It's amazing how quickly babies change, especially when you compare it to how slowly we change as adults!!

Whoa! The point you made about men being asked what their hobbies are and women being asked about guilty pleasures is such a good one! I've struggled my whole life with allowing myself to relax and not feel guilty. I want to be a relaxed woman!

Curious babies tend to have a harder time sleeping in loud places. My friends baby is like that, will only sleep when she has all of her criteria for comfort met, one of those being quiet.

What you said about "women having hobbies" really resonated with me. I moved earlier this year after living in a tiny attic apartment for 5 years, and my new place has lots of place for me actually setting up a desk and do my hobbies. And for a while after the move my sister in law made a lot of snarky comments about and how I have so much weird stuff for "all my hobbies" implying they are frivolous and stupid. It really hurt me, but after thinking about it I don't think she really gets to do any hobbies in her home because she is always busy with her work, house, and three kids. Her husband on the other hand? He has multiple hobbies that he's had ever since before the children. It really made me feel quite bad for her because it feels like she only gets to define herself through her salary work and her raising her children.

Very true, sadly. One of the many reasons I'm happy with my decision to only have one child is because there will be more 'me' left over after all I have to/get to do for my son. I also have a supportive husband who is a team player, this isn't the case for a lot of women/moms. If my husband gets hobbies, I do too!

my granddaughter is almost 10 months. she can get up on her knees and hands, but she never figured out crawling. she does the army crawl where she's laying down, pushing with one foot and pulling with both arms. she's recently figured out pulling herself to standing, so i'm sure she will be walking soon. her mother and uncles all walked at 9 months. she is almost always happy, has slept thru the night for months and still sleeps well for her naps. she is the joy of my life. so glad you get to enjoy your little monkey.

I took domperidon for 18 months and it was like a miracle medication for me. It made a huge difference. It didn’t solve the problem completely for me, but between a ton of pumping the whole time and cosleeping, the meds really helped me keep lactating for as long as I did.

This was a fun video! He's growing so big and it's fun to see him rolling around and popping up to see in front of him! I'm sorry but I did have a chuckle at his rolling around during diaper changes! That's so typical and it can become quite the circus at times!
I don't blame you for not wanting to give up bf just yet even though there are struggles! That is such a connection that it's hard to stop most of the time (emotionally) even in the best of circumstances!
I hope your trip with the nine moms and babies went well and that Oryn slept better for you during the stay!
Thanks for making these and showing all the changes that can happen so quickly!
I'm curious, do you still plan to make a video about your bf journey and how its been for you? I feel like you'd really be a great support for moms that are struggling with it since you've been through it (still are), with various struggles with supply, his weight, the various formulas, the allergy and figuring that out, etc. You always do a great job explaining things and giving the support through these that others can benefit from! 😊

If you want to increase supply, using a lact-aid or other supplementor works better than bottles. If you keep small containers of the cleaning steps (soapy water and vinegar and water, I think? It’s been a while.), you can just chuck the Emory ones in and leave them to soak until you have time to wash.
You can fill 24 hours worth once a day and then clean them once or twice and it works well.
You can make a simple homemade version by inverting a bottle nipple and sticking some small tubing down into the milk and the other end in baby’s mouth along with the nipple…inexpensive and works very similarly.

I love Good Omens! I don’t care what they are, in my heart they both are asexual and I love it!
When my niece was 18 months old, we did a car trip with her. She slept the whole 1h45 and I can’t imagine for one second having to stay quiet for that amount of time. That said, when I was a kid I never once slept in a car. Doesn’t matter what the circumstances, doesn’t matter if it was a 3h trip, I never once slept in a car, even as a baby (I know because I heard my mother tell this story approximately 1000 times). The first time I slept in a car, I was 19 years old.

Haha I have a 3,5 month old who lets go off the boob every couple of seconds while feeding so I understand the struggle 😅
We are going to look at the nursery next summer as we want her to stay at home until she is 1,5 years old and you cannot sign up earlier than 6 months in advance. I am really happy that we can stretch it out this much here in Sweden.
I totally agree that raising a kid is quite a humbling experience, of course you can try to follow some rules but a lot depends on a baby so you have no choice but adjust to her/him.
I got tears in my eyes when you read that quote, it is soooo true and I am also trying to remember that I need to get rest too. So recently when I have a choice to clean up or take a long shower I pick the latter. Hopefully I will soon get enough courage to leave the little one with the dad for a couple hours and go out 😅
I am currently reading “Self-reg”. I have a tendency to mirror other people’s mood so I get pretty wind up if my baby is crying longer than half an hour, and I find some of the stuff in the book quite useful.

I love that you say Rolly Polly when you change him, I can't remember any other mom I've heard say that, other than my mom, she used to do that with me & I said it to my niece when I had custody of her. We also said "pop a wheelie" when you bump the bum up to slide the new diaper under

We did a lot of overnights/travel when our kids were around that age. The only thing that saved us was a portable sound machine so it's the exact same at home or away. Also of course trying to mimic the same night routine wherever. We try to put the crib/bassinet somewhere they can't see our bed if possible, or we would hide in the bathroom until they fell asleep and then creep in 😂. Not trying to give advice, just saying what helped us! ❤😊

There is no training that has worked, he just does not sleep ever... 14:26 it's a mixture of octopus with wild alligator, fun 🤣 33:45 I'm sure you've tried everything but in case you haven't tried this one, sometimes it helped my pumping to do it after a hot bath 💕 Thanks for sharing, Oryn is so cute!!

Oryn is so cute! I miss my not so little baby, my daughter is 15.5 months old and is now 81.2 cm tall. I miss when she was easier to hold. I love that quote, but I am not a relaxed woman. I don't know how to relax, it could be the ADHD, the postpartum anxiety and depression or all three. My mother also is not a relaxed woman either. I asked my Mom to come and help organize my daughters toys yesterday and she helped with that and then joyfully started cleaning my house. She cannot relax.
Also I boost my milk supply through power pumping. I ended up exclusively pumping and this has helped me maintain supply even on my period. It may help you too. All you have to do is pump 20 minutes, rest for 10 minutes, pump for 10 minutes, rest for 10 minutes, and pump for 10 more minutes and you're done. You might not get alot in the last 10 minutes, but this mimics cluster feeding. You will have to do this 2-3 times a day for a couple of days. Hands free pumps work the best, just because you can do other things while you pump. Just thought it would be worth a mention.

Won't tell you how to feel... But.. When you want to do something... But it is harder... That's whe you can be PROUD of yourself and take a big fat WIN!
I found expressing produced next to nothing (10mls was my tops!). As I'm disabled we mix fed. And yeah.. I hoped to do it 'naturally'... But it was hard. I'm proud of myself as it was harder... I fed my daughter breast milk till she was 17 months and I'm proud to tell her that.
Hope you can feel super proud xxx

I wasn't able to BF my first two due to low supply. I really pushed for #3 and was prescribed domperidone and it worked wonders. I still supplemental with formula but was able to BF ril she was two. The LC recommended 3 pills 3x a day and that really helped

When Oryn sits in his Kaos Klapp chair, do his feet reach onto the first step? I had been looking into the Kaos Klapp after seeing you recommendation, because we also have a small flat and I love its functionality. However I haven't found any information about the placement of the steps and if they're high enough to support the feet of a "beginner sitter".

    • @preciousstarsvlogs
      @preciousstarsvlogs  9 месяцев назад

I don't think they did when he first went into it, but they do now. I didn't have any issues with him not touching them because he was still able to sit and eat. It was quite a short period of time, and I probably could have stuck something on the first step if I really wanted his feet to rest on something, but I personally have never found it to actually be a big issue despite what all the weaning advice might say. He is also a small baby though so I should probably add that x

I was so lucky that my GP and his wife had babies at the same time as me. We even had the same OB. So without question he wrote me the script for domperidone as he was in the middle of it all too. He was super supportive.
My father passed away when my oldest was 3 months but with determination and a lot of baby to breast and pumping(and domperidone) ...I finally gained my supply back and nursed my first until 18 months. When she sat up and said "no fanks" 😂😂

Lactose is made at the breast so theres no eliminating it from your diet and when they are intolerant too it and your exclusively feeding, theyll become failure to thrive very quickly. Thats the biggest sign with lactose intolerance is not gaining weight at the boob. Lactose is rare though. In saying that, if have an allergy to dairy, you can eliminate from diet if you still feeding.
People forget lactose and dairy are two different things. Dairy is the protein in cows milk (not human milk), and lactose is the sugar.

Your son is so darling !! I’ve raised three children to adulthood. At this age is he eating some baby cereal with formula ?? That will help him to sleep so much better. I’ve had boys and they need to eat after 4-6 months for sure. Good luck

    • @jgr_lilli_
      @jgr_lilli_ 9 месяцев назад

Cereal in milk is not recommended anymore because it's a choking risk for some babies and it can also slow down weight gain because they get full sooner because of the fibres and don't get as much (fatty) milk. Nowadays they usually take milk and cereal/purees or pieces of "real food" seperately.
