Hi Joe, I actually recently made my Helix LT my main interface for recording. I have created some patches for recording vocals that allow me to record through EQ, compression and saturation, with some delay and reverb in the headphone mix for the singer, without any latency in the headphone mix at all. You can also record a clean D.I take at the same time. And it's all recallable in a personalised preset. Using the Helix as an interface also reduces the amount of conversions in your recording chain and because of the Helix having effects loop it makes it a breeze to integrate hardware into the recording chain. Because I have a Helix LT, I don't have an XLR input on the Helix so I need to use an external pre-amp (ART TubeMP) and use the 1/4inch line out from that to get my signal into the Helix, I use an effects loop return for the preamp input and have it at line level. Sorry for the long winded comment but it really was a game changer for me.

Haven’t time to watch the video as no headphones with me, but I’m just excited that my favourite studio related channel has now adopted my favourite piece of guitar gear. Roll on loads of great content Joe!

Wow that's just awesome Joe! Love your mix together series, learned a lot from you working through some. Welcome to the Helix family! Three things I noticed!
1: Your first Helix video already has an awesome creative idea I haven't seen yet (mono to stereo)! I'll definitely try that.
And 2: it shows that production knowledge is super helpful for the Helix (like checking how it sounds in mono, your gain staging etc).
And 3: it points out that it's easy to hit the DSP limit once you get a bit creative. I keep reading "I never hit the DSP limit lol" comments whenever the DSP budget is mentioned.
Awesome preset and so well explained what you did and why. Love it! Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with! #felixthehelix 🤘😆

Fender buys Presonus and now Joe has a Fender Strat...I saw this coming :) I will never associate Felix as a cats name ever again. Also your opening chords are Hold My Hand by Hootie and the Blowfish.

It's got a built in Flux Capacitor and Eludium Q36 space modulator! Awesome! It sounds a mile wide! Thanks again Joe!

All I can hear when you play that riff is "with a little love and some tenderness" lol

Thanks Joe. I've had the HX Stomp for a few years and I love it. The Princeton Reverb and stereo effects use a lot of DSP. I struggle with going back and forth between Helix USB and my audio interface when recording in Studio One. For that reason, I tend to go with plugins.

Nice Joe! I got an HX stomp awhile back and have never regretted the purchase. So many tones and fairly easy to figure out once you play around a little bit. Also with Helix native a cheap add-on as. plug in, I'm set for guitar tones in the studio and on the stage.
Plexi amp is a little DSP heavy, you could try the JTM 45 if you want more space or the line6 2204 maybe? I look forward to hearing how you get tones from this!

You probably know already Joe but there's a cool studio one template built in that controls a bunch of stuff and you can customise different midi settings. There's also one for RUclips which is cool. Great vid as always 👍

Chris, do you have links for these templates?

@@jonnylennox2504 if you have the helix you should already have them. They're included as standard on the helix in the templates preset folder. 👍

Hey Joe, Im a huge fan of your videos and watch most of them. Keep it up! I would like to know what you're overall thoughts are on the Helix? I'm going to be that guy that has something to say against the Helix. I am not an Electric guitar player, but I do a lot of recording and mixing, especially mixing down live recordings as well as mixing live sound for our church. There are 2 people in our band that use the Helix. From the quite a bit of playing Ive heard, the Helix's sound thin and wimpy. It also has a certain sound that I've learned to recognize from anywhere that I don't like at all - (To me it sounds like its smashed through a cheep compressor) I have yet to hear a great, thick, warm, full tone from the Helix. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me?

So...? The Eleven Rack is not in use anymore?
That thing is still my favorite, and now I have to deal with the fact that it's gone obsolete?😊
