Even though this is no where close to the final battle, as a kid, this seemed to be the culmination of my entire playthrough to this point; we saw Maleficent as early as Wonderland, and heard about her from the Final Fantasy crew.
Omg same. The moment the crew arrived at Hollow Bastion, I was like "Only Maleficent left and Riku will finally be free, the final battle is coming!"
And In true final fantasy fashion the real villain/final boss gets revealed after her defeat
KH1 had the most climactic fights, they could do whatever effects they wanted on KH3, it couldn't match lines such as "You think you can defeat me? Me, the mistress of all evil?". Really got me crazy as a kid and made the challenge feel real !
The atmosphere of KH1 was fantastic.

And I know right? Made me feel the same way when I was a kid playing this back in the early 2000’s. (I’m 30 now)
Even as a grown up, I felt the same way back then. Maleficent is one of the most challenging foes and one of my favorite Disney villains of all time.
Just replayed KH1 again and this line is still iconic followed by the music.
Love how they used that quote from Sleeping Beauty! When Maleficent originally said it to the fairies
The unlocking of the heart of Maleficent- and her going from terrified, to concerned, to curious, to excited- is one of the scariest (and most interesting) things in video games, all time

To be honest, I like how Maleficent's voice actress quoted her original V.A. from Sleeping Beauty with that taunt about thinking Sora, Donald, and Goofy, like the Three Good Fairies, thought that they could defeat her, the Mistress of All Evil. Same in Birth By Sleep when she takes on her dragon form to fight Prince Phillip and Aqua.
For some reason I always wished They made a Game that Focused on the Disney Villains, Play as Maleficent, and play from their perspective, Like Xehanort meeting Maleficent, Maleficent gathering the other Villains, i think it would be cool.
there was gonna be a disney fighting game where u play as disney heroes and villains but disney didnt like it so they did ff dissidia instead
Mason Perry playing as villains would definitely be cool(villains are the often the coolest characters in disney movies (in my opinion).

It's more....Riku was jealous of Sora. And that jealousy led to the darkness in his heart, and his blind alliance with Maleficent.

Well, there really isn't much room for her to move. And the fight is hard enough as it is anyway.
She does try to whack you with her staff. Don't know why she doesn't do that in this video.

This fight took me literally 30 minutes from start to end on Proud mode. My attacks didn’t do shit.
Amazing voice acting + amazing battle music + amazing gameplay. So rare and we were so lucky to get this growing up!

The smart thing to do is when he meteors are coming go right next or behind the black area where the meteors are. I tried that and I beat this boss fight every time

That was the original idea behind Dissidia.
Um... Dissidia Final Fantasy? It has only Final Fantasy characters. There were no Disney characters. At least not that I know of. I would like to see how Ariel plays in a fighting game.
I know that but the creators of Dissidia originally wanted it to be a Disney fighting game but Disney put the kibosh on that idea.

I breezed through all the bosses except Trickmaster, Giant Ursula, Maleficent Dragon and the last 2 Ansem fights.
Gamer tip: you can use gravity to drop the stone platform she’s on.

You can try all your might to defected Sora, Donald and Goofy Maleficent but there light pure hearts of friendship and heroism will never be defeated because the darkness never trailed over the light the light trailed over the darkness all the time and evil dies and good will rule as always in freedom and peace as always right guys!

Except there aren't that much trinities, and Beast sweeps the Heartless.
i didn't use him either because I thought if you had him in then whoever wasn't in the party wouldn't get experience
I had to switch him out for a trinity and I couldnt go all the way back to the library to get him again

What Would Leela And Amy From Futurama Say?
The platform was a great idea, but not well executed. She should have stayed out of reach most of the time, with low HP and incredibly difficult to reach, while exposing the player to her attacks much more often.
Then all the meteor and dark storm spectacles would have felt more epic and appreciated.
Whacking her multiple times at close combat without any repercussions felt just wrong.

We're getting Kingdom Hearts III on Xbox. I had a Ps2 with Kingdom Hearts I and II and later bought a 360 because Halo stopped being on PC.

The first game just seemed a bit more sinister. After that it got more and more cheesy. Fricken sora stabbed himself essentially committing suicide! When KH3 came out and playing it as an adult the dialogue was cringe not gona lie lol the first one will always be the best even with the horrible camera lol made things harder
