I own Rolex and Breitling but no other watch amazes me more than my G-Shock MTG B1000. Solar powered….auto sets itself after being stored for over a year and still looks badass. Love these watches and you get so much “reliable” watch and tech for the price. If I had 1 watch to grab from my house as the apocalypse hit…. It would be my G-Shock!
Good comparison, I have the older version gwg-1000-1a3er and recently bought the GWG-B1000-3AER green version, and I love it the green tint of the lcd is perfect for this version. Also on the green version the crown guard and the sensor cover is also green, matching with the band. If you read the description on the g-shock website, you will find out that all the buttons are mede from stainless steel with black ion coating. And all the parts of the bezel except for the crown guard and sensors cover, are made from solid stainless steel. But I like the full lumed markers on my old GWG-1000-1A3ER. Also the crystal is more protected on the older model, the resin bezel is hiding the little scratches, unlike this new metal one, and it's easier to replace and cheaper.
I agree Between the red and black was a hard one. I wanted to buy the red one then buy a black band to put on it! However the watch itself is enough money spent. Also agree with you on the 3 oclock indicator should have been brass instead of silver. The 3 little holes in the buttons got modified on the light button. I filled them in with amber to match the dial. Also did the crowns 3 little holes in red to match the dial.Hard to believe what a striking difference it made to the overall look without adding to much colour to this awesome black version! Cheers. BTW I’m 56
I have the 2000 and it's nice. I tried this one on at a store today and it's cool but not worth the upgrade. The 2000 carbon fiber is a step up jsut in that spec alone
Very attractive watch. I feel you on the price. Here in Aus it's retailing for A$1600 (USD$1040) so I might wait a while. Why Casio WHY?? Not found in the Japanese G-shock store, interestingly.
Good video. Thanks for making an alternative to the official Casio marketing videos. The way I see it the 1000, b1000, and 2000 are like different models of cars made by the same company that have similarities. The plastic side buttons came as a surprise to me. It's a beautiful piece, and I hope you get years of great use out of it. Maybe make another video showing the connectivity to the app and some of the features? I'd really like to see how the left side button works. I have the 1000 and 2000. I'm wondering if the price on this will come down at all in the future. So far, Amazon only has them from one Japanese seller. By the way, I think you're referring to the crown as the "dial".
Excellent observation! Yes so after looking closely the only plastic button is the center button that activates the light. The other four are black metal it seems. Yes i was referring to the crown. That too seems to be metal. But i love the crown on the 2000. It looks amazing. So the app is working better with this watch. I have a few other casio watches that don't seem to work well with it. Also it aeems if you don't use the app for a long time it logs upu out and some info gets lost that has to be reconfigured. The worst part for me though is the app is constantly notifying me it is looking for a connection. Really annoying. It is a great watch, the b1000. I have been slightly annoyed about the digital display. Its definitely greenish blue and not black with white numbers/letters. Very deceiving of casio.
The GWG 1000 is a stand alone watch. You don't need a phone, a wifi network, or a satellite to use it. My personal choice is the GWG 1000 iA3JF, with the green strap, white face, and super bright lum. The deep set sapphire crystal glass, vibe, shock, and mud resist buttons with deep knurling, is all business, no frills, nothing extra, you don't need. What more could you want? A facelift will cost you $10 for a new crown guard for the GWG 1000, Those 2000s will cost you hundreds of dollars for the same facelift. Same watch, same functions. One is resin, the other carbon. The GWG 1000 is king of the Mudmasters, all the others are abbreviated versions of the king. If you disagree, maybe you should buy a smartwatch, instead of the toughest watch on the planet.
So excited to upgrade to the gravity master version of this from the ggb100. I really hope they flip it like they did the other one. You can do solar atomic figure 8 calibration.. im in! lol
Hello champion !!! Between the two watches, GWG-2000-1A3ER and GWG-B1000-3AER. which one would you buy in your humble opinion with what you have already experienced in these two watches? Since the price is similar. (If there is also someone who can advise me, I would appreciate it in advance, THANK YOU!!!)
I kinda like the “Christmas tree” and sorta want one. I can’t stand the Casio APP, especially considering they demanded an email for registration and now there’s pretty much daily communication.
Does this watch have a pedometer? Evidently there was/is an issue w the atomic timekeeping not synching properly... its that why they took it off the casio site?
The new mud master has now been withdrawn from sale in the U.K. because of a problem with the automatic radio time signal not working at night it will work if you do it manually the is a software update in the casino app I upload to my watch yesterday and after having in the window last night it is still not working how the problem got past Casio quality control is beyond me 😢
Man, your voice sure sounds 30 years younger than someone talking about the 80s:) Anyway, same here regarding wearing a red watch lol, I am also between this and the red one, but leaning towards the red one regardless. As you say, at least on pics and video it looks amazing. The only thing I'd like to know is the exact red tone, in some picks it looks like a kind of washed out cherry red. If that's the case, then I will pass I'm afraid. But if it's a warmer, burgundy kind of red, then who cares about wearing red, it looks so nice I'll get it anyway!
Thanks man actually I'm 53 years old lol. So yeah I agree with you about the color. The Burgundy is nice. Seems like the black one thati have is out of stock. Red and green are still available.
@@billbog25 We are the same age:) Well I probably live in a different continent to you, so let's see what will be available here, hopefully I can see it in person.
We don’t have the new watch in the U.K. yet I agree with you about the new app you should have the choice on what you see the watches cost a lot of money casio to my have cheeped themselves buy putting an app like this
Well said. I hope you can get the watch at some point if ypu are interested. The app just seems too busy compared to what it was before. Simple. A utility. Which is what it should be. Take care and thanks for the comments.
@@billbog25 Casio calls this new button material "Metal Injection Molding". Great comparison vid! Yeah the red one is iconic for sure! Maybe a bit loud for everyday wear
The four buttons on the sides are in fact metal. Really hard to tell when your looking at them. However, the center button that turns on the light IS plastic surrounded by metal. 😢
The color scheme on the face dial for the -1a4 (e.g., dull maroon colored band) is different from your model. Example ... the dial on the right that you wish was NOT silver is gold-colored.
So from what I can tell the dial at 3 o'clock is for when in compass mode. As for the numbers at the 9 o'clock position it depends on the mode you are in but for barometer it is the pressure up or down. For the altimeter it seems to be altitude changes. I agree with you about dials and indicators but this watch face isn't as busy as others. Hell it doesn't even have a 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock number. 😅
To build in a negativ display in this kind of watch an pcrice range it ist just a shame. At most of the time the fricking display is just not readable. A watch that is just not worth the money.
It isn't a review. It's a discussion and unboxing. I state right off the bat that I am not going over the features. You already know them. I just wanted to point out a few things and start a discussion. Sorry you missed the point. I'm not going to review the watch I'll leave that for the professionals out there.
