What is the point of asking an artist what they want to make if you're just going to be like; Nope, our idea is better.
Fake attention and fake approval.
they want his popularity, and not his artistry, his ambitions, let alone his concepts.
you and I are the commodity that Andrew has somehow garnered, and that's all they care about, they don't care how he has done it. coincidentally, this very mindset gets you a beautiful cancer. so it'll sort out, and times will change.
It’s a whole subconscious trick they’re trying to pull of you pitch your idea and then they “tweak” it to their idea and makes you feel like you made it so you’ll agree with it. Often people who don’t just sign contracts and do business like Andrew, who care about what they do don’t fall for it. He doesn’t care about making a show for profit, he cares about making a show for entertainment, which is hard to make nowadays, but he seems to be pulling it off.
@@milanstevic8424 Well if the show did (somehow) crash, and they recorded multiple episodes before release, they would lose out on hundreds of thousands of dollars and weeks of Time, and that would be ones that did release. The ones that Andrew couldn't manage to get enough sounds or good enough sounds, they would release and would've wasted 2+ plane tickets and hotel stays.

@@DemonaruMusic I agree that money is a major factor. And about RUclipsrs, what puts them aside from others is what they do with their time as content creators rather than the how much money they put into a video. At least from how I view things, there are content creators who have created good videos with just using time and doing what they can with the money available to them. They chose to make something out of time rather than scratching the idea because of money concern.

This was engaging, nostalgic, inspiring, and compelling. The editing was beautiful, the cinematography interesting but not distracting. You were able to toe the line between the vlog and youtube style and the smoothness of a high production company. This is truly remarkable work, Andrew.

I’m so upset that no TV production companies would accept this idea. It’s honestly the most enjoyable thing I’ve watched in a long time. It’s wholesome, heartfelt, sweet, fun, and creative!
Tv is like a spell, a bad spell. It wants to give us the illusion of being able to do something more than the internet when Andrew just proved here that he can do just as well (way better in fact because he's free of their sickly money-driven advertiser-friendly endavours).
Think about it: why do we still consider being on TV a desirable thing?
When you stop and think for a minute and break free of this conditionning you realize there's absolutely no reason for wanting this. TV is obsolete, antiquated, and if it wasn't such an useful media for big market groups and lobbies it would have been abandonned a while ago.
@@VERMiiNE While what most of what you say is true, tv would allow Andrew to have more funding to do this. You say he can do it just as good if not better wirhout that according to this video, but this took him a whole year to finish, and the reason for the trip wasn't specifically for this video so he had to focus on other things during it, whereas if this were a tv show, he would have the funding and time to make it right and how he wants it.
Vermine de Sombre My whole deal falls in line with the fact that it would allow him to further his passion project in a more efficient manner than having to take so much time on just the one video. It’s so well crafted and if he had the funding and support of professionals he would be able to share this passion with a large audience in a timely manner
TV is old media full of pleasing execs so they have to pitch whats proven, and consequently tired dull or dumb. Most would've opted for the cooking challenge but with music, like the glass blowing series. All done to death. Pave your own way man, your editing absolutely dicks on standard tv. Keep your vision your way.
Probably because it would be super expensive to shoot with a full professional film team. Pitched poorly, it’s paying for one person to travel a bunch. The costing could be mitigated by convincing tourism boards or specific locations to partially fund it in exchange for coverage, but I figure that might be more corporate than he’d prefer.
Thanks Andrew for talking with so much respect about the Dutch...

Since I had to tell my Daughter that her Mother passed away recently I've just been kind of auto-piloting through life...

I now remember why I love composing and producing; I had stopped for a while.
Andrew, don't give up on "Music Is Everywhere" because this just became my favorite concept for a TV show that I think I've ever seen.
Thank you.
You're awesome.
sending you positivity and support. you and your daughter are no-doubt loved by many. keep putting one foot in front of the other, and accept support and love wherever you find it. feel for you...
Stay strong, and focus on what loving lives you and your daughter can build together.
My sincerest regards and deepest appreciation to the three of you. Jason, your simple reminder to keep moving has impacted in a way that is complex beyond belief; if anything is worth doing, it's worth doing half way if that's the best effort one can produce. Philip, staying strong is difficult, but "fake it till you make it" yet again produces results. Rather ironic that the little life that looks to a father for strength and comfort can be the generator for that very same stoicism. It's the epitome of a true positive feedback loop. Fernando, my friend, your empathy has once more inspired the immaterial link with existence that is the lifeblood of creativity. I must admit I had to fall back on my old tactic of being an editor for the most uninspired ideas that I could get from my head into a soundscape. Thankfully once we force ourselves to contend with the plateau of creative stagnancy, the second nature of a craft honed from childhood took back over.
You three are an anomaly that I could not be more thankful for. Through the act of lending a bit of empathy over unknown distances of fiber optics, not only have you aided in regaining my center, but my faith in humanity has been reassured for the time being.
Remember my name, as I am indebted to the kindness and care that was in no way obligated of you all, but is infinitely appreciated.
If ever you need advice to sort your thoughts, contact me
If ever you need an ear when the whole world has been deafened to your plight, mine are open.
And, if ever you need a friend to merely sit with you in darkness, come and sit with me, for I too am fluent in the art that is silence.
Endless gratitude.

So what if you are not in MIT making sustainable energy? As much as that stuff is important, so is peace of mind. This is what the last song is about. They all listen to songs. It isn't the internet that killed TV. It's TV's own stupidity and its constant bet/assumption on its viewers' stupidity.
Good riddance if you ask me. The sooner, the better.
You show them Andrew.
True words spoken there. If you ask me, Andrew Huang escaped a sinking ship... TV.
TV has to cater to as many people as it can, whereas the internet/RUclips can afford to get more niche, and in my opinion produces something that's interesting on a deeper level than the format of TV could ever offer.
I'm gonna guess that he pitched it to internet TV like Netflix and the likes. Not cable tv.
Well, let's say that internet can't kill TV because they are for different audiences, at least that's the case in China. And if we consider TV as "just any steaming service that produce their own original show or outsource their premium shows" and look at reality shows in general, it isn't about viewer's stupidity either, it's all about, how many ads can be squeezed into the show nowadays. Andrew's idea surely can't create enough sponsored slots so that's a big no no for those TV producers.
@@thrownstair Or let's say TV has to get as many ads as it can which makes them keen on contents that appeals to as many people as they can, while content creators on RUclips that isn't sponsored by RUclips directly (besides ads but not every channel runs on RUclips ads) can choose their own way of funding their content, and thus can choose to be more niche if they so want.

I agree. They have the issue of not being able to see past their own noses. When you’re so desperate for something that you fail to see the true way of getting it and lose out on it in reality.
This is true. The argument of losing out is a valid one, but without taking risks you’re not gonna have a breakthrough, and that in itself is somewhat of the reason people don’t try to pitch their ideas on tv, since with platforms like this, people can make nearly whatever they want, and with that, can always appeal to at least one group of people, and sometimes that causes viral videos, which then makes these businesses lose out. Trevor Davison that’s so true I love his music because so much effort goes into making it. But when listening to mainstream songs you can’t tell any effort went into it.
Best RUclipsr. What a video.
If there is one channel I know which deserves to be the channel with the most traffic on this platform I´d pick yours Andrew. Every video is put together with a lot of love for detail and humour, it just never gets old. Keep doing what you love!
There's so much power in this song
Love it❤️
I loved your use of the ticking from the traffic light. Something your average person would probably consider an annoying sound, you turned into somehting cool in a track
This is awesome! I actually don't like to watch travel shows because as cool as they are, I get jealous of all the places people go and all the things people get to do in the shows. But introducing a music element makes it so much more inviting and personal. I know when *I* travel, inevitably I'll get to have these magical moments that can't be put into words, and when I think about these moments later I often imagine them with some kind of music playing in the background, like a montage. So I think your idea is amazing because not only do I get to relive your experiences how I think about them, but I get to marvel at how you make the music itself. I would definitely like to see more videos in this style.
Awesome to see that you had such a great time in our country! Really inspired by the episode. Keep up the great work :D
