At 2:29 I state the backplate is made of aluminum. That is incorrect. The back plate is made of stainless steel. Apologies for any confusion.

It’s well know for it’s mid bass tuck, kick drum and bass guitar plucks showcase that dip perfectly.

It appears to me that I understand your points well, and knowing that your ear canal is on the narrower side (mine are as well), I'm really looking towards more IEM reviews 👀

My issue with super detail machine iems is they never work well with all types of music. They add that extra treble spice to the instruments. Some people like it and I can be impressed by that too with the right track. But it all falls apart when you listen across genres and hit your detail monster with something like a super incisive k pop track. It turns into an ear*ape session due to the excess energy. The variations sounds good on anything. It's flat/correct for the most part, close to reference speakers. And the bass tuck is great for extra instrument separation. There's some satisfaction in knowing you're listening to your music the "correct way". The variations ruined the collector hobby for me, I don't need anything else for critical listening and my friends who tried it tend to agree.

@@simphoniaubec idk really I don't listen to that genre but maybe something like aespa and other adjacent acts?
In reality the state of your brain and auditory adaptation have more to do with what you consider too much/little and it changes over time and based on your previous iem. On the variations I found that most tracks FR work well with the iem FR, meaning it's pretty much down the middle and it doesn't favor any particular type of recording/frequency ranges. Realistically now I'm equally as happy with the em6l but I kind of quit the hobby knowing more about audio fidelity. All I care about now is smooth treble and a Harman ish fr. Most other tunings are usually added flavors for collectors and a massive money pit which doesn't add anything to fidelity.

I would love to see your review on the Letshuoer EJ07M, which is almost in the same price range of the Variations. I have them both and honestly much prefer the EJ07M for having more "energy" on the type of music I most listen to: Rock and Metal.

Nope. Not doing it. I don't care how much you try to tempt me with a good review. I'm quite happy with the Nanna. I don't need another pair of IEMs.
...besides, I've got too much snake oil I need to buy. 🤣
