    Caitlin Clark's Fever are the WORST Team I have Ever Seen... In this video we are going to be talking about Caitlin Clark, the number 1 pick in the WNBA draft and how she is hated by WNBA players. Caitlin Clark was drafted number 1 by the indiana fever after being one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. WNBA players like A'Ja Wilson, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart and Sue bird are not fans of the number 1 pick.

    I have a feeling you just put more thought into the challenges this team faces than either the coach or the GM have. Until they have good leadership, it doesn't matter what they do. I doubt this current leadership group has the intelligence or vision or guts to make a big move and move either of these players on their own. However, changes may be forced upon them if the product continues to stink, despite the talent and potential that exists there. The worst thing that could happen is to just get stuck in mediocrity and underperformance, but the pressure to do something may become too great for that to happen if the team can't progress. One question I have is: Is Boston really not capable of playing a more up-tempo game? I wonder if she was given a trainer and was willing and was pushed hard, if she could significantly increase her athleticism. I wonder if she has just coasted up until now on her size? Yeah, but it's a mess right now, and someone is going to have to figure out how to build a complimentary roster there, and I don't really see that happening with the current coach and management.

      Boston was an all star last year. The problem is her style doesn't match up with Caitlin's style, and I doubt it ever will. Indiana botched this up big time from ownership, the gm and the coach honestly. If they knew they were going to draft Caitlin Clark, then they should've tried their best to construct the roster around her skillset so she can hit the ground running. Normally in a rookie's first few seasons as a pro, you want to try to put them in the best position to succeed to build their confidence up. Not tear it down because you failed to build towards their strengths.
      I honestly feel like the Fever only drafted Clark to make money on her, and they didn't want to be known as the team with the first pick to pass on Caitlin Clark if she proved to be a next generational talent like people touted her to be out of college. if anything, I'm sure Sides and the Fever would've preferred having the second pick in the draft this year so they could've gotten who they really wanted imo.

    Spot on. Easier to trade Clark. Iowa style basketball isn’t in the WNBA DNA, let’s be real. Just as it wasn’t in the NCAA before IOWA broke the mold. CC excels being the quarterback to a team consisting of explosive rim runners and competent perimeter shooters. It brings a style play that is exciting to watch, and what brought CC fans to follow CC to the WNBA. Unfortunately, for both CC and her legions of fans, CC is caught in a vortex of old establishment, boring half court b ball. Like watching paint dry in comparison to full court, fast paced transition ball ala Iowa style. Best hope is for CC to be available to an upcoming expansion team willing to build a team around CC. Short of this happening, CC will continue suffering a death by a thousand cuts.

    • @francesw.6774
      @francesw.6774 3 месяца назад +4

      You are so right. Sometimes I think the WNBA looks like the NBA 40 years ago. Dump it down to the bigs (think Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon), because there are not enough shooters and multi-talented forwards to go around. In the NBA now, they look for everyone to shoot, guard multiple positions, etc. If you are not athletic enough and multi-faceted, you don't make it or play only a marginal role. I think Iowa overachieved because, in addition to superstar Clark, they played a style of basketball that teams couldn't keep up with - even teams with more talented overall rosters. I'm worried that Clark may not find the right fit or one that is created for her such that she can fully utilize her talent.

    • @rorybisson756
      @rorybisson756 3 месяца назад +3

      you can still run a half court and make it exciting. the problem is the coach is a moron. all she has to do is watch GS games when they were peak or early 90's basketball where you had a big (Boston in this case) in the paint, defense collapses and the big passes out to an open shooter for a 3. this isn't rocket science. while I agree with the assessment of CC's style. she in that regard is very much Magic Johnson style player with her passing ability to said rim runners. are their trades/free agents/undrafted women id be calling, sure. but between the coach being a moron and their gm suddenly forgetting how a phone/computer works to send out those feelers, they are just going to keep looking awful.

    This only solidifies my opinion that the Fever only drafted Clark to make money off of her, as they didn't even attempt to build the team around her if they knew she was going to get drafted by them. Honestly, I feel like the Indiana Fever should've tried to trade the number one pick to trade down to get a boatload of other picks and maybe another player or two because that would've made more sense from a basketball perspective. Let someone else draft Caitlin, and you can just use the lower picks to get who you really wanted that would've fit the offense that Sides wanted. Granted, they would've gotten ridiculed for it by the media in the short term. But long term? As long as they're winning, people would've gotten over it in time.

Czinano is shooting 60%, w 15ppg, 7 rebounds, great hands, quick in transition and doesn’t dribble. With her backing up Temi, I think they can ball with Hull, Celeste, Temi, Mitchell and CC starting. As I’ve watched Boston looks like she has pretty nice stroke from outside. This being said a pick & pop option might work better to draw the opposing Big away from the hoop, a la Bill Laimbeer. Thus opening up the lane for their 3 slashers (Mitchell, NaLyssa, and Fagbenle) to go hard to the Rim. Add a knock down shooter and things could get interesting. I'd prefer Smith over Boston, but there is no chance that happens, especially since Smith might be Sides least favorite. And probably would be getting playing time if not for the Fabenle injury.

    CC just need to "Lebron" the situation and start being the GM because this is getting out of hand. the fact that the fever Gm hasn't even bothered to call undrafted Gabby Marshall to see if shed like to play in the W is to me, a fireable offense because Gabby is so much better than the 12th woman on their roster. what they need to be doing is running a pick and pop/ pick and rolls like they did in the 90's for bigs like Ewing and such (Boston filling the role as the big) drawing in the defense and if they collapse, rotate the ball around till it finds CC for 3. this is by no means rocket science. would trading boston help? maybe. im still not sure the coach knows wtf shes doing with a clipboard. i think there needs to be other roster moves made before you even begin to trade either one of them. if I did make a trade, id call the storm and ask for Mueller(I think that's her name, the guard from UConn, so you have a lockdown defender and at least someone familiar to CC's playstyle) because you ain't getting the Aces to trade Martin, not when she was the steal of the draft. I am firmly in the camp this is a management issue, not a player issue at least not entirely.

    Boston has been a huge disappointment she looks too slow to be a real factor moving forward. She must be much heavier or something in last year because she was rookie of the year and before that she was player of the year in college actually beating out CC3 because Boston was on an undefeated South Carolina team. Clark could have won player of the year all 4 years in college.
    But we won't really know if Clark and Boston can't play together until next season and a new coaching staff and a few new teammates at the very least.
    They need another 3 point Is specialist or 2 on that team to open things up for the inside. Clark just does not get great looks because she has double teams all the time. Put a real shooter like Connecticut's paige in the back court with her it's a whole different team. Or even Kate Martin a great open shooter and the dummy fever should have drafted her.

      If I could Paige and another first round pick in 2025....she'd be traded

    it complicated but let me say this ....Aliyah game and size is the reason why CC's game is not being exposed even more in my opinion...yes a quicker big can benefit from CC passes...but a quicker big also allows the opposing teams to run quicker/condensed lineups which pretty much will allow them to switch more easily when CC calls for a pick or tries to lose her defender (because that usually how CC scores she has to lose her defender she doesn't go through them) ....the suns exposed this Brionna jones and AT is shorter but strong enough to keep up with Aliyah but can at times can switch just enough for her teammates to catch back up to CC or to even switch onto the third option so CC can't take advantage of her ...then you also have DJ, TY and Bonner strong enough and quick enough to keep up with anyone outside of Aliyah....like if you want to trade Aliyah fine there alot of teams that will happily take her...but i don't know if you literally can get the player that will benefit CC type of game as AT is that player and she not leaving the suns (well i hope she doesn't) and the wnba so versatile that can match players in that quick switch offense that CC benefits from in the long run at the very least....in my opinion CC has to learn how to play team ball both on and off the court...but she is one of those players that can prove me wrong...but she hasn't

      well, thats due to multiple factors. better defenders, teammates who have absolutely no idea how to catch a pass, and horrible play design that they are running. is there some bad decision-making on her part, yes. but truthfully its all those other factors that contribute to her making a bad pass decision.

      Aliyah Boston mentioned it in the interview that she couldn't catch the ball because Caitlin was a faster pace. Caitlin's ex Iowa teammates Monika Czinano and Hannah Stuelke could run and catch a pass. The Fever teammates are still struggling to catch a pass.
