    Best video yet, your explanation of how and why you planish is excellent, you are a master craftsman

    I have seen smithies cut a panel from modern cars that have a needed contours. Doing this saves a lot of time. Naturally your way is appreciated and more custom.

      I don’t think it saves any time. It took me about an hour and a half to make the insert. Weather you make it or cut it out, welding it in takes the same amount of time.

    You guys must start early. Your helper is in his pajamas. It's looking good.

    Awesome ! ! ! I've duplicated tool steel for plastic injection molds for 56 years, simply amazing the contours you are able achieve in the less than stable sheet metal.

    Do you use a "flat" die in the planishing hammer and is it worth making one or saving and buying one in your opinion.

    • @RACGARAGE
      @RACGARAGE  Год назад

      I use a flat die from time to time but even a flat die can create shape. So you have to be careful

    Intro: "I don't know what I'm trying to say..."
    Translated: "I do stuff the RIGHT way, not the quick and cheap way, because I care about the quality of the product associated with my name/company." As if this wasn't already one of my favorite lubetube channels...
