For 3$ a month, you get an extra weekly "What's UP" update video. Just for my Patrons. The Support I resave on patreon is all used on stuff to make interesting videos on RUclips.
My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I'm trying to get the most out of my money, and my time.
My battery was blinking the lights in the same way. I followed the simple procedure in the video and fixed my battery within minutes. THANK YOU MORTEN !
Glad it helped :-) makes my day!!
Many Thanks! This repair worked for me after i forgot the battery outside in the rain and it got water/moist inside.
NOTE: One of the four screws were cover with some semi hard resin, this was really hard to get rid of, but dont give up, be patient and careful to not damage the screw itself.

Glad I could help! Makes me so proud to see all the people that has gotten their batteries back up and running with this video. Makes me happy.
Worked great!
Only thing I had to do differently was to press the LED indicator button while shorting the reset contacts. FYI in case it doesn’t work for someone else. Ps, I used a standard T10, not a security T10. Felt like I could have stripped the head but I was careful and it worked.
I do believe this is an overload protect feature built into the PCB. Ryobi could have made the reset easier for everyone but I’m guessing they want to sell more batteries and also give repair shops an easy fix in which they can make a healthy profit.
Thank you for sharing that little hack!
worked well thanks for making this video
You're welcome! happy to help..
My battery hasn't done this yet, but I believe I will make great use of this tip in the future!
If this ever happens to you,, you know there is a fix,, and can even be the smart guy,, that help someone else with this issue :-)
It worked the first time a couple of months ago and worked great since, thank you 🙏🏼 but now after the reset and I plug back into the charger it works for a moment then blinks red/green again 😢
unpluf and plug in at least 30 times before you give up,,, weirder things has been seen.
Hi,
Newbie here and working on to fix my Ryobi 36v, 2.6A lawn mower battery. Since it was manufactured in 2015, I was thinking its time to replace all batteries (since it is not performing well) and I did. After changed, pretty much I am getting 40v at the pcb boards pins. But, when I measure across 2 main terminal point, T1 and T2, I am getting only 16.5v. Is this normal? With this condition, I was able to recharge and use it again but performance almost the same. Is the mosfet failing? Any ideas to fix my problem, please let me know. Thanks in advance.😊
I have not tried this,, I have no idea :-/
This is great information. Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
I fixed my battery, thanks
You are very welcome,, glad to help! :-)
Fixed it thanks much appreciated
You are very welcome!!
Yep worked for me, Thank you.
You're welcome!
I tried my 8, 2.6 Ah batteries from 2013-15 that I recharged every 6 months but not the last 18 months and had the same flashing light result. I found the two RST points, shorted them for 10 seconds, put them in to recharge and had success on all but the 2 youngest(2015) which tested out as dead flat. not a bad result as I had originally been given all 8 second hand!
That is a lot of batteries,, Glad it helped!!
Thank you for your video! Clear and concise and extremely helpful.
However, my battery is completely drained, as such shorting the reset easy fix isn't working for me. Do you have any recommendations?
I would do this,,, use a multimeter and find + and - on the string of cells,, lets say is sayes 14volt,,, I would than put a little charger on that and slowly bring up the voltages. (I have a laboratory power supply that can go from 0-60v)
I am not sure if the ryobi charger can be any help here. It would not be wise to throw the charging voltages from the charger on to the depleted cells,, might be possible to serial it with a light bulb,, to bring up the voltages slowly.
Easy fix if reset button by itself faild. Hook a brake light to the charger output through clip leads to the cells directly bypassing the BMS Then charge to 3.4V per cell. If a cell group is bad you will need to disconnect test and replace the bad cells if found. Next apply the same voltage to the output teminals. Then hit the reset switch to allow communication with the charger. Finally recharge as normal. ❤
Thank You!
I have not yet, needed to do anymore with my battery,, then this reset.
Hi fixed my battery😊
That is great,, thank you for letting me know!! :-)
A small screen will brake stud in screw where a standard torque will work I think
I have managed to use a flathead,, from time to time :-)
Mine does the same thing as yours. But when I put it in the charger it flashes like it's charging for a few seconds and then it changes to red green again.... Any new solutions? It a new battery so i get a new one for free anyway, but i want this to work
I do not really know,, make sure the connections are clean,, a good places to start.
Are you still in Portugal? In the Mikrotik interface you can check the system health (don't know the exact place right now) which should show the input voltage from the battery. That will not be the true battery voltage because of drop in the cables, but it is something.
Yes I am still here,, would love to be able to check that,, no idea where that is at??
@@MyPlayHouse In WebFig (in case you are in Quick Set you need to switch using the buttons on the top):
In the menu, choose: System -> Health
Ill try this cheers.
Best of luck,, it has helped me twice now :-)
@@MyPlayHouse as an update - worked perfectly.
I don't have the reset (2-side by side) on my battery. It's dated 2019 so circuit board might be different. 😮💨 darn it.
I wish I could help,, but I do not have that model, to try and fix.
If you want to donate your broken one,, I would love to try and help the next guy.

and I wil try to fix it for a video.
Mine went to one light after the rest plug it back up back to 4 blinking. Gonna try it one more time before i chunk it across the room haha
Best of luck to you,, hope you get it going..
Your battery is still under warranty. 2022 in the serial number.
It came from an Amazon seller,, I did not want the hassle. it works great,, was in use yesterday!!
Just FYI it's trimming not strimming
What i the different ?
Lol.. I know right .
my battery looks different inside
I only know this one,,, sorry..
Is Ryobi okay with you fixing their battery, you are meant to buy a new one
:-) I am in NOT under Ryobi´s influences,, as all the Ryobi I have has been bought by me,, so they do not get a say in this :-)
@@MyPlayHouse Don't get mad take it apart
Even if unfixable I'm still stealing the usable cells out of it for other stuff lol.😂
Ryobi might tell the consumers that they put the security torx screws for safety reasons. Most people would just buy a new battery and shove money to the manufacturer. If they cared about e-waste they would have just put a reset switch to the battery to mitigate any hazards. As most manufacturers these days it's an obvious money grab and they don't care about the environment.Good job finding the reset!
👍
Good to keep them going..

Hi @Jayman001
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
this apparently doesn't work if you have zero lights. I have three batteries that don't light up at all. I thought about a trickle charger with alligator clips to get them to blink, then reset? Thanks nonetheless 🧎♂️
I think you need to measure the cells,, and probably the whole battery is way to low.
