I like how we just fuck around and talk shit for EVER between songs haha. Very green. Very passionate. This is when it was so real. A band in a van. Beautiful.
@@johncoker13 these are like baby pictures. I remember this show. I remember close my eyes. I remember the excitement. The newness. We could feel we were on to something. And it was hard. We fought a lot. We drove ourselves. This video is fantastic.
It is insane to think that just four years after this, they're recording Good Apollo. The evolution they went through in that time frame is just nutty.
wow, I played this show opening for them. I was in the band Close My Eyes for a brief period of time, we didn't have a singer so Claudio (and Montana) randomly screamed over a song of ours, so if his voice sounds shot here, that's why. Other bands that played the show include Madeline Ferguson, Ralph Furley Fanclub (later became Heatherton Heatwave) Sawtooth grin and more.
To think that these kids are playing they're hearts out to a small crowd in the middle of a parking lot, and in that moment have no idea that one day there's be thousands of people looking back on this just wishing they could've been there. Amazing.
@@jon211233 for real. second stage is crazy post hardcore, the energy of this performance is practically begging for that type of behavior and I would've personally indulged
Claud’s always having his guitar fly off during these early performances. It’s rad. Also fuck that guy that says “you sing like a girl” then Claudio is like I know haha
Been listening to these guys since 2002, and they've never left the top spot of greatest band I listen to. No one else comes close to Coheed. Crazy how dialed all their tracks were right out of the gate... They've refined this album over the years but man it was really all here way back then. The only thing I've found that comes close to this vibe is the original rage against the machine concert floating around on RUclips.
@@WeerdScienceTV Right?! haha. Hard not to be influenced by them around this time I suppose. But you guys took what they did and amped it up x100. Can't wait to see you all on the road again and hope Vaxis Part 2 is coming along well :)
No one gave him a water before he sang Junesong? Sounded like he was using "New and Improved: Glass Listerine Mouthwash & Gargle Tabasco Flavor!" Fuuuuuck sounds painful Claudio smoked back then too
Can anyone shed light - this show took place before Second Stage came out, so how did the crowd know the lyrics? Surely not just from their live shows?
The album is called the second stage turbine blade. This video was from damn near twenty years ago right when they got started. If you give it a listen you won't be disappointed to find that it is so beautifully hardcore and Progressive and innovative. Do yourself a favor and get some awesome headphones or a good speaker system, turn that s*** up and immerse yourself

The guy sitting in front of the bass drum so it doesn’t slide is the real MVP here.
Hahaha Brian Smith!

...filling stadiums now!! Amazing indeed.
You use to be able to walk up to the guys and talk and chill but now mwahaha
Wild as hell. You'll never see Coheed like this and this is probably the most proper energy of Second Stage Turbine Blade
Those early first shows as Coheed we're so raw and alive with energy
never thought I'd see two-stepping and windmills at a Coheed show but here we are.
People always forget they come up in the post hardcore scene.

claudio going fucking wild, his strap locks come loose and he just sits the guitar down, fuckin love it
LOL During Junesong Provision Claudio just sets his guitar down to sing. So rare to see that.

You think claudios sounds like a girl, wait til he hears Anthony Green or Craig Owen's in the next couple of years

I would pay a disgusting amount of money to see Coheed play in a setting as personal as this. Would've then, still would now.
Was probably like 20$ for a admission
Relic. Just look what they did in these, say, 20 years!
dude you're seriously the man, I'm watching a moment in music history right now. This is beautiful and surreal.
So true dude. Watching Claudios dance moves is pretty cool. He's so young and nerdy like, but now who's the man.?!
This was the moment where eveyones voice was cracking but no one gave a shit bc this was living in the moment. Fuck yes!
Very cool, high energy concert. Getting ATDI vibes from this performance. Not surprising knowing they were influenced by them. Thanks for uploading!
0:17 serious "puerto rican dance vibe" ;) someone was definitely watching Omar

The hype man did the scream. lol. I've never heard it before live. At least we got it.
Wish I was there holy shit
Mic Todd :T-SHIRTS !
So proud of the boys, look what you've done.
This drum sound is amazing...
Claudio shreds the guitar right off of his body, so good
So awesome, wish they’d do another SSTB neverender
Love The Wild Claudio ❤❤❤❤❤ Super Rare Footage!! THANK YOU!!

Imagine it’s 2002 and you just see this dudes rip open time consumer…
I was only 2 when they did this!
Just once, I would love to see claudio pop in on one of these videos and make a comment about their past performances.
Josh is at the top of the comments homie.
13:22 an unknown member of Coheed and Cambria.. lol who is this dude he was awsome!
I think that's Montana who does the initial scream in hearshot.
Fuck yes. Love finding old footage I haven't seen.

Thank god that 2 step is dead.
So he’s always gotta. Awkward without a guitar lol
