Sounds like an explanation of why we pronounce Uyea (an island) ("Oi-ya") and Uyea (a place) ("Yoo-ee-soond) differently in Shetland! So I think I could write them in Faroese as Ííoy (although we would pronounce it "Íía") and just Ý. Which is actually a lot easier as you can now distinguish between the 2 different sounds.
Hi! The word is seinna and it means kinda “late” or “after”. There is two descriptor words for letters: “fyrra” which means before, or previous, and “seinna” meaning after or later. A is “fyrra A”, I is “fyrra I”, Í is “fyrra Í”. Y is “seinna Y”, Ý is “seinna Ý”, and Æ is “seinna Æ”. We use these to distinguish between a and æ, between i and y, and between í and ý. They are similar in pronunciation, but æ, y, and ý were added to the Faroese alphabet later, which is why they have these names.

Deleted: C, Q, W, X, Z
These weren’t deleted! We do not have these letters, only in very rare foreign names
Letters forgotten:
C Q W X Z
I think there is no c in Faroe
Those letters are not forgotten: they do NOT exist in the Faroese language.
We do not use these letters in Faroese 🫶🏼 only in foreign names!
They arent in the language
You forgot É
Icelandic has the letter "É". but Faroese doesn't have "É"
Ú=ew
