I live in the area, and I go to church at the magnificent old Polish Catholic church St. Florian. You occasionally see around town a Muslim woman, covered head to toe in a black burqa, walking about 3 steps behind her husband. And this is American liberals' favorite religion, since about September 12, 2001.
This town in Michigan is at the beginning of a long "battle" against such groups. The passing of such laws, encouraging killing of animals in homes, yards etc. is just the beginning. This sacrificing of goats unhygienically inside building compounds, in housing societies where Muslim numbers increase has been happening in Indian urban centres for some years now. The other residents of the building societies, who are vegetarians or cannot see the sight of severed animals in the compound with the blood flowing into gutters, cannot protest if Muslim numbers are more. Most people choose to pack up, sell their flats and leave. The flats then end up being sold to Muslims, who given their numbers continue with such practices with even more zeal. This has been reported unofficially in parts of Mumbai, for example. The national and local media does not pick up such stories, because it will cause an outrage and calls of Islamophobia. So, the number of such accounts are never publicly discussed. Such egregious acts have led to Hindus, Jains and other communities who do not eat meat and cannot understand why someone has to kill animals in front of children and others within housing societies in the open, deciding they would not allow Muslim tenants into their societies or to purchase flats, in many areas. I worked in Manchester UK over a decade ago and it was not unusual to find bits of animal carcasses in the alleys and communal bins around certain areas. This town in Michigan is at the beginning of a long "battle" against such groups. The passing of such laws, encouraging killing of animals in homes, yards etc. is just the beginning.
This sacrificing of goats unhygienically inside building compounds, in housing societies where Muslim numbers increase has been happening in Indian urban centres for some years now. The other residents of the building societies, who are vegetarians or cannot see the sight of severed animals in the compound with the blood flowing into gutters, cannot protest if Muslim numbers are more. Most people choose to pack up, sell their flats and leave. The flats then end up being sold to Muslims, who given their numbers continue with such practices with even more zeal.
This has been reported unofficially in parts of Mumbai, for example. The national and local media does not pick up such stories, because it will cause an outrage and calls of Islamophobia. So, the number of such accounts are never publicly discussed.
Such egregious acts have led to Hindus, Jains and other communities who do not eat meat and cannot understand why someone has to kill animals in front of children and others within housing societies in the open, deciding they would not allow Muslim tenants into their societies or to purchase flats, in many areas.
It may sound unfair, but imagine the plight of these people who get home loans with great difficulty, spend on renovating a flat to call it a home, only to end up being forced to leave it because of such anti-social groups. They have to restart the process of finding another flat within easy distance of their children's school, office etc. If anyone has an idea of the housing crises and prices of rentals and real estate in Mumbai, you will appreciate their problems.
Such acts by Muslims end up alienating communities and on top of that it is the Hindus that get a bad name when they try to resist such acts. You will get to read many articles in the Washington Post, the NYT and other foreign media and channels about Hindutva, tarring Hindus, while being quiet about the culprits.
