    Kino, you provide leadership, education, encouragement... have always been a morning person, I practice M 0930, W(at 0700 and at 0830), F(0830) for 4 sessions a week at YogaShop...I am 70 and started 18 months ago...wonderful physical and mental feelings...I leave with a smile, maybe a fatigued, sweaty smile, but a smile...thank you !!!

    I am one of these crazy people who need between 9 and 10 hours of sleep to really feel fully operational, and I also happen to have a full time job, so I have no idea how I could possibly practice early in the morning, or maybe during vacation. I happen to practice almost every day after work, in the late afternoon or evening, and I feel great that I can stick to this commitment, even if it is not the optimal way of taking advantage of yoga. Enjoy the practice :)

    This is very interesting to me bc I shield myself from the people I work with when they comment on my smooth composure and graceful nature.. I know it’s from my practice on my mat because that is a direct expression of how I render myself off my mat. But because of their presumptions of what “yoga” is in their limited interpretation I just keep it to myself. I say to myself out of soothing their judgement “yoga cannot be bad if when I’m on my mat I am only thinking and connecting with God” plus I’ve been practicing getting on my mat for 9 years now and so my interpretation and understanding of yoga is of The Creator and therefore I don’t worry of their judgements anyhow. I just find it interesting how they are so drawn to my deposition but don’t know it’s from something they cast harsh and inaccurate judgement on.

    I changed my practice schedule too, but it's due to a change in my circadian rythm (due to a gut bacteria that can't be removed). I now wake up around 2 a.m., then first thing is cycling, then weights, and eventually yoga. I eat breakfast only after the shower that follows the practice. And I genuinely appreciate the quietness of practising early ; plus, this sets me in a good mood for the entire day😀

    When I practice in the morning, I just practice in my PJs 😁🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏽♥️ Working on starting earlier than usual ✌🏽 Gratefully appreciated Kino ✌🏽☺️

    Very interesting topic... Thank you so much Kino for these great advices. Through these 20 years I always thought that practicing yoga early is so difficult. In daily life more than in India. My job is musician and i cannot go to bed at early time.... But what about sleeping in the day ?

    Well, I have no trouble practicing yoga first thing in the "morning" (or second, after a cup of coffee), even if sometimes that's around noon for me 😅. Not sure about this brahma muharta thing... but it was interesting to hear about your experience. I consider yoga practice one of the most important foundations in life, but getting enough sleep at all costs is even *more* fundamental, so "sacrificing" sleep is a no-go.

    Thanks for sharing Kino. It makes a lot of sense why it’s best to practice early morning…….but like you, I’m not an early (4:30) morning person 🙂😎.
    I found yoga keeps me at peace within. It helps to not listen to any news media that tries to keep you in a negative space 😃

    Practice when you can. Some of us don't have the luxury of free time in the morning.

      agreed, so hard if you are raising small humans who wake you up all night, and/or you have work etc..... i think being flexible with your individual situation is key

    Dear Kino, thank you so much for sharing this. I have been practicing with you for 8 years now 3/4 times a week always early in the morning! I'm lucky I'm an early person so is not a big deal for me. I agree yoga first thing in the morning is the best way to start your day. Enjoy 😊. Peace and love to you. ❤

    Yoga is similar to (competitional) swimming in some sense ; if you don't get my point check out the daily routine of a pro swimmer... and i trully believe that swimmers could get much benefits from practicing yoga.

    I totally agree with you, I’m a morning person and before my work shifts changed I used to do yoga every day at 6:00am and I can say it’s priceless

    Thank you, helpful and inspiring 🙏 Dear Kino, What to do if a person is practicing more than one series, and misses Primary series due to a moon day? Should I practice primary last day before moon day? Or should I practice primary series on the first day of my next week of practice? Or should I skip it altogether? Also curious if there is an Ashtanga “rule” on this.. what’s your personal preference?
