- I put together a video with clips from my 1 year weight loss transformation. It was TRULY a MIND and BODY transformation! And, believe it or not, my MIND transformation was FAR greater than my body transformation. I'm hoping that by showing my transformation it will help provide weight loss motivation to others.

"Do more of what makes you happy" may seem like a over-simplistic explanation, and to some may feel like a disappointing message in light of his transformation. You may feel like you want to know what the "secret" was. I think as simple as the message may first appear, there is some layered depth to it. So often we *don't* do what makes us happy...we do what gives us short-term gratification (food, booze, sex, drugs, etc.), and we deny ourselves the real substantive things in life that ultimately provide the longer term growth and peace of mind. "Do more of what makes you happy" is an affirmation, and a reminder to treat yourself well, be good to yourself, give yourself permission to live your life to it's fullest.
This comment basically sums up what this channel is all about, and what I've been (attempting) to say for 3 years. This could not have been said any better. Thank you Paul Jacobson!!
ETA: this comment is getting lost and it's too important to go unseen. Pinned!
Your channel has motivated me everyday. Not a day goes by that I dont view this video. To remind me what I'm fighting for to make me happy.
you have motivated me and I gonna do it thank u
If u dont talk. Doesn't mean people say you are dumb. STFU
Paul Jacobson Please tell me about program exercise and eating.
You literally did this in the basement of your house with a Craigslist bench set, Sears stationary bike, George Foreman grill, Walmart protein powder, and bagged lettuce. You, my friend, are my new hero.
Exactly what I was gonna say, you don't need fancy gym memberships just dedication and I bet his graph on the wall was hugely motivating to see it every day.
You don't need fancy shit dude you need heart and alot of it. Change comes from within everything external is a reflection of the internal.
lose the waste of money protein powder and he does it even cheaper.
I think the majority's excuse of not going to gym is because it's raining outside, especially living in England.
Clever idea to implement a Gym in your basement.
Joke: wish I had a basement in my apartment 👌😀
That's what I was thinking too. Reminded me of simpler times; rural nature, family, farms, grandparents.
This dude has some serious graphing skills.
This is so underrated 😂
😂😂😂😂👍👍👍
Looks like graph of 1/x ( rectangular hyperbole)
That’s for a different video
Not really, just ordinary graph with X and Y with points as results, which he connects to show the drop line... Just a normal graph which we all study in college with advance math like functions F(x) for example. It’s even studied in some high schools as well.
You can tell this man is very intelligent. He's the only person I've seen graph their weight loss.
Facts 👌
I do 🙄
guarantee he's an engineer...would bet money on that
Or you can use a smart scale and see the progress in your phone.
He wore glasses too.. But he trained himself to be dumber. Lost the glasses later
Notice how the last 10-15% of the weight he wanted to get off took almost as long as the other 85% did before. This is key to take in consideration when you want to reach your dream physique. It's not a linear process, the closer you are to your goal, the slower the process, so just keep grinding and don't give up 💪
So, this is why. I just realized it.
My weight is 51 kg (±112 lbs), but the ideal is 48 kg. It's so.... HARD to lose just 3 kg. And when I can reach it, just 1 meal increase my weight a lot.
@@privaterizk4936 You got this!
@@daredeflon662
Thanks!
@@privaterizk4936 It's not about your weight in absolute terms it's about your body composition, the leaner you are the harder it is to lose body fat.
How is your ideal weight 48Kg anyway? Are you 4'10" or just trying to die?
@@BigUriel
I know I have to learn more on that.
And yes, I'm 155 cm (5'1"?).
You see... based on my surroundings (people around me), my current weight is still counted as "plus" and need to be lessened, or I stay in that weight but grow some muscle.
One guy who built a home gym and ACTUALLY used it. Respect!!
I would if I was loaded
Facts!!!!
To lose that much weight especially at a older age is a amazing achievement.
Age to a certain degree, isn't overly relevant in regards to weight loss. If you able to exercise and control calorie intake, it's achievable.
Loosing a significant amount of weight requires consistent determination and discipline. Personally, I have tried it numerous times and failed since I became overweight. I have therefore decided to start nakedmadeawesome, a support group that will encourage me and other people to pursue this weight loss journey. I believe walking the journey together offers better motivation and accountability. Feel free to join us on both FB and Instagram @nakedmadeawesome
Wow. Amazing job.

He didn't do another diet, he changed his lifestyle. The best way to do it.
"Diet" means lifestyle actually. "Diet" does not mean "I do it 4 weeks".
You could not be more correct sir!
i dunno looks like he tossed the donuts and picked up chicken n salad. correct me if I'm wrong here.
No shit
Not the best way, it is the only way!
this is truly impressive and very motivating! No personal trainer. No boxed diet. no gimmicks. You did this through sheer will. I will be watching this video everyday while I am on my journey!
I’m on a journey to shrink too
Plotting and training in front of that graph line is a fantastic idea.
There are apps for that. The one I use for android is "Libra"
@@asmcriminaL Yes, but you don't look at you phone the whole time. This just hits you in the face, saying that you fat fuck can do it.
There are apps but what a great way to have it right in front you while you’re working out to give you that reminder and the extra push!!!

You lost around 20 years in age as well as the weight, genuinely incredible! Well done dude :) You look a lot happier.
You know what diet plan he used?
@@asilentvoice1380 No diet. Forget diet. Diets are temporary. This requires permanent lifestyle change. All others will fail. Oatmeal, chicken, beef, fish, rice, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, whey protein powder and so on are very good choices. When you exercise regularly (at least 3 times a week, preferably 5 times) you can also eat a lot. You can eat till your full always. With these diets you're hungry all the time because you're starving yourself. Thats why they always fail.
Gained 20 years. Not to be nitpicking. Lol
@@DnD_Adventures6966 well, he looks 20 years younger, he also gained around 20 years of life too

Low sugars, lots of water, lots of greens, lean proteins, some form of cardio vascular workout, and strength training daily. Anyone one can do this. There's no gimmick. No pill. No trick diet plan. Consistency, dedication, discipline. You all got it.
truly an inspiration!
actually it's zero sugars, very low carb, high healthy fats. Combine with intermittent fasting and you'll feel like a teenager again.
you are all right, BUT.. its easy to type... a hell to live and do it the long path

Good Luck and have a successful new year. I shed over 40 pounds a year ago and have kept it off! I only gave up 3 things - Beer, all Grains, and all Sugars. Meant giving up things like bread, cake, rice, pasta, soft drinks, fruit juice, etc. But it was worth it, my blood pressure is now normal without medication, and I no longer feel physically tired every time I do a bit of exercise.

Good work! I am down from 259lbs to 205 in 10 months know. You wont see results fast but once you do you will work even harder. Feels good when the people around you see the changes ans you motivate others to lose weight and get healthy. Its not about losing weight but changing an entire lifestyle! @0.z says the disrespectful fat lazy slob of a troll. 😅
It is disgraceful that women are given custody of children by default, when they are nearly always the responsible partner in a breakup/divorce. I'm really happy that you found your happy ending bro, and I hope that it gave you strength and endurance to face the challenges ahead as well.

You should consider bariatric surgery. I lost 80+ lbs 3 times in life but always regained it. Sometimes that's how life is. Try bariatric surgery it is something that seems to work for me.
Need any update brother keep grinding don't give up do body recomp instead of just going all out on cardio

Losing weight is never about losing the weight.
Losing weight is all about mindset. Get the right mindset and the weight melts away forever.
Congrats.
great work
If you dont eat snickers quickly it melts away forever......:'(
What do u mean with mindset??
@@TheBandiidoo
Mindset = The way you think about things.
You shouldn't be THINKING of losing weight. You should be THINKING about how JUNK FOOD destroy your health and the planet. You should be THINKING the positive benefits of exercise and whole food. You should be THINKING that exercise is NOT WORK, but PLEASURE to get some fresh air, enjoy the planet and it's scenery. Going for a walk is never about JUST WALKING to lose weight, walking is about having conversation with your partner, getting some fresh air, sweating to remove toxins from your body, meditating and reflecting, etc...
People who can't lose weight have attached NEGATIVE association to healthy eating and exercise (and as far as negative association to life itself). You will walk a million miles, through hell and back, to see/visit a love one. You will never do such thing for someone who you hate.
Do you give a shit/love about your body/temple or you don't?
Do you give a shit/love about your family and love ones or you don't?
Because if you do, then you look after it... If you don't, then you destroy it... The only difference is the mindset of whether you give a shit or you don't.
A positive and healthy mindset is never overweight. If you're overweight, you have a hidden psychological issue that needs to change. Our lives are merely a byproduct of what goes on inside our minds, whether you can accept it or not.
Jane Smith many thanks for your clarification, salute ✌️
“A person under conviction is the most powerful force in the universe”. This quote has resonated with me and now I live it!

Great job, awesome story. I love how you walked us through the timeline. You are an inspiration. In 2017 I weighed 240 lbs, even though I had been active all of my life. My BP was 150/110, cholesterol 248, was having warning signs of metabolic syndrome and stroke. I went to see a nutritionist and she gave me the tools to manage my caloric intake and control my portions. I went from 240 to 190 in 6 months and I have kept it off for 5 years. I never realized how lousy I felt until I stopped overeating and felt so much better right away. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. 👍👍💪💪

Dear Natalia, I appreciate your comment. Looking 20 years hardly matters if other limbs of the body don't work to prove its worth of 20 years age . 😊.🌷

You are a Great Inspiration!! Congratulations!!
Looks like the son of the man he was before losing weight
His graph looks like my latest stock investment.
Lmao

Haha I know right lol it looks more like my crypto portfolio
@@ibro2306 I actually wish my weight could drop like that.
I can relate. The one thing I realized was my impulsivity, and the mental tickle of clicking the mouse and buying a stock. Learned to wait wait wait for a compelling low price and reason to buy the stock. Rarely do you miss a stock that shoots to the moon, and the boat you just missed might just sink. So be patient. This is my most important investment lesson. About losing weight and putting on muscle, Its hard for this 68 year old to find a work out partner to help with the discipline and routine.
Mate that is incredible, smashed it, what a transformation. Gives me hope on my own journey, 19lbs down only another 41 to go. 45 years old now it's not been easy but determined now to change my life for my family.

Here's the best method for losing weight: HootFat.com
I think no one paid attention to the "mind transformation" he mentioned in the description. The fact alone that he liked himself way more, felt proud and competitive, makes all the effort worth it. Not to mention the body-drug called endorphines that is produced and makes you a lot happier when you are doing workouts and the real satisfaction you get from watching yourself evolve and become BETTER day-by-day.
ΑΙΕΝ ΑΡΙΣΤΕΥΕΙΝ thanks for pointing that out.
So true! And it was NOT by chance that put MIND before BODY in the title.

I was 6’3” 290 pounds on 1/2022, 233 pounds today 8/22. Probably got 30-40 more to go. Biggest realization is that 95% of the time I though I was hungry it was just boredom or stress. Cutting out stress, walking 4 miles a day, and cutting out most fried foods and anything high in oil/mayonnaise has got me where I am. 9 months for 57 pounds isn’t very aggressive but it’s a whole lifestyle change to be a healthy stress free person where weight loss happens to be the result. You can’t keep living like a fat person and exercise and also lose weight.
100lbs off and 50 years added to your life! Congratulations! Amazing effort. Keep the power going!
Thanks!
Wow your face changed so much

I need to do what you did man. But I'm coming from skinny coward, not fat coward.
My birthday is on July the 7th and I decided to workout until its July. Then I'll check what progress I'm gonna make. EDIT: I know nobody will see this, But 2 months ago I weighed 144.8 pounds and now I weight 132.4 Glad I saw all these journey videos of people working out.
Nice to hear, keep going!
I' m nobody and I saw your comment. . The secret is to belive. Nothing more. Just belive.
You are doing great! Keep going!
Woo! Congratulations. Keep going
Congrats man! Stay on the grind! 👍👍
I fought so many times to do this. I played football and baseball and even track and field throughout high school and college. My point is my weight did the same until now, I just wanna say great job and keep motivating! I happy to say I’m down from 387 to 338 lbs since March of 2019. I’m going to pushing for 265lb
You can do it! I believe in you :)
awesome job man :)
Mista B-Nice Keep at it brother!
Well, Gud luck keep updating.
Sports are cardio not resistance training. And if you only do cardio and want to lose weight it is a bad idea

yes, that would be 4 kg weight loss per month. that's ridiculous... You'd have to eat basically nothing throughout every day, a whole year through
@@vincemiller9914 When I joined the Army I dropped slightly over 50lbs in 4 months to enlist. I did pushups, situps and ran (or at the beginning a Jog that resembled walking) 2 miles a day. In an attempt at portion control I ate only 2 lean cuisine dinners a day (which was on average 600 calories or under total) and maybe a bag of light popcorn in the evening (about 300 calories) if I was really hungry. So generally, under 1000 calories a day. When I started I weighed 240lbs at 6ft tall. I weighed 186 at weigh in at MEPs 4 months after starting. Obviously that diet went out the window once I was in, but I PT'ed so damn much my weight stayed down regardless of what I ate. However when I got out of the Army I didn't exercise anymore but ate like I still was, so here I am, back where I started lol.
@@tsdobbi yeah, I did a mistake. I have mistaken weeks for months. I remember to lose a kg a week when I don't check my diet
Its crazy how much someone's face changes from losing all that weight. Barely recognisable! Looking great!!

It’s so much easier to just watch people lose weight.
I’ve tried sitting in the parking lot of the gym thinking just maybe it would work..... it doesn’t.... you have to go in...
@King nostalgia its inspiring and motivating at first, but if you don't act on it it quickly turns into the complete opposite.

Gary J Hannan .
Here I am after a whole year after seeing this video!
I was 115 kg in July 2018.... and now i'm at 82 in July 2019 ! Nearly 32 kgs that i've lost ( around 64 lbs). I don't know how to say thank you to for posting this video , and also thank you to those posting their results, comments and kuddos in the comment section..
Now time to flex a bit :)
You should post and link your own before and after vid
Yes it was purely and distinctly after this video that I decided to move on and start loosing weight.
And sadly I didn't have any "before" photo because I basicly thought i would not make it to this day, I thought I was going to surrender but I did not and i'm truly and fully happy today!
I'm trying to build muscles now , doing everyday some gym at home, the most difficult part is to get rid of that fat belly, trying hard each day!
Thank you again and again dear Mr. WhoMotivatedMe
You can see through the comment section my different comments and updates I wrote during this year that has past. :)
OMG, the moment when he starts talking I was impressed, then the video continued and I was completely blown away. I was like, there's not way he's gonna lose that double chin, and the results were amazing. Very inspirational for all of us who struggle with these conditions. Lifting is the key to losing weight! Great job young man, keep it up!
Total example of discipline, dedication and commitment. Congratulations Dude. Very inspiring. Big Thumbs Up!! 👍🏿

Im trying to lose weight in 4 months, except im only trying to lose 15 pounds, so i have plenty of time. Its only been 4 days and ive already lost a pound.
The hardest thing is to keep at it
I can't even lose 1 pound, craving says I must stuff my face with Cola and chocolate
@@valeria-militiamessalina5672 The basis is a decent diet, if you had to make it by yourself and eat the same things for a whole week, it would be extremely difficult. I bought my diet online as a subscription and got a varied menu with a nice android application and the option of changing meals. The first 2-3 weeks are tiring because you don't know the diet yet, so you stick to your diet, you weigh everything, you get to the first stagnation, you do not really believe in the success of this weight loss... It's easy to give up then. But then you even don't need the diet because you know what you can eat, you don't use the weight, you don't give a fuck about stagnation, and just calmly wait for results.
What you've done is amazing. I'm sure it wasn't easy. I'm in a weight loss journey myself. I don't talk much about my weight to anyone really and people who aren't over weight don't really understand it. My heaviest was 285 pounds I'm 5'7. I once lost 18 pounds and gained it right back. So far with what I've been doing has worked. I haven't gained any weight at all since I started. It'll be 6 months that I've been working on my health. Videos like yours are truly an inspiration
Thats hit me harder than any other weight loss video ive ever watched! ❤
