Train Simulator | Clinchfield Railroad 'E-3' | 4-6-6-4

The Clinchfield Railroads E-3 came to us lickity-split for the Heavy Challenger pack from Train Simulator developer 'Smokebox'. As promised and definitely delivered the update to the pack (linked below on Steam for 24.99) is a free update at that and only requires you updating TS via the Steam store. If you didn't have the pack before and purchase from this day forward, you'll now have the 4-6-6-4 in Union Pacific, D&RGW and now the CRR builds.

Fun fact: the Challenger that operated the Santa Train in 1992 was Union Pacific 3985 masquerading as a clinchfield Challenger. The number on the locomotive was number 676 and was never on the clinchfield roster officially. The reason this was done was because this was the 40th anniversary of the Santa Train at the time and CSX transportation wanted to do something special much like they did later in 2017:with clinchfield Railroad F7 800.

So the thing with the some of the features, If you don't notice key things in the patch that aren't showing up properly, just do a fresh reinstall. delete the UP3900 folder in assets if you have to, it's what happened to me

I hope smokebox or some other dev eventually gives us one or a couple of the non-UP 4-6-6-4s like D&RGW's Baldwin L-105 class or WM's M2 class.
WP had a couple as well that'd look incredible on Feather River, though personally I'd rather see their massive 2-8-8-2s first as they were said to be as powerful as a big boy and they just look... _mean_

Smokebox usually makes Steam Locomotive dlcs, not Diesel Locomotive dlcs. That would be a good recommendation for Searchlight Simulations though.

How does one add the E-3 to a scenario? When I try to add it or create a scenario, I just get the CRR diesel locos available with the route addons.

I thought the Clinchfield Challenger locomotives had a single smokestack not a double stack like the Union Pacific Challenger locomotives

The Clinchfield Challengers (E-3) had double stacks when transferred from the Rio Grande but were converted to single stack some time later. I have several photos showing the E-3 with double stack (and no, they aren't photos of 3985 posing as a Clinchfield Challenger).

Yes (if Steam's automatic updates option is enabled, which it is by default).
