Love your channel Chris, keep up the great work. You can never have enough overdrives. I have two dual od/boost pedals. Do I need a Wanpler Paisley Deluxe? Hell yes, I do! I love those old Bluesbreakers, is yours a V.1 or V.2?
I recently discovered Chris Buck and he's become one of my favorite guitar players. His sound, style, technique, and originality is impressive. And he can get such ideal tones out of every pedal.
Well there’s a thought! We hope you wouldn’t be - we’re two normal geezers way too far down a rabbit hole. The artists deserve all the reverence. We’re mere amplifiers of their message. :0)
I'll be damned in this isn't my favourite ever episode of TPS. Love Chris's playing, tone and humility, love you guys and love the combination of both. Definitely one of those 'save for future reference' videos. Damned fine work D&M!!
What I love so much about Chris's playing is that in between the incredibly tasty stuff I wouldn't ever think to play, he comes out with a lick I already have in my vocabulary and makes it sound 10 times as good as it would if I did it. He manages to inspire me hugely without giving me that "sod it I'm burning all my gear" feeling that some players do.
Thank you Dan+Mick for putting out this awesome show every single week, free of charge for all of us. I just wanted to say that most of us appreciate all the work you put in every week! I don't care if it's 4k or 360p. For the last 3 yrs I've come here for the substance+content of TPS...not the resolution of the video!! Cheers from the States mates🎛️🎸
As a guy having to go back and struggle with relearning good technique, it’s nice to see someone as good as Dan having trouble with the fingerpicking style in this. Love this video. You guys find a way to keep me motivated!
Hey Dan & Mick... At approx 1:03 of this video, Dan and then Chris communicate exactly how most of us TPS faithful feel about you two fine fellows. I have learned SO much and been SO inspired by this show over the past couple years! You are both amazingly humble and complimentary of your guests etc., however please know how your own guitar playing skills and tone expertise has motivated me to work, work, work on my own. Now even my 6 and 8 year olds watch TPS with me and want to grow up to be rock stars like Dan & Mick. Sincerest thanks to you both, Simon and all the others who make your gift to us possible! Cheers
Jeremy, thank you. That’s extremely kind of you to say. We are absolutely respectful of our guests which is why we have them on in the first place. We’re also acutely aware that this whole thing is a journey. When you’re surrounded by guys like Chris and Joey and Kirk and Matt etc etc etc.... you can quickly get down about your own ability. But then you realise that you’re lucky to have what you have. We’re all on our own journeys, and yet we’re all on them together. Thank you again - we are humbled to inspire you in some small way. Cheers!
As a fellow South Welshy guitarist living in London, lovely to see Chris flying the flag! Top man, incredible playing and tones, keep it up big man. Great episode! 🙌🏽🏴🎸😎
I use my right hand the same way, holding the pick with my index finger, and I’ve felt for years that my index finger is wasted but I’ve struggled to switch between using and not using the pick any other way. I am now happy after seeing Chris. I’m going just keep doing what I originally fell into doing. Great video again!
Never heard of this guy until I stumbled across his Gurus Echosex III demo a few weeks ago. Obviously I've since subscribed to his channel. He's one of those players that you really could listen to all day. Wonderful style.
On the topic of "finding your own sound", my own musical journey had always been about "trying to sound like this or like that" for as long as I can remember. But, through watching TPS on a weekly basis and subsequently being inspired to experiment with new sounds and pedals, I've really begun developing my own unique style. The sounds and topics on the show are inspirational in so many ways and continue to be the greatest musical gift I've received since I got my first guitar 23 years ago! Schwang on!
That is a wonderful thing to hear and, apropos of that, it’s why we kinda steer away from the slavish ‘sound like’ approach. There’s a pot of disappointment at the end of that apparent rainbow. Understand what others do, sure, and then do your own thaaaaang. Awesome. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely love how delightful he dials in his tones and how much he cares about nuances. It was quite an eyeopening journey with every pedal you showed. And then all of a sudden there was the Twin bender and i was absolutely blown away! I have never heard such a warm but grunty fuzz tone coming out of this box. Every video is bias full on right and strumming chords with too many voicings. FANTASTIC EPISODE!
Such a fun episode, one of the most enjoyable for that. You’ve had plenty of great guests, but I don’t think anyone has had the rapport with you guys that Chris Buck did here. And we still probably got more drive pedals and more strats than you’ve ever crammed into one video before, too! Nicely done, all.
Great show guys. Chris is a rare talent for sure and I can't wait to hear the new album in it's entirety. "Ain't no midnight" from live at rockfield is still one of the tastiest intros and bridge guitar work i've ever heard.
Fantastic Episode! Chris is one of my favorite players and it was great to see y’all shooting the breeze, excellent. Best moment goes to Dan though “ A plague on both your houses “ I guffawed for a good 5 minuets.
Great tone, tips and playing.... Wow Such a great discovery of another amazing person/player Thanks again guy's Fave episode since Kirk Fletcher Great show
Oooo... that tone is to die for! And I desperately want the hair (the bird's nest) too since I'm bold and old (or am I). And, Mr Buck, your playing is right on the money, respect!!
Mad...first ever T-Shirt! Incredible players and musicians tuned into TPS! Mick, Dan... You're literally making Public Service to the world by spreading culture and music to the many!
Hooray - a new artist!!! Got coffee - check. Comfortable chair - check. An hour to spare - check. New pedal tape to complete pedal board - check, but that can wait. EDIT: Once again, a 6-hit (showing my ignorance here, I hope I said that right)! An excellent guest guitarist and interview, extremely cool pedals, tones and unique tecnique. I remember watching The Smothers Brothers, Glen Campbell, Hee Haw, etc. with my father while growing up. He would always yell at the camera man, "Show their hands!". I think he would like TPS. Gonna listen to Buck and Evans, will probably buy the album. Between Chris Buck, Joey Landreth and Ariel Posen, I have lots of new music to listen to. Hurry up and record That Pedal Album!!!!!!!
Thanks for the intro to Chris Buck - Awesome! Just tried the right hand pickholder approach as I switch back and forth between a pick and fingers quite frequently myself. As a singer, sticking a pick in the mouth is a non-starter. This approach is brilliant! You definitely got a tone and vibe all your own - and love your board. Cheers. Oh.... Technical feedback.... I sometimes like to watch on my Apple TV, but for some reason received a message that this video is not available in this format... all other videos on That Pedal Show still worked. Not sure what you did differently in posting but something went wonky on Apple TV. Switched over to my Mac to enjoy the show. See ya next week.
Definitely one of my favorite videos ever....in part due to the shared angst with Daniel through the entire thing. The pain coursing through his veins was hilarious every time Chris played the guitar, any one of them. I will be creating a wonderful bonfire out of my very expensive and pretty Tom Andersons as they have never sounded like that, and given my lack of ability to do the claw picking thingie, probably never will.... By the way...I don't think Slash ever sounded as good as that last lick Chris played on the Les Paul.... Well done guys!!!
We both feel a bit like that Blue. The only thing to do when you do is to look inside yourself and ask what it is that motivate you to play and what you do best. Do that and nothing else and everything will be okay. Constant comparison to others is the road to feeling bad. :0)
Sometimes, who is a little bit high for his britches, and who like all good players, who melts within his own confidence, but he is a very good player, and thoughtful, of the music that he plays, with reverence, to those whom he idolizes...and I like him very much, and I thank him for what he does with his fingers, and with his strings and, mostly, for what he does with his Imagination...
Great episode! Seemed like a lot of fun to film. Can’t believe it’s the first time you’ve had a Blackstar on! I only have a lowly HT5 but would love to see you do an episode on their amps.
that was a great pedal show guys ... the topics an chris on the show was on point .im glad you went off topic with the differejnt strats for pickup variances ... his playing is so in his fingers i couldnt find as Dan said an yourself a bad sound at all from him ...the begining joke of gear an women i said to myself the same thing....great video again guys keepem coming
great lad, great player, great show guys. He reminds me a bit of a young Knopfler. There is something very organic about playing a strat without a pick. I love the sound.
Cracking video guys... Chris is a truly inspirational player and yet so humble... I'm just in awe of his talent.... also love how Dan is just speechless the whole way through lol... Really enjoyed that!
I’m so glad you guys did a test between all those Strat(style) pickups! I love the sound of Chris’ pickups, and was wondering how they would compare to a JM Strat. Honestly, I think the best two of that whole group IMO were Chris’ Strat and Mick’s. Those are both incredible sounding!
150k subs! And they keep saying people don't care about quality! Well, here's 150k that does! Great show again today. 200k just weeks away I think! Congratulations!
I definitely enjoyed this episode. I have been a subscriber on both channels. The bit about the pick is amazing. I added a few pedals to my want list and am still waiting for my call for the KOT. Thank you and please do this again.
Another great video!! Really loved Chris's toan/playing etc, with the added plus that he just seems like a proper dude. This is the first time I've seen someone else tuck the pick away with their index finger too. I knew there must be more out there... I don't really know how I came about doing it at first but I have a little less of a complex about it now haha.
neuk01642 my other half just received her Pledge early copy, so first album must be out proper soon. Cracking band we've been following for a few years. Sally Ann (the Evans of B&E) is a hell of a singer.
Just wanted to say that they do all nitro finishes in the custom shop. But great episode! I’ve been digging Chris’s playing as of late, so this episode was timed perfectly! Thanks guys great as always. Keep up he good work. Cheers!
Tried to reupload, RUclips won’t allow it. And they won’t/can’t encode this one to 4k. Which is insane because nothing is any different from normal at our end. Hopefully going to solve it today.Really angry at RUclips as it goes. They couldn’t be less helpful.
First! 😂 Thank you so much for having me guys. Too much fun!
Yeah baby! Total pleasure Chris - you’re always welcome man!
Great show. Immediately subscribed to bucks and Evans. Thanks for pulling me out from under the rock!
Beltin! Can’t knock that. Love the guest shows and learning about artists who are new to me.
That Tone Bender sounds ridiculously amazing.
Love your channel Chris, keep up the great work.
You can never have enough overdrives. I have two dual od/boost pedals. Do I need a Wanpler Paisley Deluxe? Hell yes, I do!
I love those old Bluesbreakers, is yours a V.1 or V.2?
How refreshing to hear a guitarist who talks as well as he plays!
Really entertaining, down to earth, and humorous guy.
Great playing too!
Awesome!
Chris has such wonderful touch on a guitar. So, so much nuance to his playing.
Dan's "mind blown" face this entire video is hilarious! Great episode! Chris Buck is amazing with out of this world tone.
I recently discovered Chris Buck and he's become one of my favorite guitar players. His sound, style, technique, and originality is impressive. And he can get such ideal tones out of every pedal.
Any one having trouble with video quality?
Allright everybody, enough notifications. Yes, it's only available at 360p.
Yep
only have 360p :(
It's an hour long video that was uploaded 20 mins' ago. RUclips takes it's sweet time getting long videos up in HD.
damn millennials...
Nope. Uploaded in 4k...
I just love the genuine fanboyish nature of you guys. Where as most of us watching would be the same meeting Dan and Mick for the first time.
Well there’s a thought! We hope you wouldn’t be - we’re two normal geezers way too far down a rabbit hole. The artists deserve all the reverence. We’re mere amplifiers of their message. :0)
Heavens above, you have to get this up in HD. This player and that gear, all those comparisons. Whatever it takes, please. Great episode.
That guy is a phenomenal player . Comes across a good bloke too. Great show all round
Met Chris after a gig; a genuinely nice and down to earth guy.
I'll be damned in this isn't my favourite ever episode of TPS. Love Chris's playing, tone and humility, love you guys and love the combination of both. Definitely one of those 'save for future reference' videos. Damned fine work D&M!!
Enjoyed this....what a nice guy also. Can't wait for the revival drive episode...next week please!!!
And it will be so! Cheers!
That Pedal Show good to hear! I caved last week and I'm glad I did. My tweed amp now sounds like Paul Kossoff's marshall :)
I never thought I would hear the intro to my favorite Beatles song on TPS! Great skill and a lovable bloke! Cheers from Croatia!
What a great coincidence. I just discovered Chris on RUclips and have been blown away by his playing. Definitely deserves to be more widely known.
Hahahaha man!
The sounds were superb, Chris is magic, but lord this episode had THE best gags 😂
Thank you Dan+Mick for putting out this awesome show every single week, free of charge for all of us. I just wanted to say that most of us appreciate all the work you put in every week! Bugger me, what a nice intelligent articulate guy.
Spotify search and playlist done. Bloody great music
You need to listen now

Huge congrats on 150k! How bloody articulate this guy is! What a gifted and nice guy. Amazing feel he's got the midas touch!

The admiration for each other in this video is awesome!
Chris comes across as humorous, insightful and... erudite! An excellent 66 minutes - well worth a second watch.
Probably the most honest reason for using delay in a solo - "so you don't feel so alone".. love it!
Great video. The Strat test was awesome. You could have gone on for days. Dan looked like he was in a world of bliss.
Bloody brilliant episode guys! You did an ace job of showcasing the skill, playing-style and pedalboard of this perhaps too-humble rock star.
Schwangri-La ... nice. Very, very nice. Thanks for introducing me to Chris, what a treat! I'll be checking out his music and his progress.
These three guys interact so well.... Like three mates down the pub. Nice one.
The pick in the index finger trick is genius !!! No more holding picks in my mouth !
Great show guys. Chris is a rare talent for sure and I can't wait to hear the new album in it's entirety. "Ain't no midnight" from live at rockfield is still one of the tastiest intros and bridge guitar work i've ever heard.
Chris is such an amazing player and what a genuine guy! I bought a big box Amp11 after watching him demo it. Keep up the great work TPS!!!
Best artist you've ever had on the show!
Fantastic Episode! Chris is one of my favorite players and it was great to see y’all shooting the breeze, excellent.
Best moment goes to Dan though “ A plague on both your houses “ I guffawed for a good 5 minuets.
Wow, over one hour pedaldelight with the amazing Chris Buck. Thx guys, best TV-moment of this week. ;-)
Great tone, tips and playing....
Wow
Such a great discovery of another amazing person/player
Thanks again guy's
Fave episode since Kirk Fletcher
Great show
Phenomenal playing from Chris as ever. If you get the chance to see him live take it. Great show guys 🤘🏻👍🎸🤘🏻👍🎸🤘🏻👍🎸

Hey guys, great show as allways! The Marshall Bluesbreaker Overdrive is one of the most underrated Pedals-it is great!
I already follow Chris's channel. Such a fantastic sound he gets. I love his playing.
41:48 This sounds sooooo goooood! And quite different from what I hear Chris playing usually
Definitely one of my favorite videos ever....in part due to the shared angst with Daniel through the entire thing.

Ok, how are you gonna top this episode? Gr8 stuff! 👌🏼🙃
We’re not. That’s it. Lights off, no more.
Ha ha! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next episode. :)
So glad you had him on the show...class act and hauntingly good tone. Worth mentioning those are not expensive guitars he solicits such tone from.
The Strat is fitted with his own Radioshop Signature p'ups. ruclips.net/video/4L0UZ7EcjFk/видео.html
Fantastic episode guys !!!! Daniels reaction is priceless:)

What a nice chap
He’s got it all! Amazing episode. Thank you so much guys.
Most fun video in a while..... Thanks guys. Love that dude.
Amazing show! Love the new space and the new graphic! Hell of a player and an awesome person. Cheers guys!
Great episode! Seemed like a lot of fun to film. Can’t believe it’s the first time you’ve had a Blackstar on! I only have a lowly HT5 but would love to see you do an episode on their amps.

Love this video... this guy is great
This guy has a phenomenal touch, very expressive. I'm definitely going to give the claw hand thing a go!
Incredible playing. Charming young man. Great, great video. Thanks for sharing.
HIGHLY entertaining video! :D Never heard of him but now I love him! What a fantastic guitar player and all around great guy! Thanks again D&M
Great Guest! Congrats for the show! Top!
A remarkable episode. Nuff said.
great lad, great player, great show guys. He reminds me a bit of a young Knopfler. There is something very organic about playing a strat without a pick. I love the sound.
That was a fun episode! Well done chaps.
Setzer uses same right hand technique tucking his pick with his index- great show guys
What an informative interview. The touch and sensitivity of Chris’s playing is awesome
Cracking video guys... Chris is a truly inspirational player and yet so humble... I'm just in awe of his talent.... also love how Dan is just speechless the whole way through lol... Really enjoyed that!
Great show and a great guitarist. You're spot on, Adam.
Definitely one of my fav's guitarist out there. He's even better with a telecaster!
not sure why low vid qual but worth it anyway. Great show guys. Chris was a revelation so appreciate that.
You Tube hasn’t processed the 4k yet. It was uploaded 4k. Usually does it within 24 hours of upload. This has been three days. Sorry!
Another great show guys! Love learning about players I haven't heard of yet!
Chris is a really really good dude. Kind, funny, and a hell of a player.
27:15 - “Actually!!! *unplug* I’m fucking brilliant!!!” 😂😂😂🤘🏻 Go on Mick!
Ah man, I loved this episode! Chris, deep respect for rocking the double denim and the Super Hans reference! Lookin' forward to Guitar Breaks!
how did i miss the super hans reference?? oh well guess i'll have to re-watch!
What a great guest! Beautiful playing. Thanks guys!
Just noticed, 150 000 subscribers. Well earned guys, super
super show 🧞♀️
Thank you!
Absolutely great episode. New benchmark
150k subs! And they keep saying people don't care about quality! Well, here's 150k that does! Great show again today. 200k just weeks away I think! Congratulations!
A Second part from this episode would be awesome!, i really enjoyed it.
I love Dan just watching every note being played and shaking his head in absolute awe.....
Soothing tones meaning you guys sounded great and inspired. Nice show. Would have been nice to see you all jam together. Keep rocking.
Think I'm shopping for some Buck and Evans after this... he plays so so so so beautifully!
neuk01642 my other half just received her Pledge early copy, so first album must be out proper soon. Cracking band we've been following for a few years. Sally Ann (the Evans of B&E) is a hell of a singer.
It's a stunning debut album; four great musicians playing in perfect harmony.
Blimey, that was some beautiful playing.
Haven't even watched in full yet and already getting a thumbs up.
Finished this vid, actually a really great episode, funny and illuminating but damn it was hard to get through the low resolution.
Tried to reupload twice. RUclips keeps rejecting and they won’t help up. Really don’t know what to do at this point.
this kid has knowledge definitely beyond his years and his board is just stupid good
Chris buck solo album available? Holy goodness
That would be cool huh?
Just wanted to say that they do all nitro finishes in the custom shop. But great episode! I’ve been digging Chris’s playing as of late, so this episode was timed perfectly! Thanks guys great as always. Keep up he good work. Cheers!
I know a few people who would disagree with that. Mick here. But my research is probably five or six years out of date... cheers!
This is such a great episode!
Really deserves a re-upload in a resolution better than full circle urination (360p).
Tried to reupload, RUclips won’t allow it. And they won’t/can’t encode this one to 4k. Which is insane because nothing is any different from normal at our end. Hopefully going to solve it today.Really angry at RUclips as it goes. They couldn’t be less helpful.
That Pedal Show just as well your content is so bloody good then ;)
Terrific show
Can watch this over and over again:) Great vibe, interview and playing! Also learned a little something about the word «inevitable».
He is good.Prolly awesome sitting in the room with him
