no need to take the train backwards in the beginning, just keep the gear selector at 1 or 2 and give throttle, it should be able to move up the gradient. i was able to do it when i was playing this scenario.
Lmao, I was getting comments in the Train Sim World 2 version of this service to try rolling back down the hill and that took me like 3 hours to do this same exact service on that method you just told me.
@@NealTV8 why did it took you 3 hours to complete by the method i told you? didn't you change gears after the gradient decreased a bit and you gained speed. i did it again today and was able to complete it in around 1hrs 50 mins.
@@AnujSharma-sy2sm I don't know on how the selector works since I'm more of a modern loco person. The SD40 doesn't use gears since they have traction motors and setting the selector would tell the lash up on how many locos will be used to move the train. Which is then something on how the tutorial of this loco did not tell me how it is used correctly and told me that should be set to 1.
@@NealTV8 i guess if you keep the selector at 1 all the locos will work, but the gear ratio will change a bit and it will generate more torque and less speed, like how we have in 4*4 cars. what i did was, kept the selector at 1 and throttle at 5 till the gradient was >1 and one the train gained a bit speed, immediately bring down the throttle to idle and move the selector to 2 and then again move the throttle to 5 and then continued this process all the way till 4th position on the selector. try it out once just the beginning part might be helpful.
