That scene alone proves she wasn't lying when she said she wants to both save him and preserve the canon. That despite her hostility to Miles being there she is fundamentally in love with him.
But the fix to make Miles NOT say to the man that wants to murder his father and considers him a cosmic mistake...Sorry man I'm going home. That one makes sense Miles should in no way be doubting himself there or respecting Miguel in the slightest. That was a legit fix. Same with making Miles Prowler more scarred.
Everything else has no story importance so I can take or leave em.

YES.YES.YES. I’ve seen so many people say stuff like “Gwen doesn’t care about Miles” and “Miles cares about Gwen more than Gwen cares about him” which is completely wrong. If anything, Gwen cares more about Miles as she literally thought about him and looked at that one photo of him for over a year, and went to see him even when she was told not to. On the other hand, Miles occasionally drew her and mentioned her a few times. I’m sure if Miles knew about how Gwen obsessed over him for a year he’d literally faint. Also Gwen was so flustered and relieved when she saw Miles’s drawings of her because it showed her that Miles thought of her (almost) just as often as Gwen thought of him. Lmao I can’t wait for the people who say Gwen is a traitor to start switching up on her when BTSV comes out it’s gonna be so fun to watch.
You've got it all right! Gwen was definitely obsessed with Miles, and she put that photo of them together in the same place she kept her suit so she would see it everyday. It'll definitely be fun to watch all the people switch up on her when BTSV comes out lol
I think it's inherently wrong and unfair to say either love each other more or less than the other. Miles occasionally drawing her? He draws her everywhere...Literally everywhere. He clearly thought about her a lot...Alongside his guilt for Aaron's death. The only reason he mentions "Gwanda" last is because his first thought isn't friendship but crush/attraction...But even mentioning her over the others is important as she and Peter matter the most to him.
But that did end the second she admitted to believing he's a cosmic mistake with no excuse or justification and siding against him to cause his father's death...That would be the point he seemingly no longer cares. While from Gwen's position after realizing how they were wrong about literally everything her love for him is reinforced.
They've switched places from the beginning (ITSV) when Miles was into her but she wasn't then they were both into each other but couldn't/wouldn't work together (most of the film) to she's into him more than ever before but he's well...I'm not gonna assume he hates her because he never stated that (the end of the film).
If anything I assume Miles is just in shock and disappointed and questioning if there was anything ever real there from either party. That he's wondering if he ever really truly knew her and if she ever truly knew him. He just broke off the relationship and booked it out...He doesn't want to harm her in any measure even when they're actively invalidating and attacking him. His resort is just to say goodbye...Probably because he doesn't believe he'll ever see her again because we know from the Earth 42 swinging scene he's actually wondering if they're right that if he saves his father they'll just die.

Miles definitely thought about Gwen a lot but c’mon, Miles has tons of people around him, Gwen only has her dad and Miles. The reason Gwen obsessed over him so much is because he’s the only person who befriended her when she thought she didn’t want any friends. When Gwen and the other spider people left Miles’s dimension, Miles wasn’t really that sad about it. He wanted to learn quantum physics and attend a school in New Jersey so he could see them again but he never really felt depressed or alone without them. On the other hand, Gwen thought of Miles pretty much every day. She kept that one photo of him and cherished it every day. It’s not like Miles was obsessing and thinking about Gwen every single day hoping to see her again, but Gwen definitely did think about Miles every day, as we see in her backstory. The reason Gwen is so desperate to redeem herself is because she has nobody. Miles can eventually forget about Gwen. Gwen has more to lose than Miles. As I said before, Miles has many people around him. Gwen however has nobody except her dad, Hobie, maybe Pavitr or Peter B, and Miles who is mad at her right now. If Gwen loses Miles she’ll most likely be depressed and feel alone like how she did when the movie started. And Gwen also realized her mistakes and wants to make up for it because it’s the right thing to do.
(This might change when the short film comes out)
In the beginning, Gwen kinda liked Miles and Miles had a crush on Gwen. In the end they decided to just stay friends. As you said, they switched places. Gwen has a massive crush on Miles and thinks about him all the time, Miles has a small crush on Gwen and wanted to learn quantum physics so he could see her and the other spider people again. I definitely think Gwen will redeem herself in BTSV and they could potentially (definitely) get together.

You're forgetting that his single friend Ganke is barely supportive (really isn't), He draws Gwen a lot more than the others and never mentions them besides Peter, He's getting into fights/arguments with his parents literally taking a "Whatever" approach to everything, He dropped his favorite hobbie and study of art to fully study physics to unlock that dimensional travel...He ain't doing that for Ham or Noir and it's another point of contention because he's dropping in his grades in all his classes including the vitally important Spanish that he knows would piss his mother off.
There is more than enough evidence to showcase yes he very much cares. They both care that's kinda the point...They both love each other but they both hurt one another because their love didn't equal understanding. She didn't realize his father isn't an option or choice...If he must die trying he'll die trying. She also didn't realize he could be reasoned with if honest because Peter B almost did it.
He didn't realize what her reservation is about because he doesn't know that she accidentally killed Lizard Peter the only other friend she ever had, He doesn't know that the argument with her father wasn't just an argument but him trying to arrest her (*correction he knows about him trying to arrest her but not that she revealed her identity), He doesn't know that she thought about him for a year and 4 months (too), He doesn't know for a fact she's not with Hobie, He doesn't know that what Gwen meant by fall for Spider-Man she means Gwen always dies.
He is clueless to the most important details to explain Gwen's actions. He's not a mind reader he can't just realize magically why she's able to think and operate the way she does.
He wouldn't forget about her...He can't and doesn't. It's been a year and four months if he could've done that he would've done that by now. The truth is that he doesn't actually have that much better of a life...His Spider-Man life has been a string of failures and mistakes. He does have his parents which is the sole part where he's blessed compared to the other...Problem is he takes them for granted and pushes them away (which is definitely part of the reason he can't let them die because he can't leave it at that). He's haunted by the death of Uncle Aaron just as much as Peter's Ben and Gwen's Peter haunt them with the added facet of having good and terrible memories from it because he was both a supportive family member and villain...He just buried it deeper but it's 100% there.
You saying he doesn't love her as much is just wild to me. I don't understand how...He's the one that literally noted when she was depressed that they're the same in all the ways that matter and there's a first time for everything. He's the one holding back tears when he says goodbye Gwen...If he didn't love her he wouldn't address her he wouldn't feel so deeply betrayed. After she invalidated his very existence and demanded his father must die...He still shows he cares in some measure which if that's not deep love I don't know what is. Because most people hearing that they'd despise her...As you see from negative reactions a lot of people do.
But Miles isn't one of them. He loves her...That's the exact problem. He doesn't know how to synthesize that with everything else. He really can't because he doesn't have all the facts...That indicates yeah her love and pain is deep too.
Miles is destined to lose his father, his mother and Gwen herself. So yeah I don't think it's right to say she has more to lose/lost more. Right now they're even depending on if Blonde Peter and her mother Helen count (they should). With destiny trying to claim the rest of both of their families and Gwen. If it happens then Miles loses more long term...Which Gwen's would actually be the one that fundamentally breaks him. We know from other realities he can endure Rio's and Jeff's loss though he does darken. But Gwen's...Nah that one's would be really really bad. Because there's no question he'd react like Andrew "I stopped holding back" = Mass Murder. If anything turns him into a Villain it'd be Gwen's death.
@@flamesofchaos13 I said Gwen cares more about Miles than Miles cares about Gwen, because saying that’s the case RIGHT NOW. If in BTSV Gwen redeems herself, I’m sure Miles will love her more. Miles still loves her right now, but yeah as you said he just feels really betrayed. They both love each other equally but at this point in time, Miles feels betrayed and can’t trust Gwen until she redeems herself and Miles finds out her actual story. Then I’m sure they will trust each other again but right now, Gwen cares more.
Everything about these two is a joy to watch. I notice that during their "date" swinging throughout Brooklyn, Gwen constantly keeps looking back at Miles. It is like she doesn't want to lose sight of him, or better, needs confirmation that he's there.
The way they light up one another's worlds. They feel so alive together. How could you not see how strong their love for one another is. They have so much standing in their way , and yet, they're still trying to make it work.
They won't end up together, though. They foreshadowed it in Across The SPiderverse

I think about one comment I've read a few hours ago:
Miles has a huge crush on Gwen.
And Gwen falls in love slower than him, but her love is still very strong due to that.
Think Gwens way of love is a little more mature than Miles', but it's still as much as his love.
Also: You can see that they are clearly "synchronized" during their swinging through 1610-Brooklyn. You can see the art style of Miles' city, but it is blurred with Gwens colors, too. The backgrounds are a little 'pinker' as long as she is on 1610.
I'm not sure that Gwen's way of love is more "mature", but it is certainly more direct, and also distant at the same time.
Gwen isn't as emotionally intelligent as Miles since she's been holding her feeling back for so long from everyone in her universe. She hasn't explored what it's like to fall hard for someone and Miles happens to be the guy that breaks through her armor, by literally doing nothing special other than be himself!!
Given her inexperience in exploring emotional expression, she is kinda making up her own playbook as she goes, and for the most part it works.
In reality, Miles does exude that high level of maturity "beyond his years" by never trying to push Gwen into anything she doesn't want. That's maturity and high emotional control for a 15 boy who's crushing hard!!

Just wanted to add something. When Gwen is looking off in the city before she enters the portal, I think she’s actually looking at the big illuminated rooftop in the distance-the Morales party. So in a way, she is talking directly to Miles.
Personally even although she said she wouldn’t go see him again I feel like she’d have definitely eventually just went back. She wouldn’t have been able to stop herself her first chance to go to his dimension over a year later she instantly goes straight to him in his own room
@@adamboy0559 The watches are monitored by Miguel every step of the way. She was only allowed there once for the mission she was on. She would never be allowed back. The only way she would've ever seen him again is to reject the Society and get Hobie to build her a watch. Miguel would find out and then target them both...Different path same conclusion the Society is their enemy, The Spot will seek to end them all no matter what as well especially her as he promised everything Miles loves which includes Gwen. Then if she took too long and Miles parents are already dead and he finds out she knew and didn't warn him...He'd never forgive her. Only reason she still has a chance is they're not dead yet.

Even if it was with a new watch hobie made or the one Miguel gave her she’d have went back. The society may have gave her a greater purpose but she didn’t enjoy it. You can see her entire mood change as soon as she’s with Miles and though she knows he ain’t meant to be on nueva York she’s happy he’s there. She finally has her best friend with her again.

They literally monitor them he saw the entire date from Gwen entering Miles room to the party at the Morales's...He was watching the recording of Gwiles before he switched to the recording of "his" daughter. He also had recordings of the entire events of Into the Spider-Verse...Someone was already working with Miguel back then probably Peter B.
He sees everything, He knows everything they do. He's a patient man willing to wait for when he punishes you. He was angry at both of them...He didn't kick out Gwen for one offense he kicked her out for multiple in a row.
Yeah because Gwen was conflicted between them the entire time. She believes in the canon and believes Miles is too reckless/naive, But she's also fundamentally in love with Miles which makes her reckless/naive.

The Irony is if Gwen had just done her mission to prevent the Spot then go see Miles afterwards...None of this would've happened. Miles dad would live, Miguel would be proven wrong, Miles would never dimension hop making him a target of Miguel and his cult. Miguel was at least for the time being letting Miles chill on 1610-B (though given he believes he's an anomaly everywhere and the source of the problem for the entire Multiverse's problem he would eventually get tired of it and teleport to Miles world to kill him as he gets more and more unhinged looking for a permanent solution).
@@flamesofchaos13 yeah that’s recorded he doesn’t see everything at all times live. So she’d have time to go and find a solution to hide it before he gets around to seeing what she was up to. Likely the only reason he even was watching was after he found out Gwen went and that spot escaped. Otherwise if spot was dealt with he’d have no reason to check the recordings. He only checks to see what went wrong knowing spot escaped and is still put there. Peter B likely filled him in on the first movie after he reached out to him originally. We know Miguel has known Peter B for a long time now and likely was one of his first recruits. He likely described what was happening due to a universes collider breaking the multiverse and Peter since he was there and experienced it all filled him in on exactly what went down and more importantly the others that included Gwen and that she seemed to show affection to miles and this is why Miguel is reluctant to invite her to the society originally. She’d have definitely went against Miguel to go see him even if it got her sent home she would atleast be able to tell him the truth about what he is and he’d still trust her for this
Idk how people can watch ATSV and come away from it thinking Gwen doesn't love Miles with the same yearning and affection he feels for her. Like. C'mon. They miss each other so much, they bond about so many things, they can talk emotionally and maturely and she has so much guilt about what happened to him because of the rest of Spider-Society and her role in it. Like. They've been building this up so well. I love it.

It's because she hurt him due to Miguel's influence, completely forgetting that a friendless teenager who has been basically abandoned by her only family would be susceptible to surface level virtuous dogmas told to her by the people who basically saved her while she was at her lowest point.
Another thing during the up side down kiss homage scene the two holes at the background hints at their world being collided with each other. Another thing in the directors commentary when Gwen leaves and before Miles decides to follow her the directors said Miles was thinking to stay home or follow his destiny. They literally called Gwen his destiny
Gwiles is a Canon Event. Miles ending up on 42 is a Canon Event. Miguel told him there's Good ones and Very Bad ones.

Canon Events can't be completely BS narratively...The result of breaking them leading to destruction can be. But the Events themselves should 100% be a thing...Because they're the 280+ Spiders of the Society have been experiencing them and they don't question the narrative of it.
Also you're taking what I said at face value and overly serious. By using the term canon event I just mean something that is meant to be. The Web of Life and Destiny is 100% real it's shown to you in ITSV twice. It's a thing...It doesn't work exactly like the Society thinks it does though.

I’ve never heard of their ship name as Gwiles 😂 I’ve only heard people refer to them as Macey (Miles+ Stacey or Morales+Stacey) but now thinking on it, you can’t do much with their names without making it sound odd.
@@AdamIshak01 the most popular as of ASTV is ghostflower. A lot of people disliked the name Gwiles in the first place so everybody used the release of atsv to get the name ghostflower popular.
It's rare I've seen a ship name successfully changed after the fact but it definitely worked here.

Gwen and Miles are my favorite ship of all time. It is so clear how much they are completely in love with each other and I swear they better get together in Beyond The Spider-Verse! I love all the GhostFlower content there is out there and yours is the best!

Gwen & Miles will pull through. I also realized how cool Hobie was when you think back to the Gwen and Miles scene sitting down and catching up and she says that she’s been staying with Hobie and she says thats different. Hits you right in the stomach think the worse. Then you think back to the beginning 20 minutes of set up that Gwen only wanted to see Miles especially after Peter died. Once she got the watch it was probably the first thing that she thought about, then they told her about Miles. Hobie heard about Miles anomaly as well, important for the information below. Hobie was there as a big brother, who is over aged, listening to Gwen, underaged, talk about Miles constantly. Gwen also wanted to avoid the conversation about her dad and how she can’t go back, she’s homeless and her father believes she’s a murderer and is ashamed to tell the one person she holds so close, Miles. She probably would’ve before but is confused and in pain that she can’t tell Miles about his situation. Hobie also left a watch for Gwen, Hobie said f 1:03 off and left way before they took Gwen’s watch. He knew that she was going do anything possible to save the person she loves. Beautiful writing. Creates doubt about a possible romance with Hobie but then you think taking all points into consideration: age wise (no we don’t want to think Hobie a pedo), circumstances of the beginning of the movie, I also don’t want to think Hobie took advantage of someone in such a mental state it would put down as scum, also Hobie pink. My theory for Hobie turning pink with Miles is that Hobie is Miles fanboy, I know I know but continue for the following reasons 1: he heard all about Miles from Gwen 2.Miles is the original anomaly, the first fuck you to the fabric of reality. 3 they tell us how much of anarchist Hobie is, he probably knew shit was going to go down because Miles was going to rebel. He made a watch left it for Gwen, and is on the Miles Recovery Team. He probably has Miles way up there on f the world I’ll follow him and cause chaos not for the sake of chaos but for the sake of giving a middle finger to the universe on cannon events. If I were the writers I would make Hobie’s cannon event a flashback really tragic that would put him in the I can’t accept that cannon events are real but knew he couldn’t do anything about it until he heard about Miles. It shows that he’s been planning everything for his sake and for the sake of helping Miles and Gwen break the cannon.

About the music part: in the song Self Love, the lyrics LITERALLY SAY "came to the city for the love, got her hurtin' now" and "self love, he don't love himself tryna love me" LIKE CMON MAN THEY WANT TO KISS SO BAD DID YOU SEE HOW SHE LOOKED AT HIM AT THE CLOCK TOWER??? Gwen's body language and pink background whenever she was with miles portrayed she had already fallen for him.She was just hiding her true feelings due to canon events. But when Miles said "first time for everything " ,the longing romantic stare at him she gave was enough to convince that her hope to be with him and possibly start a relationship was not fully shattered and for atleast one time believe for the best to happen.

I truly like that miles tells gwen they are same: Gwen plays the drums and miles draws her cause they can’t stop thinking about each other, both have parent drama, understand each other, are around the same age, both act awkward and cool to try impress when with each other, they tend to get jealous, both are emotionally attached with each other, deeply personally connected ( gwen sensing miles from another dimension) and are both in love with each other.
U know what I truly love about gwen is that she is willing to offer platonic love over romance to keep miles safe throughout this movie. The reason is say that is because though Gwen loves that she is miles friend, a lot of scenes shows that Gwen wants it to be something more. Plus she said that miles is the only friend she made and calls him that throughout the whole movie. I think her referring miles as a friend is literally her way of saying to miles “ I have catch feelings for u, but can’t fall for u” because of the Gwen Stacy canon event.
But at the end miles taught her their is a first time for everything and that it’s all possible to have a relationship with him. Plus I like the change of dynamic between them because at the start miles was looking up to Gwen and jumping through a portal. At the end it’s Gwen now looking up to miles and jumping through the portal. It’s like their leap of faith into a relationship
in the scene where Gwen goes back to Miles for the first time in the movie, she says something like: you grew huh! had a little growth spurt.

Is nobody gonna mention the fact the she leaned on his shoulder UPSIDE DOWN? When you're standing upright and lean on someone, you let gravity hold you close, when you're hanging from the ceiling, you're actively fighting gravity to do so. Leaning on Miles' shoulder took incredible effort, as she had to hang from a flat surface diagonally.
To say Gwen betrayed Miles is what we call balderdash. It is pure nonsense that she betrayed him.
Here is a girl that is quite smitten with Miles. But, literally hanging out with Spider-Man will get your neck broke.
So, she is risking everything by sticking her neck out for Miles. She's thinking she's on borrowed time by even being around him. How in the world is she supposed to explain that and everything else to an eternal optimist like Miles?
No she says it herself she did betray him she admits that twice in the intro and her speech to her father. It's why she can fix things...Because she realized she messed up. How do you tell that person? Using complete honesty and sincerity...Peter B literally almost did it until Miguel's hit squad came rushing in. If Peter B can do it...The one constantly making mistakes then Gwen the love of Miles life could do it if she just committed to it without question.
But we know why she couldn't...Her trauma from her father made her lose faith in herself and love so she took reassurance in certainty and authority even if it was wrong even if she had her doubts she decided to side with them. Until she realized what they did was wrong called it out and was thrown away herself...Then she got the reunion with her father to realize nothing is certain and love matters most. Now she knows it's possible to have her cake and eat it too. Or at least try even if it kills her she'll die with the one she loves and probably kill for him too.

He's angry, scared, heartbroken...But he's not irrational and he doesn't consider them as evil. He fully understands why they're doing what they're doing...He just CAN NOT do it too. He can't just let his father die because of him. Yeah he actually agrees with Miguel that it's all his fault too.
The soundtrack is truly heartbreaking. It tells us just how much he loves Gwen, How he perceives the Society and what he was thinking when alone on his world. He loves the Spider-Gang just as much as his parents and is mentally breaking without them in his life. That context and him still doing what he's doing...Heart wrenching.
Alot of people forget about Gwen's plotline, which is a major reason why she had to lied to him in the first place. She had to follow the rules of the spider society, so doesn't have to go back to her dimension and be confronted by her dad.
Which ironically turned out to be what she needed to do to learn that canon events can be averted without destroying realities, that she's failing Miles in the same way her father failed her, That you can forgive and be forgiven even when the worst comes to pass...That there is hope. If she went home just a day earlier all of this could've been avoided. Or if she was 100% honest with Miles she would learn he's not like the other guys in her life he won't hate her or attack her...He would save the world or die trying or find some compromise with her but that is literally his choice she can't decide that for him it's not her place to.
Gwen messed up though she knows she did and will try to fix it no matter what. Problem is Miles doesn't know how much she cares and is NOT in a good place be it setting or mind...It will be a literal war to redeem herself going through Miles's misconceptions/distrust/paranoia, Other Miles and Aaron and the Supervillains of 42. Then they'll still have to deal with the Society and Spot after that.
The fact that gwen knew every relationship the alternate gwens and spidermen had always ended badly was all i needed to know it wasn't a one sided relationship. Someone's been doing her research

Gwen is textbook the person who loves someone to the moon and back, craves that closeness, intimacy, relationship and bond, but keeps a distance from that person because she's afraid that she will hurt him, the point where she will hide info and keep her distance from them. But when given the chance she is trying to get every little bit of contact with him, even if its just standing next to him or shoulder tap or a quick back pat. For people like Gwen they value the person and the time they have with them so much but they also have a giant fear that the good feelings are fleeting and highly temporary, so she distances herself to protect herself from getting too hurt, but also distancing so she might be able to minimize the hurt she might cause Miles. Is the assumption true? No. But this is something with of people with trauma do. They are overflowing with love, care and desire, but their fear of hurting their loved one is holding them hostage.
Miles and Gwen are endgame for sure.
The film across the spiderverse literally tells you that Gwen misses Miles LIKE IT SPENDS THE ENTIRE INTRO doing it and the plot kicks in because of Gwen wanting to see Miles so IT AINT ONE SIDED

The deep lore of Spider-Man is that it's literally impossible for someone to be accidentally bitten. The Spiders know who to bite, why the person is being bitten, Their entire life to come.
Further that if Miles was truly not meant to be he wouldn't have Spidey Sense or any of the powers of Spider-Man...He would've been killed as well long before he could ever act to threaten the system in play. If that isn't the case that Miles is actually Blessed not Cursed...They have far more to worry about than realities maybe crumbling as they're all guaranteed to die if the system is this broken now.
Beyond should explain it at least in part. It most certainly will explain the Glitching being a completely new thing (that is unnatural), The canonicity of The Prowler and Supervillains within the Web (the ones actually cursed to suffer), The nature of Destiny and Fate, The existence of Anomalies, Miguel himself being an Anomaly, Miles Prowler being both the greatest Canon Break and a Canon Event at the same time, The absence of Evil Variants of Spider-Man and absence of the Variants of both Gwen and Miles within the Society.

I couldn't agree more. There is one moment from Across the Spider-verse that is so subtle most would miss it but it's just before Miguel tries to trap Miles at the Spider Society and Miles says "you were right gwen, you should have never come to see me". The look on Gwen's face as he says that, it's like someone is ripping her heart out!
Go back and watch her reactions during the entire "intervention" she feels really bad about it but her face notably changes when he says "you were right Gwen". Her mouth opens in shock, her eye brows go up and she starts to tear up when he says "you should have never come to see me". It so quick but so spot on. Not only does she know she hurt him but that all this means she will lose him.
Not only that... He's just repeating what she said back at Spider-India world when Miles followed her. She said that in anger...Maybe not truly meaning it. But Miles does fully mean it.
I'm surprised by the amount of people who fail to understand it because I thought the movie made it quite obvious that they both care and have feelings for each other i mean miles has his notebook full of gwen drawings and gwen is thinking about him while making songs and also has his picture that she is looking it at to feel better and get motivated and also despite the spider society not allowing her to visit miles she did that when she got her first opportunity and also she was panicked when debrie from that building fall into miles when he rescued inspector singh and how she defended him after he escaped and also in the chase how worried she looked and when she got hobie's homemade watch she went in his dimension to help him and then she assembled an entire team to find and rescue him and yes I've mentioned mainly what gives away Gwen's feelings because I think for Miles it's more obvious he has a notebook full of her drawing she tried to impress her in the first movie with the shoulder touch (funnily enough his first interaction with gwen caused him to become spiderman because: gwen laughs at his joke he tells about her to his uncle he shows him the shoulder touch because of that he sees his drawing and to cheer him up takes him to do graffiti where he gets bitten by that spider) and how he desperately wants to meet her again and yeah i think it's obvious

Oh yeah, I know that theory; Gwen is like a unique type of anomaly or basically the catalyst for what caused the original anomaly and her mere interaction with Miles is what set in stone the events that made him become Spiderman.
People taking her siding with the society and overexagerating her relationship with hobbie to push this narrative and it's just dumb , Literaly in her conversation with miles she tells him there relationship is different and that hobie literally is just a friend to her while she and miles have a much deeper relationship, the only people suggesting it's more then that are hobie himself and pav both unreliable narrators who are clearly just messing with miles pav especially , as for the society Gwen was clearly groomed into the society way of thinking edged on by her own situation in her own universe, her siding with Miguel isn't her not caring about him it's the opposite just like Peter she's trying to protect him it just backfire but that isn't proof of lack of care just misplaced direction gwen is a teenager and doesn't have all the answers or all the right decisions, people ate blinded by main character bias to see both sides .

I think it's because there's always an obligatory love story when guy/gal are involved and it's always so ham-fisted and made obvious. Here it feels more like an actual blossoming relationship so it tends to go past some people's radar. So, tldr good writing is hard to come by ,,as ppl are used to just being told information 😆

The main difference has got to be he does take on the mantle of the Prowler and they name their daughter after Rio and Helen! At least Rio she's the Best Mom in the Multiverse her name must cross generations! I’m also think she is more in love with him than he is in love with her.
He got an obsession with her because she is confident, elegant, totally awesome, cool and gorgeous. He saw her but he didn’t really know her. Gewn, in other hand, loves him because she saw and she noticed him beyond that kid she met other day. She falls in love because she truly saw how tenacious, brave, capable, loyal he is. He was a kid but that kid become a real man and they really needed him most. When somebody thinks about someone else in every single moment, such as bad as good times, that person’s love is deep!!
By the way, she told about him to everyone she relates to. Everybody knew “the anomaly” but she told to the close ones (Hobie and her mentor) who is Miles, not the anomaly. That’s why Spider Woman saw her inside his apartment, she listened what she said to his parents and tells nothing to Miguel. And Hobie, of course, love Miles since he met him because Hobie already knew him by Gwen’s perspective.
I’m 42 yo and that kind of conversation they have I already had pretty much the same as a teenager. I noticed the looks, the touches, the nuances, the jealousy that came from her. And it’s awesome!! For exemple, when she met his parents, she touch his backs and the thumb cuddles him. Very subtle to see at first watch unless you already been through this situation.
Man, that movie is great and she is, definitely, my favorite character since Into the Spiderverse. And I began to admire Miles because I started to see him through her eyes, just like Hobie Brown.

I’m not sure if everyone caught this in the movie with the coloring, but I think it’s worth mentioning in one of your videos about this movie. When Gwen is stopped by her dad at the end of the movie the next scene shows Gwen’s spider costume with a black shading over it with red outlining the costumes eyes. I thought this represented Gwen thinking like Miles to fix her situation when she turns back to her dad.
I like the final scene where she's confident and looking happy for the first time since the intro scenes of the past at the dinner table with Peter and George...While phasing in and out of Red n Blue (Spider-Man aka herself) and Green n Purple (The Prowler aka Miles).

The logical conclusion is Miles Spidey can't be Spider-Man because he won't follow the canon of it and can't if he wants his parents and Gwen to live then he'll become the Prowler or a Hybrid where he will use the classic colors to differ from Miles 42. It's his canon event to become the Prowler and save/love Gwen...It's been hinted at since the start. He truly is different from them the part they didn't get is that's a great thing.

8:56 - When Ben got dragged into that portal, we hear the music get intense followed by the way Gwen moves so off and crushes the watch to pieces. That's not particularly heroic if I'm being honest. Granted, she is saving Miles but I think she's coming at this with anger.
Remember, she had long got indoctrinated that Canon Events were real. However the problem with Canon Events, even though this has been disproven, is that it is just an easy way for any Peter Parker or Spider-Man to shift blame on. Spider-Men should never blame others for their own screw-ups. It's why the Spider Society were so readily to accept Miguel's ideals. But it's also why Miguel continues to blame others for Miles's escape.
Like everyone has said, Gwen is not perfect. While protecting Miles and his family is good but her approach shows she is filled with rage, directed at the Spider Society for what she sees as them ruining her life and ruining her relationship with Miles.
However, it's only when she sees Miles's parents discussing about her and Miles is when she stops and think. Sure, the Spider Society was wrong for how they treated him but it's ultimately Gwen's fault for dragging him into this and didn't give him the support he needed. That's why Gwen faces Miles's parents since she no longer wants to blame others for her own screw ups. She knows that doing so might cost her any chance to be with Miles but it's the right thing to do.
Fax! They love each other. Gwen and Miles have to get together for the completely satisfying ending. This is their story. There’s so many other minor factors that also help the case as to why they should get together. I can’t wait to see their relationship become official in BTSV. Their relationship teaches so many lessons and goes through all the emotions that a real relationship would have.

(Back shot upside down on the clock tower they hold hands Gwen has her head on miles shoulder cut to front wired headphones one plug for Gwen one for miles Gwen eyes closed miles looks at Gwen and smiles)

If I can see of them narrating their story especially with miles meeting Gwen’s dad, teaching each other their own skills and maybe having a post credit scene of a time skip of them getting married. IM HAPPY.

To Gwen telling Miles would mean getting kicked out of the spider society which meant getting sent to her own dimension where her dad pointed his gun at her and tried to arrest her. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I didn't thunk this needed to be discussed given the many examples the movie gave. Her being embarassed in her first reuinion with him. Her clearly reminiscing about him in the beginning of the movie. Her getting flustered when indian spiderman said miles liked her. And the spider byte scene
Like it baffles me when people say Gwen doesn't love him. HAVE WE WATCHED THE SAME MOVIE?
Miles only interacted with Gwen for a few days in the first movie and yet has an incredible photo-reflective memory better than mine!
He had a reason to remember.

I think you forgot Miles and Gwen had taken pictures together. That’s how he was able to draw her so well.
She had the photo unless there was more than one copy. But we never saw more than one. It makes much more thematic sense if he's doing it from memory. It shows how much he cares about her in turn and that his mind really does collect a lot of info. He's a super genius the entire chase scene at the Spider-Society was a planned out move made in a few seconds...Otherwise he would've gone invisible.
I knew it from the start. I call it “Main Character Syndrome” basically how it works, is if the main character has a crush on somebody, they almost *always* end up getting together.

I really hope they do get together at the end of Beyond. I keep on worrying that at the Miles would become Prowler and it wouldn’t have a happy ending I mean that’s just wrong. Miles should become The Prowler and STILL get with her. The Prowler isn't Evil...The OG is Morally Good (He's on their side), Spider-Verse Aaron was Dark Grey (yes he was a criminal but he was a loving uncle foremost...Also when he didn't know he was Miles he was asking the kid to just hand over the drive and walk away. He didn't want to be a monster it's exactly like Miles said he didn't think he had a choice if you know Kingpin lore he DIDN'T), Insomniac Aaron is Light Grey (bad guy with good intentions converted into a good guy because of Miles), His Twin is going to be Pure Grey or Morally Good. The only one that was Pure Evil was Ultimate Comics Aaron.
Gwen loves Miles...What does it matter what mask he wears? He'd be another Morally Good Prowler with a little extra bite.
