  • Knowing that the removal of the last 10 miles of tracks was inevitable. From the EAGLE MOUNTAIN RAILROAD. we went out to explore it with my friend TOTO but this trip was non-stop from Ferrún to where the last stretch of tracks was and where the machinery was. You will see this in the second part of this video. passing the coachela channel. The outward journey went very well but on the way back we decided to take Little Fox Railcart to the extreme at full throttle. And don't stop where the tracks are covered by the path that runs along the canal. There are two of us. The first one we passed in the air but the second one we derailed and a little strong. but nothing happened to us. And the Railcart without damage, well, after all, all that follows is adrenaline! They were unforgettable minutes !! Eagle Mountain forever. Hundreds of times I've been!!

Being from the UK where we barely have enough track for actual trains to run on, i can only dream of doing something like this! I'd absolutely love to do something like this.
So many questions though, like do you have to have a license of any kind to ride the rails? How is that thing powered (it seems really quiet). How come you've not used traditional train wheels?
I've only just found your channel so i guess I have ALOT of catching up to do. Keep on riding! :)

For the record, an "abandoned" railroad is still the property of "somebody," either a public authority, Federal, State, or local by reversion of ownership, grant, or confiscation (tax delinquent possession) or land title. Trespass (on a railroad property used for public commerce) is illegal.
That said, the owner and police authority is still responsible to protect the rights of ownership.
The cart riders typically custom build their carts to their specifications with little or no consideration for safety, durability, or dependability Consider the difference between a "foxy" rail cart and a fully equipped Hi-rail vehicle. The latter is used by the trained personnel employed or authorized by a railroad, while El Zorrillo, no matter how much fun,is akin to a toy or rollerblades someone might use to skate up and down your driveway.
Accept the risk with vigor and aplomb or don't. I hope I never read an epitaph of a cart rider.

I realize you’re having the time of your life BUT
If you seriously crash, where one or several of you are critically hurt and the cart is completely destroyed, i.e. Wheels off or cart split. How are you going to get back? GPS & Satellite phone????
Or getting bit by rattlesnake on side of track or when parked???

very good question !!! but the only answer I have is: if all this happened to me, I would have to improvise. That is my answer. The danger is in daily life. The only thing I carry is water. some tools. and a radius.

Not qualified to run on track.
There are organizations like North American Rail Car Owners Association (NARCOA)that would bar you for being wreckless and unsafe traveling at the speed you do over dirt crossings and structures with disregard for your passengers safety and yourself.
#1 Rule is SAFETY FIRST!!! ALWAYS!!!
Especially if you go out on out of service track that hasn't seen traffic and is your FIRST TIME!
#2 RULE, Be prepared to STOP within the half sight range of obstructions, ie; misaligned switches, bridges, dirt crossings.
All it takes is a good size stone packed against the edge of the rail to bounce off. Heat kink at the middle of wooden bridge and your airborne.
Misaligned switch points packed with brush and sand will ruin your day especially when someone is following TO Close TO STOP AND CRASHES INTO YOU.
SLOW DOWN, COMMONSENSE GOES ALONG WAY AND YOU MAY LIVE TO TALK ABOUT IT.
