Is easier to understand Oli screaming then when he talks regularly.
very true
Most british singers are that way
Thought I was watching Punk Rock MBA's video lol
same ahaha
Same I was like wtf then rechecked the title 😭
0:00 I'm not a rock or metal producer but this is my home on RUclips
That introduction confused the hell out of me.
2:14 shit that sounds G O O D
BMTH, Punk Rock MBA, URM Academy, I'm having a good time.
These types of videos are super useful for comparing my raw vocals to theirs. Especially for screams, knowing there is a distortion plug-in or not really helps me determine if I am doing it right.
Oli screams here sound pretty fucked up right? Sounds like he’s putting way too much pressure on his vocal cords
@@angryktulhu maybe, since he had some sort of vocal trauma that would make sense.
You need good technique not comparison
this was SO HELPFUL. Thanks for posting!
03:21 OMG
35 dB hahaha amazing
cool to get an inside scoop, thanks
Not my type of music, but Nordstrom is a legend.
This deserves all the f'ing views in the world.
I always thought the way the vocals sounded made it feel like he was "jumping in and out" on each sentence at least i know i was right
Thank you !
What was his last move? the heat thing at the end of the video?
Which channel am I on?
I love that song. You should too.
Very epic
Epic sound
This question is probably dumb. But how does he know that he used 35 DB compression on the vocals? Did he calculate the threshold or what?
lmao you dumb ass
Yessssssss
What microphone did they use?
13:37 nice
What’s the outro song, sounds like drewsif
It is!
URM Academy god he’s a talented individual. I need him to release more music NOW!
I actually recognized his impact sample haha
whats the song called?
Who's video is this?
Fab Filter Saturn steals PT Heat's lunch money everyday on the bus
Linkin park mr
I thought this dude didn't like BMTH why does he make alot of videos with them in it.
Clickbait
Open mindedness. You think Anthony Fantany only reviews albums he likes? God no
It’s possible to talk about something objectively and put your personal opinion aside :)
You don’t need to be a rock or metal dude for this? Using tips like this in future bounce etc, got like jumping bass and hi hats and high noises. U will achive the same?? Hoping for answears. :)
Hey bro, I'm both a metal and EDM producer... Those "tips" are made specifically for mixing metal screams, so you can't apply them directly to other type of sounds
You can, tho, try to understand what every effect does to the sound, because many effects used in this video are really useful also in other music styles, like compression, eqing... If you watch those videos, you need to watch them in a way that you really understand what every effect actually does, and why it's there, so you can then apply them to every sound knowing what you're doing :D
@@simoneferrarese4794 Thanks for the answear. i will try and acchive a new wave of a genre maybe "impossible"
@@fredericyearedstoa2446 Metal bounce? Metal house? ;D
@@simoneferrarese4794 yes mate xD
7:05 Jason Momoa?
this guy says that he doesn't really appreciate bmth, but keeps talking about oli sykes and his band lol
Doesn’t matter what my personal tastes are - if you’re smart you will learn from anyone, whether it’s something you personally like or not
Ikr
give me for frfee
oK ssSurrre
I didn’t know Fredrik and BMTH invented vocal compression way back in the dark ages of 2008. Thanks for the history lesson.
Who said they did?
“One of the first songs in the genre that brought a lot of those post production tricks to the table”
DiamondLifer He’s obviously not referring to basic stuff like compression and EQ... He’s referring to the extra production effects like stutters, pitch bends, etc.
Correct
Julian Worden Interesting. Maybe, but this video and the statement was referring to vocal production. Those “stutters” and “pitch bends” as you call them which also aren’t anything new to glorify are master track post production effects. In terms of vocals only, it’s a great chain and production but there’s nothing new or groundbreaking (not even for the genre) being done here. With that being said I do enjoy this album and production.
His screams sound a bit unhealthy to me... Way too much of his voice in it... Not surprised he had vocal issues
Okay but it’s 2019, why is he using such an old song? Lol
Daryan Rheonna cause it’s metal duuuhhh
Because fuck you amo fan hahaha
Daryan Rheonna cause it is iconic.
Cause is their better stuff.
Bruno Romão Y I K E S lmao thanks for the crazy assumption, though my comment definitely had nothing to do with liking Amo, but alright lmao boys will be boys 🤣🙄
Can we stop with the guy thats talking super loud before every video. Super annoying and a waste of time.
Feels like a 16 year olds gaming channel
@@mekanikaltitan Yikes, guess you've never seen his channel that actually has some great content.
@@christian2994 on this channel its more annoying than anything else
Thanks for the feedback! The idea is to talk a bit about why we chose this particular clip rather than just drop you into it, but maybe there is a better way to do it
Hey, why the hate? He made a short introduction. There´s nothing wrong with it.
