dvd (they need to take a break on the studio ghibli releases)

9:35 Literally every single DVD I have with the big bulky cases that’s attached to the back side instead of the flippers has those cloudy splotches.
They should have added the Big Picture Show finale on the DVD, but it is almost complete
