"I have challenging days...but not bad"
I like that.
indeed.
+Joel Peart That's what sets apart from other bbq places
My biggest challenge would be not eating all of the BBQ!!
+Joel Peart Great mindset.
Joel Peart A-fucking-men. That's a great attitude that too few people have!
Notice how humble they all are. It takes a different breed to love that fire.
Indeed it does sir.
For hell's sake - food is food; outside of political fundraising dinners, appreciation of such is NOT a personal statement. Lighten the F*CK UP, enjoy what is beautiful in life including what makes you happy whether it be a great meal or book or other interest. Assuming your beliefs do not infringe upon others same rights, love simply so that others may simply live.
And your definition of democracy & freedom supersedes others? Categorizing 'others' (libertarians) in broadcloth is a slippery slope, my, friend
How in the fuck did this become a political debate? Just empty mind and eat ribs...
I love the fire
“You must be in a good mood. If you’re in a bad mood cooking, you’re about to mess something up.” 100% truth.
I've burned 2 pots of rice & a pot of beans in a bad mood... Why didn't someone give me this WISDOM SOONER!
Yup . GD video
Very true
So right!
Preach, brother. That guy seemed to be so wholesome about everything.
"I have challenging days but not bad ones" well said changing my Outlook on life
South Carolina's best.
These guys are clearly very passionate about their craft. Mad respect.
thats the thing, its not even just their craft, it genuinely is their life, as some of them said they were born into it, raised by it

Were they molded by it? XD
"As long as it's BBQ, it's a winner already!" - Love Rodney's enthusiasm and laid back personality, he needs his own show!
When they speak with thick southern accent you know the meat will be awesome
So true
“ my day starts with coffee and cigarettes before the sun comes up”
Hell yea, That’s who i want making my bbq
Breakfast of champions.
"Every day's a good day. I have *challenging* days - but not bad".
words to live by right there
Stay positive you are absolutely correct
As the fine gentleman at 5:39 points out, this is something that unites people. Despite superficial differences, with understanding and love in our hearts we can get together to share and care over something as seemingly simple as good food.
This world needs more of that.
We think so, too!
DonPandemoniac sadly I wish the country was like that all the time and vegetarian are evil taking the food from those poor animals
Jcream101 maybe you don't get it we eat them so what they eat we eat
wilbert kim his point might be that one need to feed about 1400 lbs to raise a 360 lbs pig. You could feed way more people with this 1400 lbs instead of wasting them and raise a single pig which would feed less people. With that being said, I would not want to live in a world without slow smoked pork belly. What I do is, I consume lesser but higher quality, organic meat.
DonPandemoniac. I concur :)
You know it's serious when you start using a mop as a brush
Haha
Ur talking a whole Hog!!!
🤣😂😆
just don't use a used mop
They use a mop up here in Indiana.
Franklin and Scott are living legends.
I am from Glasgow Scotland, I would travel to America even if it was just to eat some of this meat! Looks Amazing.
C'mon down!
Sounds like a 'destinations' trip, and well recommended - make sure you include the diversity that different States/styles represent!
Yes it will be well worth the trip to visit the good ‘ole USA I reside in one of the hottest states in our country Arizona a lot of folks here barbecue with mesquite wood and it is DELICIOUS!!
Some people don't eat pork for religious reasons, I'm not into religion for pork reasons.
Haha, that's funny right there. Nice job!
epic!
here take this W

That black dude with the beard and dungarees is the one who I would go and visit on a Sunday afternoon for a feed
"Every day is a good day. I have challenging days, but not bad"
I want that guy to be my life mentor
As a foreigner who wants to visit USA the south is very appealing to me. To me this is what America is.
Come on down, Raymond!
It's not as bad as ppl try to make it
you should visit the southwest too! New Mexico is an amazing place not many people think to go.
Na, theres 50 different places to see!
Michigan is the best state, dont listen to these guys :)
welp...this just made me hate this dry ass turkey sandwich in my hand even more...
Lmao
+Kintu31 LoL I hear ya.
+Kintu31 LMAO!!!
+Kintu31 lmao I needed that laugh.
+Kintu31 BBQ Turkey can be quite delicious.
"Every day is a good day. I have challenging days, but not bad." The Truth, if I ever heard it.
That’s the attitude, outstanding.
When the guy said “must be in a good mood... Everyday is a good day.”
That really stuck out to me. I completely agree. I work in a restaurant and can attest to this. Being in a good mood makes the overall shift so much better.
thats on any job
"I have challenging days...but not bad"
Words to live by... Great positive outlook we should all adopt in our daily lives :)
Food always brings ppl together. I love to cook any style. Mexican ,Asian, Italian. Recently started to learn to bbq and I'm in love. watching lots of videos lol
That's so true!! Cheers from Germany :)
Raachen cheers!

My Asian Wife is 1 in a million perfect Woman I ever came across

RIP to Roosevelt Scott. Rodneys dad. His attitude and legacy of smoked meats will never be forgotten.
"I have challenging days, but not bad" I like that philosophy
Omg what an original comment. Oh wait someone already said that 3 months ago
just heard someone say this in the room next to me lol
That’s how I’m going to look at my days from now on.
I'm from the West coast but damn I love the south.
Im from the german south, kinda have a fascination for the US southerners. Been to almost every US state a few years ago. Beautiful country, beautiful people.
Thanks Bud, come back and see/visit us anytime.
Come back
Just stop
Great BBQ in San Antonio Texas. I enjoyed Shwenkbraten while in Spangdahlem area. Beautiful country.
I absolutely love this video! I’ve been barbecuing for over 30 years as a passion and hobby. I love to learn and do practical application to pinpoint my mistakes and make it better. You guys are my inspiration and I thank you for it! God Bless!
God damn man now I have to try it
i am from the UK i lived in Atlanta for 3 years. what I miss the most is a good old fashioned bbq shout out to Jim and Nicks. Cant wait to come back and stuff my face
3:30 "Don't get in any hurry. Go ahead & plan on your whole day being laid back & taking it easy & taking care of your meat." - perfectly describes my weekends. I should make a business out of it...
Lmfao
🤭😜
One of the great benefits of living in the South.
The only reason I want to travel to the US. To experience culinary culture especially in the south
Not all heroes wear capes
fucking truth lmfao
The real heroes allways wear aprons. Respect.
Yeah! Some wear aprons and some use mops in their bbq. Wait WHAT?!
Andy Zhang but that all have a special power.
Rich Homie Tron takes one to know that.
Holy shit, they're like the fcuking Avengers
Hahaha
Hahaha. Might make a boring movie though. Who are they going to fight, the vegans. Come on they eat leaves and twigs, they'll never be able to keep up in a fight against the pit master avengers. Lol.
LMAO!
lol
+Anthony L realtalk
"Be laid back and takin it easy just takin care of your meat." Words to live by.
Some traditions must be cherished and preserved forever. This is one of them.
My two boys are desperate to go to America for a holiday,we're from the UK. These places look amazing...this is where to go! Stuff going to Disneyland.Great food, great passion and I'm sure great hospitality.Thankyou for the inspiration!
Visit the spots in North Carolina!!
There's always Disney World in Florida. 6 hrs from Scotts in South Carolina. By the way that's a short distance in the U.S. unlike the UK where it takes 3 hrs to go to Wales.
Hotspots in America are similar to that of the UK, not worth it and large amounts of money for cheap work. Head to somewhere small and experience an authentic reality instead of supporting money hungry giants that pay everyone minimum wage for a fake experience.
Just don't go to a big city if you want this type of food. Find a small town that seems run down then find the bbq place.
Florida has Disney World, but also true southern bbq. Along with river shacks that sell catfish, gator tail etc. Low taxes and no pleasure police. Fl is the best bang for the buck.
this is one of those great american traditions that you don't find anywhere else
+dogstar167 We think so, too!
Argentina?
Argentina, Uruguay and Rio Grande Do Sul. Those places have the best bbq and the best meat in the world. Uruguay is unarguably the number 1 when it comes to the best quality meat that you'll ever find.
Yes I agree. Large scale or in your back yard over the smoke with patience and time it all works out. And few beers to as well to chill.
"american" "tradition" hahahah... yeah
I made some slow cooked pork loin on my grill when my ex-wife's sister and her boyfriend came down.
I can vouch for the whole "being in a good mood" translating to the meat.
The loin came out with a beautiful crust, tender, moist, and a great smoke ring. My sister-in-law's boyfriend praised my dish to high heaven.
Def gave me the bug. Been planning on building my own bonafide bbq pit in the near future.
These guys are the real deal - no fancy gimmicks or bs just good old school bbq.I am trying to emulate you guys over here in N Ireland.Big up to all of yoou Southern school smokers:-)
Love seeing family traditions being passed on.
I have never been to southern US, but I heard BBQ is their specialty.
It's pretty delicious, Scott - you may want to make a trip.
Grew up in Georgia and have family all over the south. You gotta make a trip down at some point. North Carolina, South Carolina, GA, Tennessee, Alabama, even Texas all have amazing BBQ.
The parts of the South that had the most slaves have the best food. Take that to the bank.
Scott Amon where im from its mexican food and BBQ. I prefer BBQ any day though! I worked in Mexican restaurants but now a bbq restaurant.. NO COMPARISON!!!
Went to Rodney’s a few days ago. It’s great to see such a good dude making it big.
Charleston SC has one of the best BBQ scenes, we got Rodney Scott, John Lewis (Lewis bbq, from Franklin's orginally) serving Texas style and Home team all with in about a mile of each other. Don't think it can get any better than that
A severely honest video, gotta love BBQ produced with generations of love in the South.
BBQ is about good times with good people. Completely sums up my love of bbq!!
@2:07 "You must be in a good mood, if you're in a bad mood when you're cookin', you're about to screw somethin' up."
A-freaking-men right there.
God I'd love to sit down with these guys for a beer, and a ton of their barbecued goods.
SuperSuperAllons god you’re weird i feel you’re from California
They all have this zen about themselves no arrogance
@@gonzalo4658 Miles off chief. About 5300 miles off.
@@SuperSuperAllons93 Tokyo?
Scott's doesn't even need a sign! Everyone knows who and where it is!! Love this!
J Ward The sign's just there for people who are on vacation. =)
J Ward

In New York I say the hole in the wall always got the best food
Bbq in the south (USA) is a true art form......... Damn im hungry lol
Man I love their passion. I could listen to anybody talk about anything as long as their passionate about what they speak of
I'm getting old, I can watch these shows all day
I just added Scott’s BBQ to my bucket list. I hope to get there later this year.
This is a prime example when you love to do ,what ever you do for a living life is good ? Food looks delicious 🤤 great 👍🏼 job guys 👍🏼 god bless y’all .
Imagine getting all of these dudes together and having a beer with them! THAT would be friggin AWESOME!!
"If you are in a bad mood while you cooking... You 'boutta screw something up." That's so true! That's why I always listen to music when I'm cooking so things just flow.
I hope these guys and their businesses are doing good during these insane times.
Barbecue makes my soul happy. I'm a girl from Long Island New York who has lived in Florida and the Carolinas on and off throughout my life and barbecue has always been my soul the thing that is so delicious and awesome.
Try the real thing, in central or west Texas. No sauce, no direct heat. You will find that it is a whole other food, not grilled chopped pig meat with ketchup.
Try a pasta salad or maybe just the salad..
@@lancebaker1374 That's not bbq, that's smoked meat. Just like bacon ain't bbq. Been to Kreuz. Meh
@@juuk3103
C'mon man wtf?
@Jupiter111
You're a dick man. Not necessary.
"As long as it's bbq, it's good already"... Exactly right 😊
this video has brought tears to my eyes a few years ago love it... Love and passion is key
Maryland here stoped in last month and every thing was sooo good.skins was the best i ever had.keep up the good work scott and crew.
I love how he says about never cooking in a bad mood, cool stuff, and how he says about nothing's wasted like the wood that's donated and then they get a free meal on the weekend and stuff, just nice, and I bet the smell when it's all cooking is intoxicating it's so gorgeous =P
And the guy who says, you can't be too aggressive with the food and you just gotta let it cook, chill out and let it go, "let it go, let it go" ; )
"BBQ" and "Beer" life don't get no better than that !
I like that phrase, I have challenging days, but not bad! True words.
All hale the Kings & Queens of BBQ... we love ya... you make the world a better place!
"You use a mop for the sauce, nice. Where's your mop for the floor?"
"Whaddya mean?"
Same one.
😂😂👊
Yall are living my dream cant beat cooking over a fire I'm thinking of possibly starting my own bbq cooking business thanks to you guys
I've had food all round the world...but man I can't get over my southern BBQ. Love from down south GA
Greeting from Ireland. I am going to barbecue this weekend. I will have to buy disposable barbecue trays while they are at reduced prices at this time of year. I can't wait to barbecue on Sunday.
That looks so damn tasty. Australia needs this.
Been all over the south. Been to a few bbq tournaments. Best BBQ I have ever had in my life belongs to Robert's BBQ in Haskell, Oklahoma. Everyone around here cried when that man died, we all still drool to this day thinking about his bbq and the recipes he took to the gave with him. One of his ex-wives has tried to duplicate his success with no luck. She's not even close. If someone can get me some bbq like Roberts, man, they'll have to be damn good.
I live about 25 minutes away from Scott's BBQ and I LOVE it!!!
Have a plate for us, Kristen!
Scott's in south Carolina is legendary. they only charge 8 bucks a pound too! people come far as Georgia to eat there
That's what's up, spread the great news.
thats what i love about bbq - aside from the amazing taste and feeling that comes from good bbq - people from all walks of life come to eat at the pit. I miss southern bbq - we live in seattle - nothing here even comes close and the seafood is not cheap.
They might have different recepies or different opinions, but they all breathe smoke.
I love it when people take their time. And these guys are just cool on another level.
I really enjoy watching the different cooking styles and the best part of it all is the end product.
4:16 This gentleman is like the Ben Carson of BBQ.
must... get... to... hemingway!!! Scotts look great
"must... get... to... hemingway" Huh???????????
Lance Baker shutup
Scotts is dank.
Where there is happiness and laughter, there is a BBQ.
BBQ making is a talent! So much love and ingenuity :)
"I like to take care of my meat"
BBQing is so therapeutic wish we had some good pit masters is CA San Diego. You gotta do it yourself
I want to go to all these places - YUMMY!
It takes a different breed to love that fire.
Just 2 things in the world can make people stay together,, music and food.. Can bring people knows together with smile and happiness
so we use a MOP...... 1:52
+Federigo de la zion if they don't mop the meat, you're in the wrong place. That's not a joke.
+FlyBoyBigBlue Using any mop, you're in the wrong place. Check Franklin's BBQ. Best brisket ever(ranked top brisket), salt and pepper only.
TheChamp531 I'm speaking of places that apply a sauce. In Texas, the stockyards are pretty important, so you're going to see beef brisket made straight up, and I'll agree, brisket is great that way. However, not sure how much Bon Appetite knows about southern BBQ... I mean, French classic cuisine sure, but BBQ? haha Also, your example has 2 locations, that's another negative in the BBQ world. I'm in no way saying Franklin's is bad, I've never had it, just that I'm pretty sure my example still stands that if they're using some other funky process rather than just a guy who looks like he's worked the smoker for years using simple tools, you're in the wrong place. However, as a true southerner, I like a little mop on my hog. In more ways than one, hey now! haha
+Federigo de la zion I ate at Scotts BBQ, where they use the mop, for the first time about 3 weeks ago and lemmie tell ya it is special. IF you ever find yourself in the back woods of Hemmingway South Carolina you have to go to Scotts.
+Federigo de la zion When you cook that much whole hog you do it right or you go home.
Live in Uruguay but i sure would like to taste a Southern BBQ. Greetings.
Joins all classes. Love that. True storry
I lived in the south for 5 years, now I'm thinking about bringing the food, culture & feel of the south to my country. However, I know nothing about BBQing. I have A LOT to learn. But I think it'll be a good investment, specially since people here haven't experienced anything like it.
Everyone has the best recipe. Would love to try it!
Kind of funny when the black guy said "take things back to the way they used to be"
Lol.I'm screaming.i can't with you! I think he forgot how things used to be
Yeah, after slavery and before black lives matter.
Due What? You mean segregation?
LOL
Good to see my hometown of Decatur being put on the map.
All these guys are basically already in the Hall of Fame. I can't handle this.
Scott's BBQ is the absolute best!
OK
+jody miner It is the best period.
FatalAnimal yes it is!
jody miner I live 25 minutes away from Scott's and I love their bbq too!
Franklin is 10 times the barbecue of Scotts.
Great video,Im real hungry now,Thanks from Mansfield,Texas !!!! :):)
Luke Pate We're glad you enjoyed it!
:)
+Southern Living They should not call them pitmasters anymore. If you call anyone a master that is a slave word and it makes folk think that they own slaves.
+haywood jeblome A master is someone who has perfected their trade....
Leighann Anderson It also means a slave owner so you are not suposed to use that word anymore.
2:05-2:16. Literally words to live my life by. Heck yes, Rodney Scott. You get an A+ in my book brother.
As long as it's barbecue, it's a winner already 👌👍
Gained 15 pounds since I started cooking with my smoker :( but making lots of ppl really happy with my bbq cooking :)
Screw Cali & New York... next time if I ever visit the states... I'm going on a Southern food adventure
Advection357 it won't disappoint! Lived here my whole life and wouldn't want it any other way
Believe it or not there is actually great BBQ in New York as well
bootstrap52 you make me laugh
don't whack what you haven't tried
bootstrap52 When I take clients from the northeast down to the south for bbq, they always say they now realize what bbq should taste like, and usually try to take some back on the plane 😂. Nothing compares to classic southern bbq
I love variety. I would love to try all of these foods.
I would love to make a road trip in the South and visit all this places and try to eat everything. This look so good.
