  • Behind every animal rescue, recovery and release is a story. Over the years and across all projects, we have continued to share these stories with you. From Budi the orangutan, to the Papaya howler troop, you have witnessed transformations through the eyes of hundreds of animals in our care. Many of which are sadly found orphaned and face incredible hardships on their road to recovery.
But today we wanted to do something different. With today being Mother’s Day, we wanted to shine a light on the brave and resilient women who act as surrogate mothers to these poor animals at the IAR Costa Rica Center.
The women who make these miraculous recoveries possible.
The women who open their hearts and arms to each and every animal.
The women who save the lives.
Without them, there would be no happy endings and no stories to share with you.
So now it’s time to tell their story.
