"Linger" is a song by the Irish rock band The Cranberries, released as the second single from their debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, in 1993. The lyrics of "Linger" are autobiographical, inspired by O'Riordan's first serious kiss.
The video is notable for its black-and-white aesthetic and features the band performing interspersed with images that evoke the song's themes of nostalgia and introspection. The song is characterized by its melodic and dreamy guitar work, as well as O'Riordan's distinctive, haunting vocals. The lyrics deal with themes of love, regret, and longing. It reflects on the feeling of holding onto memories and emotions related to a past relationship.
The song became a hit in several countries, including reaching the top 10 in Ireland and the top 20 in the United States. It remains one of The Cranberries' most iconic songs and has been covered by various artists. It has also been used in numerous films and TV shows, further cementing its place in popular culture. Along with "Dreams" and "Zombie," "Linger" is often considered one of The Cranberries' signature songs. Видеоклипы

Everything about Deloris was just so beautiful. 😢
This demo was her audition to become the lead singer of The Cramberries
Delores, passed away in 2018…great artist…loved their music
RIP DELORES!
This is one of their oldest tunes. They were playing it at least two years before they put out their first album in '93. R.I.P. Delores O'Riordan♥
Delores had the voice of an angel.
I remember being like 13 or 14 laying on my bedroom floor, going from this song, to Inin Kamoze, to Pearl Jam and Bone Thugs. 30 years later, they are all still good.
Beautiful song. So sad she passed away
Corey man… you have such a joyful face… right on. Love watching the three wise men…
Before I even listen. Rip Delores. Just the most lovely voice from my time.
I was just a toddler back in the 60's but this video gives me images of the 1960's .
That last shot in the video with Delores closing the door behind her...just hurts my heart every time. We lost her far too early.
I'm one of the weirdos who truly loves and appreciates the Film Noir aesthetic of this video #stunning
Ode to my Family or No Need to Argue should be one of your next ones by them.
This is THAT song for me. First heartbreak. Like you, I wasn't into this kind of music back then either but when I hear it I'm right back crying in 1994.
Rest In Peace Dolores.
Spot on Corey! The video was filmed in the genre of “film noir”. The older guy in the hat, flashlight and camera is a private detective hired by the girl to find out who her boyfriend is cheating with. It was one of the first songs the band completed after Delores joined, when they were just in their late teens. It's a tale of love, deceit and the lingering feelings of desire for an impossible relationship, an impossible situation, and an impossible partner who broke the contract of love.
I love her voice!!
long live the 90's
Another good song 🎵 👌
You have to do "Ode to My Family" Just stunning. Like Simon and Garfunkel, just storytelling at it's best.
Ode to My Family, if you REALLY want to hear some incredible singing and keening from Dolores.
RIP Delores
We miss you
🇮🇪🤝🇵🇸✊️💚🕊
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥miss you Dolores😞
I remember those days... Cranberries... absolutely brilliant! OMG! What a meteor across the sky they were!
Takes me back to spring ‘94 with my now husband, really happy memories. We’ve been together 30 years now and married for 18 😊
Such a gorgeous voice.
The Cranberries are a band that must be experienced live. Dolores was a giant. Their live performances are where it’s at. And there are some great concert footage of all their songs. Good hunting.
This was the first import cd I ever bought. Lots of great tracks on it. And then months later it was in heavy rotation. You could EASILY see someone today sampling a section of this gem and have it meander lightly in the background. Not so much like Dido's "Thank you" but y'now...
Also, I completely agree with what you said about the video. Back then videos were the biggest if not the main way to market a band. SO MANY bands I would feel sorry for because the vid just showed them in such a tight 'niche' and so many people would never look twice at bands like that.
Check out "ODE TO MY FAMILY". Dolores O' Riordan (pronounced o' rear dan) was so Amazing!! RIP Dolores.
Poor baby girl😢 oh way to soon, so many songs left unsung
Love this song, my favorite song of theirs is dreams. I think you will really like it.
The video was sweet. he concept was cooler than the other side of my pillow. I doubt that the video hurt the song. They were, after all, competing with artists such as Prince and Mariah Carey.
i miss her so much😭😭
Try “dreams” from the same album.
checkin in ... dreams is a very good upbeat song
You should check out Dolores'es solo albums she released while away from the band theyre amazing
🔥
I totally agree. Wrong video for this song.
Oh, Dolores………
☘️🇺🇲
😁🤟🏼
Please react to REM's Everybody Hurts.
Great debate, Cranberries had 2 "kinda laid back, softer" hits. This and "Dreams". The debate is, which one is better? I guess you got to do "Dreams" next.
We will check it out!
Is "Ode to my family" in that category?
@@znk0r Not IMO, those 2 songs were the big hits that fit my description, at least here in Canada
@@bastark6926 im in canada too, if you check Wikipedia Ode to my family and When you're gone both charted better than Dreams. They have so many good songs.
Mr Corey, were you a teacher before? You look so familiar.
agree, the video was depressing...always thought that...
Play champagne what about us
Good song, try Brian culbertson So Good.
She died in a hotel bathtub in London.
I like the song I did not like the video.
