I can’t lie, I heard both of them SO many times while editing this video but the Royel Otis cover was the one I started catching myself singing to. I’d hit play and instead of pausing to make an edit I’d just let it play a while longer so I could listen to it lol! It really is surprisingly phenomenal for how simple it is. I genuinely love it.
Tbf I’m not sure I saw myself doing a Cranberries video either lol! But I’m glad I did! It’s just a lovely song no matter how you slice it. My favorite part about doing these reaction videos is that through the editing process I get to hear the music a million more times and it’s a true test as to whether I really like it or not. It’s always nice when, rather than getting old and annoying, a song just makes me like it more.
The RUclips Algorithm dropped Royel Otis’ cover on me yesterday. I was letting auto-play run live performances in the background while I used my phone. When this one came on I had to put my phone down. His voice is so angelic. Watch their cover of Murder on the Dance Floor! Cheers
Cranberries' version came out while I was in college and in love for the first time. And it ended just the same way as the song, lol. It was definitely a theme song for a while.
Please do more videos like this, not only are you fuckin hilarious and had no idea this channel existed up until this video popped up. But its awesome to see the similarities and differences between music that are years and years apart. Anyway ya earned my sub, keep up the great content ❤
I completely agree with the voice not being a traditional powerful voice but GODDAM there is so much emotion in his tone and delivery. He sounds genuine like he is still finding his way through grieving with recent pain and is opening up to let the raw feelings out into the world.
The first three Cranberries' albums are great. My favourite is Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we, 1993, their debut album. For a debut album, it is very solid, with a very well defined 90s alt/indie rock sound. No Need to Argue, 1994, their second album, is a masterpiece of melancholic rock. To the faithful departed, 1996, is harsher and rugged.
i so badly want to hear you react to Radiohead. Specifically Hail To The Thief, but also In Rainbows, Kid A, and A Moon Shaped Pool, and even more specifically, Like Spinning Plates off of Amnesiac
I'd suggest to start with their 7th album "Something Else" (2017) which is entirely acoustic with strings arrangements. It includes all their 90's biggest hits and three new songs.
You should really check out a bit of Royel Otis! They're a young Sydney, Aus band. I've seen them at a few festivals now and shit man, his voice just does something to you.
@@dayanam.8639 I’m okay, I appreciate you asking! I really want to be doing more 😩. Long story short my wife and I moved recently and our new apartment situation has turned out to be an actual nightmare. When I start posting again depends on if we have to move again or if / when we get the situation resolved here and I can get my setup together again. I’m tired 🥲
The voice is just like…the feeling of laying on a trampoline as a kid, out of breath and looking up at the sky making shapes in the clouds
I can’t believe no one has replied to this
This is the realest thing ever bro
Life
That’s literally the gayest shit I ever read
I felt that in the deepest part of my soul
This song literally scratches my brain in a way I can't fully describe and don't understand.
His voice is the first bite of a sandwich when you’re fresh out of the pool. You know the feeling. Shouldn’t have to explain.
I ate pickles at the pool
@@ethanos__ can’t blame ya
You know its a vibe when only a childhood memory can explain the emotion
This is so accurate lmao
I could listed to this song (both versions) all day... and I have
Same, it’s so simple, has no complex in it, but that’s the magic of music haha
It's such a vibe ❤
Royel Otis cover has a chokehold on me

@@howtheturntables dude it’s so good! ever since I heard it I’ll be driving around and his version will randomly pop into my brain
their debut album is really really good. it’s so nostalgic and 90s. I am such a big cranberries fan lmao I never thought you’d react to them. nice!!

what a pleasant surprise! another cover of theirs for you to check out, “murder on the dancefloor” originally by sophie ellis-bextor
You’ve peaked my interest 🧐🧐
I completely agree with the voice not being a traditional powerful voice but GODDAM there is so much emotion in his tone and delivery. He sounds genuine like he is still finding his way through grieving with recent pain and is opening up to let the raw feelings out into the world.
Royel Otis has some pretty good songs of their own, I personally love "Fried Rice" and "Heading for the Door"
I adore those 2 songs as well but Sofa King is my current fave. Oh, and Foam and Oysters in my pocket and Til the morning lol
The cover is absolutely perfect !!!!!!!
Dreams, When You’re Gone, Ode to my Family, Daffodil Lament all great Cranberries songs that are probably closer to the vibes of this than Zombie.
Amazing commentary and the voice of Royel Otis is emotion packed extraordinary.
I would like to suggest Sofa King by Royel Otis, can’t stop playing it lol first new song I’ve loved like that in a long time 🤩
You should do '' Dreams '' next

you were built for youtube my bro, keep it up
Obsessed with his sweet little hand keeping time. He sounds great! Royel Otis is so good.
loved the reaction lol! i was wondering what microphone you are using?
@@lemonloaf Earthworks Ethos! Not only is it a great mic, it’s also build so solid that it would probably make a pretty good weapon too lol!
@@howtheturntables thank you so much!!!
The cranberries Dreams with Hayley Williams from paramores live cover is awesome!
Def make more videos. Love them!
The strings 🎻 🙌🏻
Perfect cover
Please, never stop making videos!

Royel Otis is my favourite band since summer 2022. They've got many good songs, why everyone is discussing only Linger or Murder on the dancefloor?
thats how it works
Oh yeah, Royel Otis is really good! I’d recommend Oysters on my pockets, Going Kokomo, Kool Aid, Sofa King.
Otis's voice does something (sexual) to me
The Cranberries first album is amazing start to finish. Definitely their best album without a doubt.
❤
The backup voices XD lit

@how the turntables Royel Otis Favorites - Sofa King, Fried Rice, Kool Aid, Murder on the Dance Floor (Cover), Razor Teeth, Oysters in My Pocket, Foam
your butter comment is so real
I like the original a lot, I also like the cover, though not as much. I can't get the image out of my mind that Kevin and Perry made a single.
ok emo pewdiepie, you’ve earned my sub
you should listen to Chappell Roan's album, i think you're going to like it
Cranberries legendary
Ive always preferred Linger and Dreams to Zombie
The lyrics to Linger are heartbreaking.
this cover is hard not to love lol
can you please react to noah kahan
Please do folklore by taylor swift you would love it. Its like reading a book but your listening to music so good

Ay bro you funny
Hello..plz react Cranberries - Promise .. Thanks
React to BRAT by Charli xcx
Countinue with taylor swift albums
Sorry, Dolores is unbeatable on this one. Homeboy has a good voice but it came across as more thin than vulnerable like hers was.
