As a Seattle native and a Seahawks fan I have a core memory of my mom walking out the house and leaving for about 3 Hours after that pick . School was so weird the next day, teachers didn’t have the same energy and everyone was super down 💔
As a football fan, not from Washington but living there, I never get tired of watching that pick. The Seahawks were way too cocky. Even with New England winning it, I think most fans liked seeing them lose.

Furthermore, though, I don't think "just block out the ads" is good enough. It's worth interrogating when a company that presents themselves as something vital while actually harboring sinister motives suddenly begins shelling out huge amounts of money to as many creators as they can manage. The creators themselves at least deserve to know who they're dealing with. If Karsten keeps taking BetterHelp's money after being informed of their real business model, then that's his choice. Just like it's the choice of his viewers whether or not to unsubscribe if he does so.

I had to attend court ordered therapy and I tried to use better help because it was online and cheaper. Well better help specifically doesn't cover the requirements of actually therapy. So yeah it's more just like a life coach and not real therapy

In fairness, that 6 game stretch in 2014, Seattle faced Drew Stanton, Ryan Lindley, Mark Sanchez, Shaun Hill, and Kaepernick.....so pure dominance was the only acceptable performance lol
Kaepernick was one of the better QBs in the league at the time though tbf.

I live in Alaska so we have no NFL team obviously. But I remember so many Seahawks jerseys from 2013-2016 up here.

@@putthefuinfun1947 It's one thing to take money from an audio company, or a merch auctioneer, or even a sportsbook. (Even if you think that last one is a major problem, you need to start with the leagues and TV partners.) It's an entirely other thing to take money from a data mine pretending to be a supplier of mental health support services. This kind of sponsor could have major, direct impacts on the very lives and security of your audience.
If he didn't know before, so be it. Now he does. It's up to him how to treat that knowledge. If he runs them again and loses a bunch of subs and views, then we'll see whether it's worth whatever they're paying him.
A channel of his size has options when it comes to sponsorship. Just because a company is offering the biggest bag doesn't mean you have to take it.

It also sucks how the defense regressed after 2017. There were games where statistically we had one of the worst defenses in the league, which made it painful to watch. Hopefully things will change with Mike MacDonald as HC.
The Legion of Boom as we know it was really 2011 or 12 to 2016.
In 2017, we didn’t play that great defensively, and while 2018-2020 were consistent playoff teams, I don’t think we were thought of as one of the best teams in the league (and by that point, Urinatingtree’s claim that the Seahawks had become the Steelers of the NFC made sense).

- Kept their Head coach past his expiration date and surrounded himself with terrible yes men? Check
- Had a QB who caused drama in the locker room? Check
- Had an amazing defense that feel to shit (In Pit's case at least they were able to turn that around)? Check
- Relied on high end talent to save them from coaching fuck ups in the forms of their QB's (Geno and Russ have both been leading a stupid amount of comebacks in their times in Seattle)? Check
- Haven't made it past the second round in years? Check
- Allow players to be undisciplined, causing issue in penalties? Check
- Poor clock management and throw stupid challenges? Check
YEP. I'd say he was right on the nose for that one. other things that Seattle struggled with was Trading for big players, Retaining mid level players more than their markets worth, and Trading back in the first round for so many years allowing other teams to get studs while SEA ended up with bust's.
That’s also around the time all the rule changes to favor the offense got out of control.

I remember watching the 2014 NFC championship with my cousins we went to go get pizza when the Packers were up 12 10:03 and me and my cousin we’re about to walk to the front door and he says and I quote “ watch when we go inside the Seahawks are gonna be celebrating going to the Super Bowl” and I kid you not when we walked inside the Seahawks just took the lead
Just so you know that my dad and I are big time believers in christ and we kept on pushing in, pushing in, and pushing in to rig that game naturally for our beloved seahawks!! 😪😂💯 I missed those times bro. I seriously want to rewind back in time to try and fly out to arizona as an underage sixteen year old to forcefully tell russ and pete to run the damn ball in that time frame in arizona.
I went for pizza during Superbowl 49 and I just remember the sound of pure shock during that interception from everyone in the building. Was my first real exposure to football too.

I don't blame you. But would you believe a lot of Seahawks fans are Packers fans? The entire city put away their Seahawk stuff for 2 weeks after the Fail Mary. For real; I lived in downtown, had a long commute to work, and took long walks. No hats, scarves, jackets, bumper stickers (the magnet kind), etc. Many of us don't claim that win.

From what I remember Lynch was not a great goaline running back, and he fumbled at the goaline against the 49ers the season prior nearly costing the Seahawks a trip to the Super Bowl. Patriots also had a defense that was mean to stop the run also.
Lynch had very little success converting on short yardage plays IN THAT Superbowl. The narrative would've been "you knew he struggled against that defense, why didn't you pass?"

One detail I love, that I doubt many would know. The reason Pete Carrol felt comfortable running that fake FG with Jon Ryan as opposed to Russell Wilson (who would routinely hold on kicks) is that Jon Ryan was a High School QB in Saskatchewan, Canada.

I'm surprised you didn't mention that five pick game Wilson had against the Packers in 2016. A lot of them weren't his fault because they kept bouncing out of the receivers' hands. But they also missed Earl Thomas because Aaron Rodgers torched them.
In Pete’s defense he probably only thought worst case scenario Russel throws an incomplete pass and then they run the ball right after.

As a Hawks fan, I appreciate how you outlined the multiple factors of the team’s decline outside of just the goal line INT (although that was undoubtedly a major factor with a large ripple effect). Since then it seemed like they tried using the same formula every year with diminishing returns. While I’ll miss Pete and appreciate all he did for us, I’m optimistic about Mike MacDonald and what this new era will bring. Great work on this series and would love to see more content like this on other notable teams’ rise/fall stories👏

They also don't screen therapists, and criminally underpay them as well. It actually makes it dangerous to use, given the complicated nature of mental health.
It would be a big ask but a 2-part rise and fall/rebuild for every team would be amazing. Not only could you do this type of series with NFL teams but with specific players and even college programs too. I’m sure these are time consuming videos but they are incredibly and I hope you keep making them.

As a 49ers fan, this is music to my ears😈😈😈 *On a real note, football was better when both squads were absolutely elite. At one point it wasn’t a question of IF but WHEN the niners and Seahawks would play a third game every season.

As a new and young Rams fan, watching the 2010s Seahawks was notorious and the most depressing team. That interception in front of Tom Brady and the Whole Country, they stabbed themselves and never recovered. The Seahawks now need a massive change to be competitive again. I wish you all Seahawks fans the best luck and fight on being first in NFC West 🫡
To be honest, it took me a while to want to watch this video since it was 37 minutes long; but once I finally clicked on it, I enjoyed it. I don't have time to watch the follow-up video right now, but I will eventually. I would say stick to your shorter videos, but adding a longer one like this once in a while is okay. Your true followers will appreciate them no matter what.
As a Patriots fan, I thought that Kearse catch was David Tyree/Mario Manningham all over again. Thank God Butler recognized the same play he'd seen in practice. Also, Lynch wasn't a "guarantee" had they just handed the ball off. Pats owned Seattle on draw plays that game.
I had gone to the Seahawks vs Giants game in Seattle that year in 2014. Was sitting pretty close to the goal line, and a couple times Lynch tried to get in from about the one, and he was stopped. I think it could've gone either way but we also had two downs, and a Timeout left during that play. I feel like it was rushed
@@jacoblarson4420 It was rushed, but I also think gambling on a play-action pass made a lot of sense with everyone anticipating a run play.. In fact, Indy was heavily criticized for letting Edgerrin James turn the ball over on downs in 04 (same scenario).
