I always liked the story of Praxis and Theory. This game sure loves it’s sister dynamics
You know the worst part about Theory's battle skills is that in order to get her, the quest involved makes you have to fight her old Driver. Who seems to get like 5 seconds of 100% evasion for seemingly no reason and deal about 660 damage to your stupid AI teammates, quickly killing them because you dared do this blade quest during Chapter 7 and it becomes literally the worst thing to have to deal with because your party has about 3-4k health depending on your blade setup.

In theory, she's the cutest of the katana-class blades.
The worst part is that she is the best of the Ice blades, so in Theory, you would only use her if you want a good Ice blade.
Meaning like Pokémon, you’d never use an Ice-type because they come too late and most die too easily unless you want a challenge or have picked good ones. Like Theory/Mamoswine and Weavile and Froslass and Galarian Darmanitan
She got one of the “coolest” designs imo.

When you compare the core game blades to the DLC blades it kinda almost seems like they looked at the ways the core game blades were kinda gimped and... fixed that.
Just wish the patch them too.

Didn't expect the Pokémon reference, I didn't know Enel was into Pokémon.
Conveniently enough, Ice-types suck in both games. That is how you know you are a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Pokémon; you know there are no good Ice-types, just good Pokémon/blades that happen to have the Ice typing.
Theory, Aegeon, and Brighid were the core of Morag's party for me. Those three were the ones I always defaulted to for her on my first playthrough.

Spike damage is such a disappointment. Would've been cool to defeat enemies or at least deal a solid chunk of damage from tanking hits alone.

One of my favorite things yo do in emla redux is the darkness level 3 seal reinforcements and because it’s the final step of freeze it’s just even better
On my first playthrough, she was consistently used on due to the katana arts Morag. I would upgrade Steadfast to 100% instead of 70%. Conviction would be 75%. Aerial Flashdance would be upgrade to 1200% at max level so it would be more useful. Ice slash would have 590 damage ratio at max affinity to be a bit better.
Great video! I can't wait for Aegaeon lol, he just looks like a slightly cooler version of a common blade. At least the Japanese voice of his voices Shanks in One Piece.

Although I prefer Praxis, Theory is definitely up there for me as well. I'd wager she's the most useful Katana in the game besides Percival, and I really love her story with Praxis and their quests. Still have trauma from the fight with her driver though.

Theory was one of the blades I gravitated towards for no reason before I really knew how to play this game. I just like her character and design. And as I get back into this game for another hundred hours, Theory was among the first that I started grinding S+ trust for, and I'm excited to use her again. How timely that you'd put this guide out
Praxys did the same for me, at first i only levels up her to build morag towards the ideal setup but she warms up as my water attacker for rex
I'll always remember that Nn Li would talk about how Theory could be set up to be the best blade in the game (this pre-DLC, and with QTπ on a tier of her own cause why not)

I'm proud to say I put in the time to play Tiger! Tiger! And have more experience in it that I'd like to admit, I never got a light core through playing, but fire/dark Poppi QTπ was basically a hard carry for me on my first account

Homestly in the future i want to make a Xenoblade 2: Balance mod that changes skills like 'Increased Break Resist' to 'Increased Damage and Increased Resist to Reactions at max affinity'
There are so many blades with so much potential that get bloody wasted on 'lower aggro draw' on tank blades or 'Chance to instakill (X) enemy type' that are basically worthless
Evasion is funny. I was able to beat that stupid level 91 side quest monster with my party being in the mid 60s with Brighid Aegaeon and Theory (plus foresight) despite being pretty bad at this game. Also I put the megalances on Rex so it's nice to know that as far as "I only use Blades that don't show up in random core crystals for consistency" goes my party is somewhat optimal. Anyway I'm guessing that Herald is next.

Just dropping in to say I finished the quest to get her last night and... fuck that boss fight. I was overlevelled and that Valdemar dude still took me down like 10 times. Then I switched to the most bonkers blades I had, just for him and I still lost. I genuinely needed like 2 hours to figure this stupid gimmick. Then I thought, wait a minute, why not just burst him down before he gets down to half health? Yeah, Orb Master and Corvin with his ridiculous party gauge gain did the trick.
My Theory is that you did Praxis first because it's easier in Theory to make jokes about her than her sister in Praxis.
Jokes aside, I never even knew these two existed in my first playthrough and only found out about them late in my second playthrough.

Which is weird since Telos was free but Poppibuster was paid, so you'd think people would care more about paid content since that's where the worth should be. And his sidequest was really cool showing us that grampypon Soosoo is still alive; I liked him a lot more personality wise than tryhard edgelord Telos whom I never thought was that interesting. So that's why I feel like he was overshadowed by her.

You say the counter damage is not useful, but man I wonder how much damage those clones are taking. Their skills have so many hits that that 1068 stacks up real fast.
you can still do like like 300K with a level 3 to all of them, they aren't going to attack frequently enough for it to be a massive difference.
I used Theory for most of the game and when you went over her specials I could not even remember what her Lvl. 1 was.

Well, at least she has a cool design. To be honest, I find her quite good to make ice combos but normally I don't go for ice because for me Volcano is just too good and I have other priorities when building good teams for tough battles in BoC. For the normal game though, Theory is a good blade. It reminds me a bit of Wulfric: decent blades but completely overshadowed by DLC monster blades.
A'ight, so I need something straightened out. I thought that only your active Blade's Battle Skills took effect. Was I wrong in this mindset?

Hey Enel and everyone. I'm on chapter 5 (just got Zeke) and was curious if I should be using 3 tanks on Morag, 3 attackers on Rex, and 3 healers on Nia or what an ideal combination is for midgame? I don't really like using Tora since I just feel more limited but in xenoblade 1 i used every party combination imaginable.
I also have a ton of low tier blades but I guess that's just luck and I don't grind at all and im still overleveled
It doesn’t matter what class they are they only things that really matter is their element and battle skills
Roles don't matter that much, you can realistically use any setup you want. Sticking to class roles isn't always smart though IMO
@@EnelXC huh good to know. I thought those bonuses would probably mean more than they seem to. I love having a healer and faster blades on Morag so far so she can keep aggro and just win the game

Do Praxis' quest first and awaken her, then, depending on your story progress (I'm not sure what the earliest you can do it is) walk through Garagorm's Arch with her in the party.
