On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

2:24 that's awesome the Tornado's are coming up, looking forward to that! I would love to see DCS expand more into the bomber market. Planes like the F-111, F-117, B-2, Avro Vulcan, etc. are all such iconic warplanes. It'd be amazing to be able to do a low level run in an Aardvark, screaming in below AA defenses, then climbing on full afterburner to release munitions and haul a** outta there... It's a shame there aren't any bombers really available now :/
I thought that Tornado pilots broke out in hives if they flew above a couple hundred feet and was most comfortable flying between the rocks and pebbles on the desert floor.
I once heard a story where an EF-111 Raven (an unarmed aircraft) got an air-to-air kill against a Mirage F1. That boi pulled a WW2 and juked the sh*t outta that Mirage. The Mirage actually crashed into a hill.
@@longshot7601,🤣but actually later in Operation Desert Storm actually, they moved to medium altitude bombing (With Bucanners for lasing) once the Iraqi Air force had essentially been wiped out.

The Tornado is such a great aircraft. Fast, low and packs a huge punch.
And packing cluster bombs. Can you imagine being on the ground when those hit? You're TOAST.
It looks great, but that tailfin must bounce radar like a b-52.

@@Throw_Down I'd like to see GR1s with the JP233 pod. That was one of the most brutal weapons ever made: crater charges to destroy runways mixed in with small anti-personnel mines to mess with the other side's engineers.

I wish they started making air warfare movies with more realism. When you start to learn how the cat and mouse tactics work, you end up on the edge of your seat.
I realise that it wouldn't do very well at the box office, but I can't help wishing someone would do it anyway. All they want to focus on are dogfights, and even then, all they're concerned with are cobra maneuvers and jinking. There's no rate fighting, no rolling scissors pattern fighting. Everything has to be high impact and jerky.
The recent Felon and Typhoon GS video had the most elegant rolling scissors fight that was an art form on its own.
Maybe it just doesn't translate very well into theatrical productions...

4:36 Lieutenant Zuhair Dawood, flying a MiG-25, fired an R-40 at a F/A-18 flown by Lieutenant Commander Michael Speicher who was KIA and buried by Bedouins. His body was finally retrieved 18 years later.

Exact the same thing was trained yesterday over our town. Two Tornados and two F-18 flew an exercise in the "Colbitz Letzlinger Heide" and it looked the same.😀
The Panavia Tornado is still the most aesthetically pleasing fighter ever built for me, for some reason. Hyped to see it coming to DCS and hope you'll be doing some more missions with it!

The F-16 has a BVR kill on a Mig-25. Happened during Operation Northern Watch in 1992.
Well it wasn't a BVR kill (The AIm-120A was shot within 5 miles) but yeah it was the first kill from an F-16.

I really wish ED would release an early C model from the late 1980s without the HMD and probably without the GPS / IFA so we can play around with the older type Hornets, kinda force the other guys to play nice in the late cold war scenarios. Fun to watch the Sparrow do its thing. So many missiles miss of the Fox 1

Sparrow missiles may not be the best missiles, but you have heard of them.
I have an old FA-18 Korea simulation game and in this game it is much easier to win a fight against an FA-18 if you are in a SU-27 than the other way around. Even if you are in a Mig-21. For the Mig-21 (in this game) it happens that if you make a hard turn (while dropping decoys) just a second before impact - you survive unscathed. I Love Your videos, they are entertaining.
I've really been struggling with the radar on the 18. It would be really cool if you could maybe do a BVR fight and commentary explaining thought process. I know you work hard on these videos and I appreciate that.

The Hornet kicks ass, even though I have a personal bias towards the Super Hornet.
I know we pooh-pooh the Sparrow these days, but for what it is? It was pretty good for its time. And it's still in use as a SAM (the Sea Sparrow variant).
really love the F-18 content, recently picked it up with the first purchase discount and it's my favourite aircraft :) keep up the good content and hope to see more Hornet vids

So basically, the few Eastern European nations that still have Mig-29s should look at swapping out the old Soviet avionics, radar and fire control for the stuff in the Super Hornets, and they'd have seriously good fighter and attack aircraft. I have no idea if any of that stuff could actually be retrofitted without stripping the aircraft and starting over, but it sounded cool.
Cool idea. 4th gen. Soviet / Russian crafts have formidable design, thrust, and even missiles, but western radars and avionics are much better.
Likely not worth the cost and time since the airframes are probable near end of life and practically out of production. They're better off picking up hand-me-downs F16s with all that kit already installed.

You absolutely need a Tornado pilot to fly with when it drops at least once. Those guys are some mad mates! Tornados are fast af and insanely loud! They used to buzz our tents at 25-50ft off the deck when I was deployed and watching them in burner that low around 2am was epic.

Hey man I apologize for just piling up more praise and thanks for everything everyone else has been doing great at telling you before I became a subscriber. What can I say about your channel and videos that hasn't already been said? How about I just add that I have been fascinated with airplanes and warplanes especially since I was old enough to tell the difference between a F-4, F-5,14, 15,16,18.... I'm partial to the American made birds for sure, but make no mistake of thinking I enjoy the simulations of other countries planes any less. Just a great great thing you have here. It's pretty dang impossible not to be fascinated, educated, and entertained I'm certain of that. If it's permitted, I would say that I personally really appreciate the videos with the WW2 era planes. As much as I would like to see a B-17 Mission to bomb Berlin with you in a P-51 escort fighter... I am aware of the timeframe and your typical B-17 had 10 crew members plus fly the mustang escort. You do a great job with the channel man I found myself in anticipation of the new content, most recent vids..👍👍🤔😎✌️
I've started learning the F18, and alter almost a week on the training missions, i completely agree with you: heavy boy, not made for pure A/A but very capable nonetheless, which is awesome for me because i'm a newbie at SA. Clearly A/G oriented.
I'm struggling a lot on A/G mode (JSOW multitargeting, won't focus pod's view on my WYPTDSG, often confusing several data entry parameters, etc.). But once i'll master all this, it's going to be an amazing plateform to fly with!

I am surprised the F-18 could keep up with the Tornado at low level. The Tornadoes were reported to be very fast at low altitude.
Tbh I dont think the speed difference would be that big, most planes are limited to high subsonic speeds at low altitude anyway.
And the F-18 with light A2A armaments is way faster than most people would expect, its almost like an F-16 light with better turn performance. The Tornados quality is that its fast despite carrying a bunch of heavy bombs.

I love the fact that DCS doesn't have a visual rendering problem like War Thunder it doesn't matter how close or how far, if they are low bear the ground they turn invisible almost.
That's a cool advantage for an aircraft, situational awareness.

Speaking of fox three missles, is it possible to mount the aim-54 onto the hornet or eagle for a “what if” scenario intercept, especially since the air force played around wuth the idea of phoenix missiles on the eagle.
