    Anyone considering painting siding here's a few important tips: You get better results (factory finish) if you apply 2 lights coats vs 1 coat. It's vital to do 2 lights coats if painting aluminum siding to avoid runs. Never paint light colored siding a dark color, it will cause it warp. Dark over dark is fine and slightly darker over light is also fine. Spray tips come in different sizes example: .417 the first number 4 tells you the size of the spray fan . So a 4 would produce an 8" spray fan, whatever that first number is just double it to get the size of spray fan. The second number 17 stands for the size of the opening. Wagner will recommend a 17 or 19 tip size for spraying latex paints and a 13 or 15 for thinner coatings like stain. Using a size 15 spray tip for latex has some big benefits. The paint will be atomized smaller which results in any overspray drying extremely quickly, many times before it even reaches the ground.

    It’s looking sooo much better, really lovely! I’m pleased to see you didn’t paint or stain the natural stone, you went with a paint color that really makes the stone shine. I’m sure you spent more time prepping than painting! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

      Yes, painting went so fast once the prep was done haha! I'm also so happy we did not paint the stone and found a color to compliment it. I really appreciate you watching! Thank you!

      Pool Shock (sodium hypochlorite) mix 12oz in a 1 gallon sprayer with dawn dish soap (add dish soap last I just add a good amount. Wet down plants and stuff with water and watch overspray let it sit for 5-10 minutes and rise with a garden hose it will remove algae or any biological growth really well

      Hi how much paint did you use? And did you only need one coat? We're planning on doing ours 😁

      @@crownstylist4490 Using the great quality paint that we used, we only needed one coat. It's good stuff! I used 16 gallons for our ~1500 sqft house. And Sherwin Williams had a 40% sale (they do sales often!) so we really saved!

    My whole house is the dark brown like your garage door. I like the brightness you achieved with painting. So much more inviting.

      We thought about painting the whole house a dark color, but so glad we went with a light color after seeing how bright it made the house and coverings. Inviting for sure. Makes us happy when we drive up :) Thanks for watching!

    We used a product called “30 seconds” to get rid of the algae / moss on the front of our house. It smells like bleach and if you try it I would dress like it IS bleach, but it’s super easy, spray on, rinse off operation, you can use a brush if it’s extra tough.

    • @MakerGray
      @MakerGray  Год назад

      Ooooh good to know. I figured it would probably be a bleach product. I'll check this out! Thanks Jeremy!

    Washing the rocks with sodium hypochlorite will take the Algae off of the stone at about 3-4% mixture. Spray on. Let dwell for like 5-10 mins rinse off thoroughly.

    Great job. I hope you do the driveway in cement-textured french gray etc.. contrast paint. What a babe too. I know that's naughty ( if that's ok to say in a nice way) Then add a raised flowering bush bed like lavender and a splash of yellow flowers, vertical warm grey drop curtains, black /charcoal pots, and a house plate with silver numbers. Mmmm. It's my area of profession. I am sure you will have plenty of ideas and love the metal plunge pool. You can get/make plastic coated foam covers to heat up and secure the pool from wandering kids too.

      A good question! I think it would do great, but if I remember correctly, Wagner has some other sprayers that might be better suited for those specific tasks. Either way, Wagner has you covered! Check their website. I'm excited to spray our cabinets in the future.

    You aren't keeping your spray head even ma'am. You're moving your wrist making your coats uneven 😊😊😊 And there are algalcides that you spray on with a hand sprayer that can either just come off or can be washed off with a power washer.

    This project is a nightmare for me but you made it look pretty tolerable. The finished project looks awesome. If you did it again would you consider removing the caulk, then painting and THEN re-caulking so it would make it easier to tape off? Does that make sense?

    • @MakerGray
      @MakerGray  Год назад

      Yeah I could see that being a good option and good point! The only reason I can think of for caulking first is if you want to paint the caulk, which I did want in spots. Thanks for the comment :)
