    I buy kits from Bra making supplies but through their Etsy shop because I can see what it is in AUD and the postage isn't that bad. It's how I started bra making - crafts classes with Beverley and moving on from there. My kits from Emerald Erin arrived just yesterday (I ordered at the end of November) and I'm hoping her style of underwire will be a better fit for me. We did have a supplier in Australia for Duoplex but she seems to not be doing her business anymore which is sad because I like to shop more locally. Still, it's good that we have lots to choose from even if we have to order from other countries.

    I am five minutes down the road from Erins' shop! I have just recently discovered her and have made two purchases in the last week (this is going to be an expensive hobby). She is such a sweetheart and I love her online store setup, it's so easy to coordinate the things you need for each pattern and the kits are great. I want to say a big thank you for the sew along video for the black beauty bra!! I have seen it on her shop, and although her instructions are great, I have been super intimidated to try it out for myself. I definitely will now!!

    This is great ... so helpful to know what each shop is geared towards and what you look for. I have purchased picot elastic from SewSassy and was very happy with them. Their website is on the low-tech side but the quality and price of the elastic I purchased is quite good. I'm working on another order to have a supply of panty-making materials on hand.

    My fellow Europeans, where do you go to your lining materials like sheer cup lining and powernet? I see here plenty options for UK but I am not sure what will happen now after UK leaving Union. Any alternative names for these materials would be very helpful too!

    I do not sew any kind of underwear but I like to listen all the information. I just want a bra that fits me well and maybe one day I will attempt to visit those websites and take from there. And the website with 3 colors is my alley.

    I enjoy absolutely every post you put up. But I have a question. If I used either the Berkeley bra or the Black Beauty bra,,, would it be possible to add some foam padding in addition to the underwire??? Thank you for your help!!

    • @LizSews
      @LizSews  4 года назад +1

      I’ve added foam to both patterns in the past. You can pretty much add cut and sew foam to any bra patterns. In fact the Black Beauty already includes the pattern pieces and instructions for foam

    Have you seen any 1/4 inch strap elastic at any of these places??? I want to make some interesting strappy bras (like one I love from VS) but the 1/2 straps are too wide for the look.

    • @LizSews
      @LizSews  4 года назад

      I’m not sure I’ve ever seen strap elastics any smaller than 3/8”. Your best bet is probably Fold Over Elastics ( folded in half and sewn) or skinny elastics ( normally used for stabilizing the top of a lace edge). Most of the shops had there skinny elastics depleted by mask making so FOE is going to be easier to find.
