Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone Guitar Rig Challenge: Dan vs Mick - That Pedal Show

- He chooses an unfamiliar rig for me, I choose one for him… now let’s make some songs and music videos!
Life too short for long RUclips videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
Comfort Zones. Hmmm. Dan and I often get accused of being in our own ‘comfort zones’ fairly regularly on this show. That’s to say being in a place of over-familiarity and complacency with the kind of gear we use and the noises we make. What this means in may peoples’ opinions is that creativity and experimentation are inhibited. For the record, neither of us really feels like that at all - it’s hard enough finding time to be in //any// musical zone, let along a comfortable one! - but in the interests of at least addressing the question, we decided to give ourselves a challenge. Woop!
Thusly, in this episode Dan and I choose rigs for one another to deliberately move us away from our perceived comfort zones. We start by feeling out the choices as a first impression, before heading off to each make music tracks and, erm, videos.
Some viewers may wish the choices were more ‘extreme’. For sure all the gear here is within the collective comfort zone of TPS as a whole. One step at a time, perhaps.
Enjoy the episode!

“I’m going to push you but still set you up to succeed.” We all need a friend like Dan.
Doing anything else is just dumb ass internet content. We think. :0)
@@ThatPedalShow Well that's my next script out the window! :-) :-) :-)
@@ThatPedalShow And that's why I'm up at 6am to watch it!
@@ThatPedalShow Also, because you really needed to read two comments from me today: As a huge Landau fan, I've always wanted to connect with the SD-9 but likewise have struggled. However, I recently picked up the XTS Tonic Distortion, which is a modded SD-9 with 3-band EQ on top. It's KILLER. Have you seen it?
Ah no, sounds way cool! Mike always sounds so much less fizzy than the SD9. Maybe it's his amazing touch and just being waaaaaaay loud that makes the fizz make sense. Hmmmmm
Apparently when Dan and Mick go outside their comfort zones they turn into Soundgarden? Well done!
I think plenty of others thought the same thing haha sounded great though
My immediate thought as well when dan’s song starts playing
Very Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, etc.
That's so accurate it's not even funny. 90s grunge/metal ftw
Soundgarden are still cool lol
I'm the person who never leaves comments on anything because I rarely see genuine humanity in action...people who care about each other and their success (especially on social media). Dan and Mick, you made choices based on your personal knowledge of each other and set each other up for success. Contrary to public tendencies, you made the show without competition. The results of your efforts and the effect of your show on me (and countless others) was profound. You didn't sell me on any products. You sold me on your character. Thank you.
Very well said!! I agree COMPLETELY!
"Lets step out of our comfort zone"
*both immediately tune to drop D 😆
This could just well be one of the best TPS eps ever. Cracking idea.
They could make this a series where they have to do something different each time and it would be really interesting.
Totally agree
Indeed!!!
Agreed, I think it's their best episode yet (and I don't think I've missed a single one since 2016!)
Stacco Troncoso and that’s a lot of episodes.
The homage to Slash and Dan’s analogy of getting spanked on a public beach - PRICELESS. Well done, Mick. Well done! 👍
Things I don't expect to hear on this channel: "The combine harvester just happened to be there."
'Octaves and Frequencies and Things'
Definitely a t-shirt.
‘Yeah, I got a bit carried away.’ That’s the whole premise of TPS summed up in a short sentence right there!
Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Bravo chaps
Thank you Ben!
@@ThatPedalShow any way I could get the tabs for the lick Mick plays at 31:39? the that melody just speaks to me, but since I am still pretty new as a guitarist I haven't been able to find it by ear.
I got a bit carried away should be a t shirt !
Dan: “I am going to take Mick out of his comfort zone.” Also Dan: gives Mick a Fender Strat and a deluxe reverb.
You are the first of doubtless very very many. :0)
Tnx for the spolier....
The EOB was a great choice for out of comfort zone in my opinion
Deluxe reverb is much smaller and with lower headroom than mick usually plays.
@@whiskersb5296 Haha, I bought a Deluxe Reverb _FOR_ it's high headroom! Relative to my past amps of course 😂
Mick: “Yeah, I got a bit carried away...”
We’ve all been there mate. Incredible.
New drinking game: every time Mick’s specs drop, you have to take a shot.
Oh god. We’ll be smashed! Sorry, I’m still new to specs.
Sh!t
Me too, I’ve been putting them on my head like sunglasses 🕶. Eventually I want to get transition lenses for my Ray-Ban sunglasses. For now I will just stick with my free Medicaid glasses 🤓
EPIC!!!!
Mick’s video needs to be posted as a stand-alone so it doesn’t get lost and forgotten in a long but absolutely brilliant episode
Thanks Miguel. This will sound weird, but I just don’t want the Internet hate for something I put some work into. Out of context it would get a tremendous amount of hate.
Sad days we live in.
Thank you for the kind words!
@@ThatPedalShow What Miguel said, Mick. That was outstanding---and keep in mind this is coming from a jaded and cynical 52 year old who has "heard it all." :)))
Can you guys please post these two - as well as your other "stand alone" as separate playlists, so I can go right to them and listen in my car? Thanks!
I totally agree with Miguel. I rewind the video many times only for see again the songs. Awesome!
Mick!! Post it! Put it on Spotify. Make a whole ep of funk bluesy doom and get Ariel or Joey to do trade vocals with you.
Would be freaking epic!!!!
Just watched this with my wife. She says to me while watching Mick's video, "is he serious?" Then we both just laughed remembering every rock video from the 90's. Well done gents. Love the show and your humor.
Seems like an entirely appropriate response!
I love every bit of that video, but the most how respectful of each other you were. To challenge each other, but still "setting up each other for the win". Those music videos were pure gold. Reaction cam also added a lot of fun aspect. Hands down one of the best episodes ever.
Thank you Michal.
Mick's glasses continuously falling off his forehead has been a constant source of entertainment for me
I can’t take it 🤦🏻♂️
🤓
He probably didn’t even notice that he was constantly fixing them. When ur into what you’re talking about and stuff like that happens it’s just unconscious. I do it all the time lol
@@benskurbe he did apologise on their behalf. If we buy a few more D&M Drives maybe he can get varifocals. Or a vintage SG 🤷
Mick stood on straw bales in his Slash like moment! Queue me shouting “Hell Yeah!” cut to Mick victory stance in the background and Dan astonished. TPS moment of the year.
Agreed. Wasn't expecting it, but then BAM! there it is, and it just made total sense. This whole video was great.
Absolutely clip of the year
Mick is that classmate you had in primary school who just outdid everyone by a mile in their school projects
Looking back on this one a couple of years later. Bloody marvellous.
Wow. Mick. Super profound. I mean that’s like a whole mental health journey in 3 minutes. Also classic Mick ‘I got a bit carried away’.
Glad you got it Tony. :0)
That Pedal Show yes very much so and from experience of course!
+1
I agree. The whole struggling in the corner against the wall when all you need to do is turn round thing. Hit me in the feels that.
davedave and yet it is often the most difficult thing to do even though it appears on the outside to be the most simple action to take.
Mick - "Yeah I got a bit carried away, so...." mind blowing effort sir
Cheers Simon!
dan and mick this episode goes down as an instant classic. one of the greatest episodes you've ever done. not just because the results of the task/experiment were epic but because those of us who are regular viewers feel like we're your friends and you take us along for the ride, anticipating mick and the blooper, dan and the tweed amp, etc. thanks so much for your show, the invaluable tone lessons you've taught me and for the awesome fun along the way.
This is BRILLIANT. Both tracks are rockin monsters. You guys are just killing it. What a show.
In the world of amazing TPS shows, including all the mind blowing artists, this has to be one of the - if not THE - best shows. For the whole show I found myself sitting in front of my screen smiling like a child. I found this show to be so full of joy, happiness and good feeling (although I think something went into my eye during Mick’s video - only to later realise what the music video was about...). Thank you, Dan & Mick!
Couldn't agree more and it's so needed given what's going on in the world. Thank you, Dan and Mick
Me halfway through: Looking forward to Mick's ambient doom funk track!
Poor Mick, trying to pass a kidney stone in that concrete corner.
Knowing Mick as I think I do, and what he’s been through over the past few years, his music video was quite emotional for me.
I can’t even begin to describe the appreciation and respect I have for his level of creativity, both musically and artistically, as well as his technical and technological knowledge to make things look and sound great.
Thanks for everything guys
Thank you kindly Chris. That is a very humbling comment. Cheers!
So Mick and Dan out of their comfort zone both turn into Jerry Cantrell
Shane Rieser YES!
🤘
And Cantrell is a GENIUS!
Dan: "I'm not knee capping him."
Such a gent
Pressure creates diamonds Mick. It's the real secret to living a full life, get comfortable being uncomfortable. That was amazing.
Liked how Dan and Mick embraced their inner Sonic Youth, Melvins and Soundgarden. Good for them.
I feel like Micks song/video was a homage to depression. Really well done.
Exactly that. Glad you got it Roy. :0)
@@ThatPedalShow It was pretty obvious, especially to those of us who have been there. Nonetheless it was also joyous, in a kind of 'was there but now I'm free' way.
Yup, that one stopped me dead in my tracks - proper storytelling moment there, if you've been there you can feel the tension and despair. Wow.
That was my first impression. I’ve been a lifelong depression surviver and I related for sure.
Confirmed: Mick Taylor to join QOTSA
Hahaha!! Homme would render me a snivelling mess. And not in a good way.
That Pedal Show ... because his beard looks better on you? To clarify: suggesting Homme would do anything other than bow in respect is just wrong, because this was epic... and the beard is magnificent.
TPS: I want to give him something out of his comfort zone, but not something he'll hate.
Andertons: lol captain nine-string go djent
whatever Mick did here...is just a level above anynone's expectations..this was just someting else..wow..great!!
Mick I have struggled in the emotional health area as well, and felt that piece was a peak into the darkness while acknowledging your abilities and gifts as a way to open your heart. Touching. Thank you.
Thank you Denis, I feel that. That’s exactly what it was. I’m glad you saw it and I hope it’s of some use. Best to you sir!
Gentlemen, I LOVED this episode - on so many levels - EOB and Graham Coxon would be proud of your surrender to creativity!
Surrender. I love that Vincent - it’s the perfect word. Thank you!
This is what the show should be from now on. Creating pieces of music with your vast collection of pedals. You'd have an album in a couple of months. plus a dvd of your music videos. a video for every song
Can we just acknowledge that Mick's riff was amazing! The video was very well done for sure, but that riff man... It's got that Soundgarden vibe.
You absolutely need to make this a periodic thing! It doesn't have to be every month, but maybe every quarter or a couple times a year, same format (video optional). Hearing you guys be creative on gear you're not familiar with is suspenseful, intriguing, and inspiring,... and the results were epic. Hats off to both of you on your creations.
If i had a friend that made me this "uncomfortable", he would be my best friend
Dan acknowledges Mick’s genius with a pants down spanking analogy. Gold - great work Mick.
Rob and Lee at Anderton's did a video called 'Rig your Mate will Hate' - this is more like 'Rig your Mate's social worker would pick for you, in a non-confrontational, supportive way'!! True friendship, guys!!
Hahahah!!! That’s TPS all over. ;0)
Hands down, this is the most epic TPS episode ever!!! It's like a challenged master class of tone that you guys put your 40 something years of experience into. Micks video really touched me. I'm so inspired to dial in some new tones right now. Thank you sooo much
Thank you Frank!
Death by Audio Rooms - if you had this in 1977 you’d have cut your teeth at the bbc radiophonic workshop before moving to Hollywood to soundscape every sci-fi movie. That’s a lifetime keeper pedal.
Keeping mine!
After seeing Mick's vid all I can say is "this is what happens when you don't choose the JEM".
This was a great episode dudes.
Mick you are an astounding blues player, but your rock chops here are a revelation. I love your track and video. We are all rewarded when you “get a little carried away”.
Thank you sir! It’s all blues when I play it. Take away the swing, then it’s rock! I can’t play rock to save my life. Thank you for the kind words!
That Pedal Show LOL, it may not save your life (but it might!) but you my man were rockin out hard! And it was a perfect accompaniment to your subject matter. Also, I just received my custom shop ‘64 Strat this week (after a torturous 9 month wait), and I never even considered a Strat until I found you and Dan. 😊. I can only hope to make mine sing a tenth as lovely as you make yours sing. Cheers!
This community deserves .gifs of Mick running down a country road, stat.
And so it was that That Pedal Show goes to the next level. Wow! What a show!
Mick: "All the sounds I heard from this I don't understand....."....I was literally lying under the table laughing
Guys, this is the sort of thing I loved about Top Gear on the BBC. The challenges were always my favourite episodes! It works because you both put a lot of heart into it.
"It starts of silly and then it becomes something else"
That's it. Like a child at play.
Great stuff. Thoroughly enjoyed both tracks.
OK Mick - that was riffingly awesomely seriously EPIC ! - i’ve got no other words. You need to release that - i’m going back for another listen
and Dan great sounds and have to say the 335 definitely suits you in jazz mode
Thank you!
That was an epic chapter of their life. It all started with Mick and Dan sitting on a stool , like naughty kids plotting for their next mayhem . This time fully aware anything hilarious , madly scientific experiment or spite of each other , ended up making them the funniest , best friends ever seen on RUclips. Thanks for your beautiful friendship and for the endless laughs !
More than a few metaphors for life in this episode. What lovely luck & coincidence for Mick's entire journey
The way you guys get lost in the sounds, no matter how outlandish they seem to be(phonkify, Rooms, and Blooper,) is just simply incredible! It’s an inspiration to me, who is just finding my feet in the world of six string noisemakers, as I’m sure it’s an inspiration to those who’ve been playing for a long time!
First time I’ve really been blown away by the playing on this show. Comfort zone be damned!
Definitely up there, and definitely out of the comfort zone
This is the best TPS show I've watched. More challenges, more silliness but still insightful - a really good balance.
Both of you should have ended up with Rickenbacker guitars.
A really fun, funny, inspiring, heartwarming episode. Thanks for this.
Great episode. "I got carried away" is a great thing to say when you've done something spectacular. Both solid offerings. You guys should do this once a year. Maybe like a favorite new pedal(s) of the year feature. Then ten years from now you drop the TPS Greatest Hits album.
This. Was. Pure. Gold.
Another great example why this duo kicks and rules. Like I commented earlier... it's like watching Pedal world's "Mythbusters". Dan & Mick, Jamie & Adam. So entertaining while informative at the same time.
Except Dan and Mick don't hate each other...
So a friend of mine linked this, never seen you before. I know almost nothing about this and I know this isn't really for me (yet). But I have to say, this was AWESOME. I love seeing people take that flying leap to play with something unfamiliar and let creativity drive draw outside the lines. Give yourself more credit Dan, that was great music, Mick just did a bit more post production, and seemed a bit more loose with the setup. But honestly I'm glad he did because he had a totally new concept to work with that Blooper and when you go that far... I know that rabbit hole. And best of all he worked with it from many angles since it was messing with him so much. When I end up working with a musician again I'm probably going to bring up that Rooms(and probably this video).
Keep being awesome and thanks for an interesting and entertaining hour. And if the rest of your videos are like this, I can imagine it's a great service, cause I look at these boards with wonder, "How do you know what sound you'll get from this?" Well if someone has a video like this you can find out and makes it a lot more approachable. You guys rock.
This was great. The fun of pedals, guitars and amps is discovering sounds, not just replicating someone else’s. And hearing gear in an actual musical context is inspiring.
I think what I love about Dan the most is the he’s so incredibly sincere about music and creativity. Guys still has that childlike wonder. Don’t change, man!
Astounding!
I have too many good things to say about this, but I'll try to keep this short.
Insert all of the impressed, parentally inappropriate exclamations here...
I am a longtime viewer and have been very impressed over the years, consistently inspired and, much like an essence of this video, creatively pushed by you guys, the show, the various approaches to subjects, etc...
...but THIS show - seriously epic and INCREDIBLY INSPIRING!
I was blown AWAY by Dan's song, all of the things he did with the sound, the effects, amd the music.
He was very self effacing, but that was excellent.
Plus tge trippiness, the way the song moved along into its various parts - way, WAY better than the "spanking" he self described at the end (though if it were me, i would've said the exact same thing, so there's a huge grain of salt, lol).
Now Mick (and Katherine for her cinematography), went so NEXT LEVEL...
I am gobsmacked.
Talk about inspiring.
Like Dan said, I love seeing how Mick really rises to the occasion, and does something incredible.
Seriously, the video aspect of that song was outstanding, especially with the minimal time spent - imagine the task of creating that exact video 25 years ago, amd what a huge production that would've been...
I also really liked the visual images of Mick with his hands over his face. That, especially repeated as it is, with the falling on the ground, leaning/pounding against the corner/wall and the vibe, really creates an emotional reaction that seems (to me at least) to address sadness, depression, frustration, and struggle - now THAT to me, was what it took the song to an absolutely higher level, and prompted so many moments of feeling blown away.
I have much more praise - the IDEA of the show was great - the RESULTS were outstanding!
This going to be a great weekend, I have long been a fan of pushing my own music out of my comfort zone, and I think having some restrictions like the basic length of the song, making a video, etc, REALLY help nudge the process towards yeilding great reaults!
I am so grateful for not just Dan and Mick, but every single one of you involved.
Congratulations both of you on outstanding results!
Patrick, thanks man. Mick here. That the videos drew an emotional reaction from you is so great to hear. At the end of the day that’s what we’re here for - to try and convey that emotion in creativity is really central to music and guitar. We don’t always manage it, but it’s ultimately what drives this whole circus. ;0)
And thank you for getting the depression thing. Obviously that is what it’s about and I’m glad that came across. Best to you sir!
@@ThatPedalShow The more i watch these, the more I find I hope you guys release both just as the individual videos, maybe in a week, or as a Christmas gift, around the holidays.
I would only repeat myself in how genuinely impressed I am.
They're both outstanding in different ways.
It would be cool to share the videos, and get my non pedal nerd friends to see/hear these
By the way Mick, as someone who has been recording and mixing since the 80's, 2 audio engineering degrees, blah, blah, blah, I commend you on your MIX.
With those elements, you could remix that until you're blue in the face, sure maybe make it sound "better" (by SOME standards),
but the way you mixed it, again, the EMOTION came through, and any person mixing it should be pursuing that very thing you achieved to great effect, in my genuine opinion, subtracting my TPS fan-brain. Seriously, solid.
Soundgarden, I think, is the part you were wondering about, BUT what they did with it, and what YOU did with it - so good, and their own thing in the respective songs.
Also, the silliness and off-the-cuff manner in which it began, I think is important, too.
If you set out to be epic, it may be a long hill to climb. Taking a song that maybe had more "humble beginnings", and finding the "epic nature" in even a "silly" song, can transform it, creating a bit of synergy.
As expected from you both, Dan's song was technically excellent, and Mick's was utterly captivating. I was sure Dan had won the day, worried Mick would get sucked into a downward spiral, depressed about the blooper, but Dan, you truly set him up for success, reminding him to accept the unpredictability of the Blooper, just like the rest of Life. And Mick, my goodness! What a success!
The two of you are such a fantastic pairing, complimenting each other's strengths so perfectly.
Unbelievable. You two are so massively talented. Congrats to both of you. I think you’ve come up with a quarantine challenge for the world.
Dan came up with a gem - Mick blew us away. Great stuff, both of you.
It astounds me how much effort Mick will put into his projects. Even if he thinks all he is doing is polishing a turd he makes damn sure it’s the best he can do. (By no means am I saying this episode was bad, IT WAS EPIC!) truly astonishing how you two produce creative sounds under pressure and outside of your comfort zone!
Combines, drones and wig. "OK, We're gonna get out of our comfort zone." 335's and Dope Priests and enough wah tones to make Hammett approve.. Epic video gents..
This might be my favorite video this channel has ever done.
Boys! Ha! Crushed it! Well done and thank you! Woke in a shit mode. Drank pot of coffee and watched this at 5 am Chicago time and now all is right in the world again.:. When you end with “Let’s never do this again” “let’s do this all the time” u know I got it right...
This has to have been one of my Favourite TPS episodes! Brilliant music videos!! Dan laughed all the way through yours and Mick bloody hell mate that could be your day job!! Two super talented gents you both inspire us all!
(Erm, it kinda was my day job. Sort of)
This TPS episode was like watching a good movie! Good plot, intriguing twists, humor, great music, side stories, astonishment, laughter, amazement... and informative all the while! Kudos gents!
I absolutely love you guys! Thanks so much!!! We are so very lucky!
I lost it when Mick said "Yeah, got a bit carried away" hahaha. Both tunes were awesome guys. Great show!
Gentlemen: Thank you thank you. That was to quote you guys 'Epic!'. Both of you were way outside MY comfort zone with those pedal choices but you held my attention from beginning to end. I've noticed comments below talking about how supportive you are to each other and yeah that. Extremely entertaining. Thank you.
I'd love to hear Mick expand on his comment about "finding all the creativity in the world for silly stuff". For me, it's almost like creativity for the sake of it, always leads to a dead end, but if there is some other purpose that lowers the stakes of what you're trying to do, especially if it starts out as a bit of a joke, you can really get carried away and end up with something great.
Let’s do this on Monday. So, so relevant’
That Pedal Show Absolutely! My favorite song that I’ve written to date started out as a joke title my friend gave me: Randall Found a Dollar.
It ended up being a great song with a story about how things don’t always turn out achieving the things you want doesn’t always bring happiness. I would never have written that song without that joke of a title.
I’ve been struggling with clinical depression for a while now. Nothing picks me up of it like seeing your friendly banter and friendship and hearing your musicianship. Thank you.
Sending our best to you Andreas. Hopefully you’re getting some help and know that you can get it to an entirely manageable place. Maybe even beat it some day.
With all my heart I say try not to worry about ‘one day’ in the future. Just be in this moment and tell your mind to fuck off. Apologies for the swearies. :0)
Best to you sir!
I know we sit here and generally blow smoke up your arses because you do an amazing job and entertain etc etc but actually you two are very, very talented you know! Both tracks were mixed so bloody well. Absolutely cracking job! I'm imagining a Sally Anne Evans vocal over Micks track - it would be immense.
Thank you Stanford, very kind!
What a great way to demo gear. Inspiring, entertaining, goosebump inducing and enlightening. More of this please.
Mick's track sounds like if Opeth wrote a blues song, and I love it! Great job guys!
That was absolutely awesome! I also think there's a real lesson about the creative power that comes with not taking yourself, or what you're doing, too seriously. I know I suffer from that - this idea that what I'm doing is important/meaningful and that it has to be "good" - but again and again the best creative experiences seem to happen when I let that go and just give myself permission to be a little silly. Yet, somehow, I keep needing to relearn that lesson. We should all get "a bit carried away" more often. Thank you both for the refresher!
You speak the truth Erik! How do we bottle this and... give it to ourselves for free!?
"I got carried away" says Mick. Understatement of 2020 😂😂
Loved both tracks. Great work guys.
I want to be as creative and inspiring as Dan. He turned on the pedals and I was floored by what he pulled out in 30 seconds 🤭 EDIT: Mick didn’t even need 30 seconds before he was done with something awesome!
Hands down best video I’ve seen on RUclips.
ive said that to all my ex-girlfriends.....key word is ex.
LukeDavid86 aye! 😎😉
I absolutely LOVE this. Sometimes as guitar players we get so caught up in the serial numbers of a particular transistor inside a pedal that we forget to make music. Especially with all gigs being off the table. This was so very inspiring!
I watch your show with headphones all the time. My wife walked by and asked "What is so funny?" She looked at my screen and saw I was watching you guys .... she walked away completely confused. Easily the best guitar show on the internet. Epic!
Ah man, thanks! The missus should be happy you’re indulging in wholesome infotainment. :0)
57:11 - Dan's "brought a knife to a gunfight" moment :D
digiscream Either that, or Mick brought a lightsaber to a knife fight!
This was an amazing adventure that I wouldn't have imagined coming out the way it did. In many ways, you took us (the viewer) out of our comfort zones. That Pedal Show is a familiar environment where the protagonists of the show allow us to vicariously experience gear without coming out of our pockets to do so. Today you transported us into the vivid imaginations of two wild men on a mission! Well done guys! I'm thoroughly impressed by what you've done here!
Mick, we're going to make a metalhead out of you yet ;) That song was your first step into the world of heaviness.
The funniest part for me was that Dan’s song literally gave me chills! Well done!
I am also one of those people who never post or reply on public sites but had to do it for this episode of TPS, Everything you guys do is both informative and so helpful on many levels, So I have to first of all thank you for that ! This idea/ concept for an episode was awesome !!! I think it will be inspiring to many people who could benefit from getting out of their comfort zone ( not just musically) You guys are obviously friends and can push each other in a positive way but it also reminded me of many times I have been in life situations with people who were not my friends and how inspiration/ taking the time to know and understand others / how competition/ being challenged can still be a positive part in being motivated when working together with others. What can be accomplished with an open mind and spirit is made apparent here !!! Thanks to both of you and to what I’m sure is many others who were part of this episode and those who make what you do on a regular basis possible!!! I think you should do another episode like this but together. This truly shows how talented / creative/ productive you guys are in a way not seen before in TPS alone !!! Thanks!!!
Thank you B, those are some verily heartening kind words. Peace!
This has been one of, if not my favourite episode ever. I laughed so much, my wife kept laughing at how into it I was. But it was truly brilliant watching, such a creative episode. I love it! Cheers for brightening up my Friday. I am now off to put a filter on my board now.
I’m way down on the comments but I hope you guys see it. As a TV producer and editor I’m always pressured by time and find ways to cut time. Thank you for not doing that and being so indulgent with your processes. Inspiring indeed! Cheers!
Cheers Jason 🤓👍
This video is an absolute gem. I enjoy the long videos, but I fear a lot of viewers probably didn't stick around for the song reveals. Absolutely brilliant! Thanks guys.
Mick and Dan....it WAS epic! That was one of the most entertaining and inspiring videos on RUclips that I have seen in a loooooong time. Whoever came up with that idea, kudos to you. I hope all of us watching and listening look at our collection of guitars, amps, and pedals and take the same type of risks for the sake of music and creativity.
Attention Rick Beato: NO, all of the great song ideas have not been taken. This video is proof.
Congratulations on a masterpiece of RUclips content.
Rock on.
Scott Rand When it becomes possible to do in-person visits again, TPS should do an episode with Rick Beato! God only knows WHAT the hell they'd have to talk about, but it sure as hell would be great fun to see them all in the same room! ...With the Captain??
I thought Dan’s track was awesome but Mick’s track literally has me in tears. That doesn’t happen too often here fellas. Great work.
Ah bless you Tony. Thank you sir!
Honestly, Mick, you channelled Chris Cornell so well with that one that I could _hear_ him singing over that
Bless you Gary. I’ve had a lot of compliments for this... but any mention of Mr Cornell is a stratospheric high point. I loved that man. Tears in my eyes when I hear him now. Cheers!
That Pedal Show is actually love it being a “full” length cut on streaming or to buy
For the musician who has everything: A real comrade who knows you well, and can curate a uniquely interesting time for you.
Genuinely heartwarming stuff.
