One of the rare sincere reactors. You can see her truly soaking every musical finesse of this great band. I would recommend to listen to as many 'old' songs before moving to the last album, cause Fear Inoculum kinda sums up their whole discography, especially song 7empest.

angry Maynard? Ticks and Leaches...
So rumour has it that the angry scream at the end was supposed to be 29.5 seconds to represent the 29.5 years Saturn takes to make a full trip around the sun but he could only make it 25 seconds because he nearly passed out during the take you hear. The band didn’t want to risk him trying it again.
But seriously, Right in Two needs to be heard after you've consumed more Tool first.
This is my favorite Tool album. I could listen to it everyday and never get tired of it.
I have, for many years. I honestly think I wouldn't be here now without it. Their music hits the soul in the most unique way. Pulls you straight out of the darkness and places you gently down on the plane of renewal.
Yep, Lateralus is my favorite song period. I can listen to Lateralus and then the Holy Trinity daily👍

Right in Two is definitely worth a reaction. The whole instrumental section from interlude through the breakdown is sublime.
The fact that you can't wipe that killer smile off your face is the best....THIS Fucking band has been this badass for 30 years! This song itself is 20 years old and I still crank it up as loud as it can go every time it comes on! Maynard is legit badass but this song belongs to Mr Carey!!! The best drummer on the planet!
Tool is meant to be experienced. There’s no comparison from one song to the next because they’re all meant to convey a different message and feeling !!!
Of the 500+ BANDS I've seen live NOT 1 even comes close to the perfection that is TOOL
I saw them on Father's day in 2018 and it was by far the best concert I've ever been to. They opened with this song (which is my favorite Tool song) and the rest of the set were ALL of my other favorite tracks by them. I was beyond thrilled to say the least haha and the best part is how insanely loud the concert was, I want my music played so loud that my bones will explode and they certainly delivered🤣

I’m a huge Tool fan. They’re one of my favorites ever. At one point they were my favorite band. But they’re not the best in the world.

@@MusicCatsandCoffee If you want actual angry Maynard. There is a song called Hooker with a Penis which is about a guy who claimed to be a fan who accused Maynard and tool of selling out. Rumour is that it was Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit. Oh the Irony if it was true.

It's kind of funny because I love ALL of their albums, but Undertow and Fear Inoculum are my most favorite with Lateralus following as my third. I think it's funny because of how early Undertow is and how late Fear Incoulum is. Especially since I wasn't a fan of Fear Inoculum at first, but I honestly think my expectations were different. Silly me, I was wrong.

Awesome video! The grudge is tied as my fav with a few others... you can’t have only one favorite tool song. I’ve tried to pin point it but once you listen to all the songs again it changes lol. You seem to like the songs that really go on a journey and have lots of changes. Might be a little early to suggest this but it’s another of my favorites from tool. Lost keys /Rosetta stoned. I'm curious to see if you'll be as enthusiastic about the older, "angrier" Tool. HWAP and Ticks and Leaches are probably the angriest newer Tool songs. Undertow is almost completely angry, your word not mine, but then they were a little less polished back then and in your face was certainly their style. Aggressive I think is a better description, but I can totally see where you're coming from. Once the royalties and accolades start pouring in it must be tough to retain that ruthless tone, but they did, at least up to Aenema. Ticks and Leaches being the exception on 10000 Days, the newer material is much more introspective. Please don't give up on Tool and Maynard. There's literally a ton of great material here to react to. Thanks for posting!

Love watching your mind being blown with every Tool song you hear! I was also late to the Tool party but I have now consumed a fair proportion of their discography! It is my humble opinion that Tool is up there with Pink Floyd as the two pillars of musical genius looking down over all other bands below! I got into tool form listening to a 'Lateralus' reaction/decomposition. It is still one of my go to songs. It's true I can't pick a favorite tool song, I can only pick the tool song that fits my mood at any given moment. Lately that's been 'Invincible'.

Thanks for your reaction. This was your best one yet. This song is the best intro song of any album I have heard. There is lots to like about Tool. I like the use of the synthesizer, I like long guitar power chords and of course insane drums and bass. I tried to count the number of times you smiled but gave up. However, @ 13 min. of the video, you had the biggest smile I have seen on you. I was laughing hard at this point. Was I laughing when you asked about "The Maynard" and I knew what was coming later? Heck yes I was. I had to pause at this point to enjoy the anticipation of his, I think I timed it at 23 seconds, "Epic Maynard". Did not intend to annoy you with my vote for The Grudge, just a happy circumstance. Saturn ascends to me is Saturn orbits the sun about every 28 years, the time it takes for a person to mature (ascending), choose 1 or 10, to me means 1 is the ability to change your life arc, 10 means you have no ability to change your life arc. So as you mature can you let a grudge go or are you going to wear it like a crown of negativity. Let it go. One last question; Did you pee?

I'd like you to check out some earlier Tool. Not that later Tool isn't amazing, but based on what you've said your favorite bands are, I think you'd really like their first album. Check out "Crawl Away" and "Bottom" to start off with. (yes, early Tool is "angry Maynard" Tool)

My favourite song of all time. I bought this album on the day of it's release when I was in Canada on holiday in 2001. Not a single note had been leaked from the album Lateralus and I put the CD in my player and hit play. The Grudge opens the album and I was dumbstruck. I hit repeat 5 times before continuing with the album. Lateralus is also my favourite album of all time

It's my all time favorite Tool song but since you weren't that enthousiast about it in the video, I'm not sure how much early Tool is going to be your cup of tea.

Say, Lauren just curious if you've heard the story of Maynards Mother and the songs dedicated / about her. You're going to have to explore those eventually since well.. it's just what you do. From A Perfect Circle -Mer de Noms - ( Judith ) is angry Maynard. 10,000 days album *significant number there* - ( Intermission/Jimmy ) those two go together. This is a serious song. From Lateralus Album ( The Patient ) *will be your favorite like most Lateralus songs* , then back to 10,000 days for the amazing ( Wings for Marie part 1 - part 2 ) serious tear jerkers.

I was laughing at the “I’m calling that the Maynard” 😂 about the melodies, if you pay attention Maynard actually sings the melodies of the drums at some points and the bass at others in several songs you just have to have the ear to catch it. Welcome to the rabbit hole
