    Sadly, The Four Tops are reunited once again at Woodlawn Cemetery as the last original living member Abdul "Duke" Fakir has passed away July 22nd 2024 at the age of 88. He was buried there on August 2nd 2024. That classic beautiful harmony is reunited for the first time since 1997, never to be separated again.

    Saw them at the Fairfield halls Croydon uk in the 80s when they were on tour , they were fabulous,I took along an LP of there’s and was fortunate to have it signed by all four of them , after the concert at the side in there tour bus ,Levi signed it to my pal Richard ,I treasure the memories of that night and the LP which I still have to this day , Thank you for the music ,and be at peace wherever your fine energy is now

    I can't thank you enough for posting this video. You did an excellent job. The whole video was wonderful. I went to Woodlawn cemetery today. (Nov. 16, 24) And I was deeply moved. I have been a fan of The Four Tops since the beginning. Again, I thank you Lisa.

    Thank you Lisa. Came across your video whilst scrolling thru memories of the Tops on RUclips. In my 70s now but have loved and followed the group, collecting ALL their albums along the way since first being captivated by them in the 60s. Thanks again.

    'What a great video of an iconic group of singers. I would love to go to Detroit to visit these graves myself, but I was in Detroit once cutting through Canada and honestly, at that time it scared me to death, and I never wanted to go back again. Maybe it has changed since then because that was back in the early 90's when I went. Either way this cemetery looks beautiful!

      Thanks, Flo. The cemetery was lovely. I am sure Detroit is better than it was in the 90's, however, I wouldn't go back on my own. Had some issues whilst there. If you go, have someone with you 😘

      Indeed, Flocosta. With all due respect to Detroit and its residents even in its outer lying suburbs, you most certainly need to be careful in most places in Northern Michigan. That place can indeed be super shady & dangerous. Also checking out this grave, I see that Levi passed much later then I presumed that he did. He must've kept in shape as he was honestly an older gentleman.
      I mean not super old but I honestly presumed that he passed in the late '90s. I remember him as the voice of Mother Brain (a Metroid character) from Captain N The Game Master on Saturday mornings when I watched cartoons when I was very young. Dear God how I feel soooo old remembering that! LOL

    The Internet states Bill Backer wrote "I'd Like To Buy The World A Coke".

    • @TravelWithLisaMH
      @TravelWithLisaMH  3 месяца назад +1

      The lyrics were rewritten by the songwriters-together with US advertising executive Bill Backer and US songwriter Billy Davis-as a jingle for The Coca-Cola Company's advertising agency, McCann Erickson, to become "Buy the World a Coke" in the 1971 "Hilltop" television commercial for Coca-Cola and sung by the Hillside Singers.[4] "Buy the World a Coke" was produced by Billy Davis and portrayed a positive message of hope and love, featuring a multicultural collection of teenagers on top of a hill appearing to sing the song.
      The popularity of the jingle led to its being re-recorded in two versions: one by The New Seekers and another by The Hillside Singers (as a full-length song) that dropped references to Coca-Cola. The song became a hit record in the US and the UK.
