This is like the 10th RUclips video I’ve watched on bra fittings and every one of them are different. Some say round up, some say round down. One video say I would be a 34C while another says I would be a 32E. It’s all over the place, no wonder so many people are wearing the wrong size.
I'm experiencing the same LOL but it gets even worse if you're trying to buy online because each brand seems to have their own magic calculator with their own magic results again putting me anyway from a C to a DDD LOL wth?!?! So how am I supposed to buy a bra that will actually fit correctly, be flattering and even be one that I like? Because most bras for bustier ladies are (as a friend of mine just said) fugly! lol this is beyond frustrating because I really need new bras and have no clue what's actually going to work and the more I shop, the more confused and frustrated I become....ahhhh! lol
Wow, it's a nice video, it's really helpful,I originally wore 36B,but after I watched this,I found myself is actually at C cup, thanks a lot!!Guess I need to go buy some new bras
This is funny. Every source says something different. Maybe women aren’t wrong size maybe the sources are wrong. Victoria’s secret says I’m a 30DDD you say I’m a 32F. Soma says I’m a 32D. My tape measure says I’m 29 band and 36 bust and 10 each breast. I’ll just try bras on in the store and choose what feels right. I’ll never know my real bra size but I’m ok with that.
Hi there! This is a little late, but give r/abrathatfits a try. Their calculator is generally pretty accurate, but the cup can overshoot ocassionally so try a few sizes.
The band part makes a lot of sense to me, much more than the traditional method which would make me a 40 instead of a 36, but the cup method is bad as hell, like 4 to 5 cups wrong. I think center of the chest to nipple is way more accurate.
xgaberiellee i want to wear my first bra but idk what size i am, i am too shy to ask someone and i’m only 14. Is there a way i can measure to get exact measurements?
I can't find my size. My band size went up but if I go up cup sizes the cups are too big so I have to use extensions which are a hassle. The straps are falling off my shoulders.
Very interesting! My issue is that when I find a bra that has the correct cup size, the band is just too big, even tighten to the max. WHen going a band size down with same cup size, the cup is too small, but the band fits properly. I have gone to different specialty bra stores, got fitted, got rippe off with so many different overpriced uncomfortable bras taht do'nt even support or last long enough... I have found much more affordable bras on amazon that give the same support (very short term) and last just the same; but non that fits me the way I would like to. I do not care about lace and fancy bras. I just want a bra that gives the support I need without the band going up high, without the wires poking in my armpits or compressing my ribs, or the straps digging in my shoulders.... Not one fancy expensive bra has done what I need yet. I'm done wasting my $, but what would you recommend for a very good supportive bra that gives a flattering figure when wearing a t-shirt? I like the support of a sports bra ( i wear those most of the time because I get the best support and no pain from the wires as they are wireless, but not flattering at all). A bra that is soft adn no nirritating, with a wide band and wide cushionny straps? I dont even care about the color because I wear clothes above it. I am between size 32-34 band and F & G cups, depending on the brand or model of bra.
My trouble is I’m too big to try bras on because no one carries my size. I try on the biggest one in the stores and it’s nowhere big enough. I just don’t wear bras because I can’t find one that fits so they are miserable to wear.
Well we’ll, according to this very new for me information I am a 34F or even H?! The same was calculated by this “A Bra That Fits” calculator. But all of my bras have been 36B for the last 20 years. I mean ok I understand how the band was a bit loose for me, but i did see the size F cups at the store. There is no way my boobs will fill them up!
I way more stressed after watching this video. I also don't understand why you suggested to measure each breast from the sternum out, but didn't say at which point on the sternum. The widest part of the breast doesn't land at the same place for everyone.
I am from Norway so we use a different system, but here I am in between 65 and 70 and both in B because my band size is 68, so I have no clue what to get. Someone please help
1) You should have completely bear breasts when you measure your size. 2) According to your chart if you measure 27 inch underbust you should go to 30, but that is wrong you should go to a 28 band. Other than that this was great.
Everyone is shaped differently and like the lady in the video said it’s just a starting point. My underbust is 29 inches and if I wear a 32 band even on the tightest hooks it rides up. So I wear a 30 band instead, which depending on brand is perfect or tight. Lol they should just make in between sizes. Like a 31 band.
I think as long as the band size is no more than 1-3 inches bigger than your ribcage measurement, you can still get a good fit depending on your shape. Once you start adding 4-5 inches, it totally skews the cup size and the band gives little to no support.
I feel like I have a medium sized breast but this says I should be at a F cup? There's absolutely no way lol. I feel like I'm a C at most. Should I be pulling the measuring tape super tight?
Uhm, I think part of my problem and frustration is that the sizing IS all over the place. Measurements need to be updated to actual measurements, not some vanity random measurements. Also, part of the problem is I am larger on the top of my cup, when in any bra. So depending on the bra type, really throws me off. I am 50, for you younger folks here, and I still don't have a good fit. Also, the title of this video is not accurate. If you need someone to help you, then you still cannot do it on your own, as the title suggests. With that, I have a friend who had a couple bad experiences with people helping her in the past. Now she is traumatized so she does not like going in for assistance. She is also not comfortable with someone else measuring her. So there is that issue. I would offer, but we live in two different countries. Also, Bigger/Fuller sizes are really hard to find. And the nicer ones are pretty expensive. I usually have to save up and end up buying a few at a time. How many bras should one have? How do you know when it is time to replace? Some I only wear when I am working outside and those get beat up all day. I work outside a lot in the summer.
Great information, Reachel! I buy most of mine from Aerie. I especially love their Katie bra for everyday. Do you have a video with best practices for washing & maintaining the shape? That would be super helpful to me. : ))
thanks very much for that bit of help, but i would have loved to have seen more on how one is made, would you be able to continue on from this vid, to one about making one perhaps :)?
Thanks for the question. Just to clarify, do you want ideas on how to make your own bra? I can tell you more about how they are made, but I'm at a loss on making my own. However, I have considered doing a DIY on converting a traditional bra to a nursing bra. Feel free to give me more details on your ideas.
I don't understand why people are saying it doesn't work. Before trying on the bra in that size. Of me it was very accurate. Although.. I am a petite women 28dd
Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but when I measure one breast it comes to 8 inches.. and your chart says I am DD! I barely fill an A cup.. Can you have wide breasts?
Stephanie, good point! You can definitely have wide breasts. In this case I would do the classic measurement method where you measure across the breasts then directly underneath where the band hits and compare the difference to determine cup size.
Please help! I measured at 19" when measuring from my sternem to my rib cage and I don't have a bra. I was told I was a 38DDD but I think the store lied because it was the biggest bra they had available... My bra broke and now I'm braless so trying to find my size is nearly IMPOSSIBLE! I can't go get measured any time I want because the nearest place is over 1hr and 45mins away!! I don't know what to do and I need to order a bra off of eBay to get me through but I don't know what I'm doing :-(
Ever since I moved from Ohio to Danmark I have to buy new bras back home when I visit, bras here are horrible! Thanks for the measuring tips, I'll sure use them next time I'm back in the states!
Talk about being confused!!! This lady is! Can't tell you how many times I stopped, started, rewound, and tried to look through the rolling words on the screen, to see them charts. There has GOT to be an easier way to explain how to measure for my bra size! Thanks though, for trying!
Lady eggs...thats new..but less poetic than doves nest which is a precious French term for the bra itself. Cups are called bonnets or little baskets depending on if youre still in France or have moved to Germany. The French word once never used and preserved only in Canadian French has come back with the development of sports bras The German abbreviation sounds like bra really and they use the English word to describe not wearing one.
Well I'm a d cup, found this out at a refitting,I had been spilling out by my underarms. But my straps dig in, haven't been able to find a wide strapped bra.
These are definitely not eggs. Am I the only one who doesn't like or find such phrases funny. What's wrong with just calling our body parts by their names, these are breasts.
If the sizing seems off, go with your experience over the numbers. The numbers are only a starting point. And if you're having trouble, try going to a professional at a department store. A lot of those ladies are great.
I'm sorry, this just doesn't work! To be an A cup your measurement from sternum to ribcage is only 4 inches... Are we talking toddlers here??? I've always worn 36B and while I am sure it hasn't always been the correct fit, according to this method, I'm now a 32DD. What??? I've seen DD cups and that is not me.
If we can get people who make these how to video's to just get to the fuckin point, life in america could be so much better...I'm so sick of these people making a simple task long and boring, just get to the fuckin point!!!

CrazySissy95 no they are absolutely right a 28 band size would be perfect rather than a 30 which would be to big and ride up in your back
well i measure 27 inch but i cant breath in a 28 band, its just way to tight, so a 30 is perfect for me and never slides up anywhere
