You've been putting out sooo much useful content Liz. I appreciate it so much. I hope that one day I will be as skilled as you and I will share my knowledge as graciously as you to the next generation. Keep being awesome :)
This is very useful information If i may ask, is it possible for you to make a tutorial on the construction of a bra pattern without already made patterns? If you can, please do Just like the panty pattern tutorial which you did, i love drafting my own patterns, to me this just makes my work a lot easier
Honestly, I thought this was gonna be like your "DIY panties from measurements" video. Do you have a DIY video for bra making from measurements (not an already made pattern)? That's what I'm looking for.
This was so helpful. The last time I was measured I measured at a 42k bra size. Of course nothing fit and Lane Bryant just got my size. Unfortunately, I like designs and lingerie so finding something cute or sexy in my cup size is near to impossible. So, I’ve decided to design my own bras and clothes. I don’t sew and I usually only sew my pants when they tear in the inner thigh area. 🤷🏾♀️ This will help me a lot because it gives me a better idea on how to measure the bra. Thank you so much. You have helped a lot.
That was very useful, thanks. Although, if I had (ever had) a well-fitting bra I wouldn't be here. I've been tempted to try 18th century short stays; they're supposedly very comfortable and supportive.
Have you ever tried to make your own hook and eye closure? I like the idea that you could make one to match the rest of your garment. Orange has a pattern but I haven't tried it.
I recently had to measure Nip span. Nip to niip. I thought that was an interesting new number to know. I think it was the Forme bralette or the new Lilypad designs. Not sure. I kinda find it fascinating to see how the designers use such different numbers.
I’m pretty sure that’s for the forme. I keep going back and forth with myself whether I should pick it up since I don’t really wear braletts that often .... you’ll have to let me know how it works out for you.
I just ordered The Shelly Bra and learned the BCD way. I didn’t know about the chest height measurement! I look forward to all your videos! Is the a sew a long bra that you’ve done that’s similar to the Shelly bra? I would live to watch it before I start my bra! Have a great day!
But it's a natural body part! Areola?? That's the technical name for it. A great video on measurements Liz. So many people get confused about the BCM method, I think because it's not a widely used method at the moment.
@@LizSews That's wild! I've often wondered why the "b" word never gets a mention, despite all the bra content - for a long time I thought you were just far too ladylike to say it out loud! 😂 The threat of demonetization makes a lot more sense, particularly if a /dressform/ is considered offensive enough in a video about bra making... 🙄
Firstly thank you for constantly teaching me new things and inspiring me to up my sewing game secondly have you already done a video(or even mentioned it in another vid) about how you measure for wire sizes?
Love your content! So useful and inspiring. I'm curious if you have a source for, comparing ones actual measurements to industry standards, and ready to wear? Started my first bra yesterday.
So glad to have you back! You seem to be such a natural born teacher and SO Many of us have benefited from it on our bra making journeys!

Thankyou, Liz, for another really useful and helpful video.

Really interesting, thank you 🙂
Super useful! Thank you
Great video! Thank you so much for this info, Liz! First time I hear about certain measurements you mentioned. Very useful.
Thanks for this! I had to take chest height for the Forme bralette from BraToBe too. I wondered if anyone else was using it.
Excellent tutorial. Thank you! BanDana Gramma learned something!

That is a measurement I use when drafting patterns for other clothing. It helps with correct placement of darts from CF.

🤷♀️ I don’t make the rules..... I’ve had issues in the past with my dress forms getting demonetized so I’d rather not push it

Ok so what do we with these measurements?
👍🏼
Where’s a good place to get patterns for free?
😀
Do you measure the BCD wearing a bra or not?

Too low
You can say nipple.
