- Commissioned from a community member comes this Train Simulator pack spearheaded by none other than 'Machine Rail'.
The Illinois Central RR's 1500 class / 2-8-2 / "Mikes" were a long-time staple of the IC serving all the way up until 1960. This pack is shaped as the Lima derived variants from the 1923 order as well as ICRR's own specified units.
Therefore, this pack include 2 variants of the loco as well as 7 pieces of era appropriate rolling stock in their own variants as well.

I purchased this pack the very second they released it!! Machine Rail keeps getting better with everything they release. If the developers at DTG would release this quality of content TSC would be the best Train Simulator on the market!
TSC really needs a quality period route to go with packs like this.
The commissioner is working on a steam/transition-era IC route actually.

The Machine rail group just keeps getting better, I'm thinking about it, if no one else has done it yet, commissioning Southern 4501 and 630.

LOLZ. I thought the same for 2 seconds! Honestly? These models are so good! The garbage most devs are coming out with on the most modern gaming engines isn't this good! Worth buying this pack if you are into old steam! The whistle alone is worth the $20.00 US. LOL.
What I would critisize:
- The wood of the boxcar shines way too much. Gloss should be easily reduced by darkening the alpha channel in the texture.
- The weight of all cars is completely wrong: an empty car often weighs as much as a half-loaded car, and the mass that can be added when loaded in the game is always the same and far too little (12t).
- Fixed loaded wagons are missing, it is easy to create them and with the right weight the locomotives would really have something to do (much more realistic).
- Just to mention : The inscription regarding the weight on the refrigerator car is also wrong.
So that no false impression is created: I think the package is great, it's worth buying it.
For me as a German it's less than 20 €, considering the quality of the shown assets, a little to low a price.

After being disappointed by Altfuture and the DV 'simulator' update, I'm finding myself wanting to just go back to TSC and a few good packs! I'm so impressed by this pack and your demo! What a beautiful job modeling sound and 3d. Just imagine what would happen if these folks all had a base game engine platform like Unreal 5.2 and ray tracing! OMG. One can dream! SOME DAY!
Can I ask what as disappointed you about the last DV update?
@@Diego-ih8kv I'll be very specific: In order to drive certain locomotives you still must complete tasks to earn money and buy the appropriate license. Calling that a SANDBOX is a bit of a stretch IMHO and many others with same opinion. There are two modes. CAREER and SANDBOX. One might 'assume' the whole point of SANDBOX is to jump in the open world and play with ALL assets immediately! Not the case. I don't have the extra time to play through the game to earn the privilege to mess with steam loco etc. I can just go to Railroad Online and enjoy all assets by an easy online cheat that gives infinite money.
Likewise, there are many great train sims that don't involve 'earning' your way to drive different engines! Devs really missed the boat. I hope enough complaints will get back to the DEVS to off a simple solution to this concern.

I love this game and have been playing since 2014 but it is getting so hard to play. I load a few engines and say 100 rail cars and I get that crash screen about running out of memory and my computer is a x570 with 5950X, 6950x and 128 gig memory plus all the SSD it could ask for. I wish they would fix that. I wish we could flood the map with railcars and locos alike.
I recently bought these and my locomotive numbers don't match the tender numbers. I'm using them through the custom consist and quick drive.

You shouldn't really need the blower while the engine is working.
Why does my tender show it only has 13 gallons of water in it did you have that issue when you bought yours? They did say they released a patch. I installed it through the utilities installer. It said it already existed, but does not work. Tried to reach out to machine rail to no avail. Anybody have any solutions?

I commissioned the locomotive and rolling stock for my Illinois Central Route “Iroquois Prairielands.” Machine Rail was the principal builder, and DSGDDR helped with certain elements.
