  • Not much of an unboxing considering the size of the box and its contents ;-)
As you've seen in recent videos, I'm a fan of manual, old fashioned tools and this is a new/recent offering of an old design/idea. Simplicity at its finest. A 12 gauge hand roll crimping tool. Not too much to explain here that isn't immediately apparent. Place nearly complete hull into crimp and turn.
The tool is a bit rough around the edges, so I blasted it in Redzilla and then hit it with the polishing wheel. Looks more "finished" and the finish does look better ;-) also less gritty on the bolt after both a polish and a light oiling. Can't beat it for the price, honestly.

I have that tool and i have been trying to load slugs but the crimp seems to always have a low spot and the start of a wrinkle I don't know how to describe it other than the look of a candle that has wax starting to come off the side. I have tried to crimp less but still getting that problem. I'm doing lee driver slugs with no overshot card. Could the lack of card be the problem?

Your thoughts on this vs the other type of roll crimper, the manual one that can mount to a 2x4?

It helps if u put a little oil on ur finger and go around the edge of the shell. 3 in 1 or any oil

Cut the roll crimper out of the body and remove the handle and use it in a drill press.
