- Hi everyone! Wig video #5 will show you how to straighten a heat resistant synthetic wig using the hot water method. If you are unsure if your wig is heat resistant, PLEASE do a heat test first so that you don't melt and ruin your wig! If your wig IS heat resistant, you can also straighten it with a hair straightener, but I find this method so much faster and easier. I hope it helps ya! Links & discount codes below!

do the same method, but wrap strands of hair around large straws (like bubble tea straws) if you want big curls, and then pin the hair to the straw on both ends, then pour the hot water over it!

We followed this video when straightening 2 of our cosplay wigs, they both turned out great! I love this video and the method actually works! Much better than using a straightener

could you do a video about the reverse? i have a curled wig that needs to be straight for my cosplay but i want the curls back after that ^^
Maybe once you've straightened it and want it curled again, repeat the process of saturating it in hot water but then put curlers in it while it is drying. :)

Thank you so much!! I was looking for a quick easy way to take some of the curl out of a wig a bought online. If I SPRAY it with hot water the curls will loosen up more slowly, right? I can control the looseness that way?

I'm loving all your wig tutorials, it's very helpful since I do wear wigs. I do have one question. I have a wig that I'm going to be using for a future cosplay, but I need to trim the bangs. I'm always terrified to cut it myself since I'm afraid it will be trimmed too short or it just wont look right. I dunno if you've already explained this or not but... What is a good method to trimming a wig? Thank you for your time! :)
another way to do basically the hot water method is to use a handheld steamer and a brush. you brush out the wig then when it's not tangly you take the brush and run it true and as you're running the brush through it you take a hand-held steamer and follow it right up against the wig and it should come up straighter. I like to brush my tongue out immediately after and it makes it nice and easy to brush out.

You mentioned taking apart the peppermint wig to make a custom wig. When would you be putting that into a video cause I really need to know to make my wig but I can't seem to find articles or videos that I can follow along with and not get lost. Your wig series and a couple of others are the few I don't get lost when watching but none have mentioned putting new wefts in a wig.
Please make a video so I can make my idea a reality. I'd love to share with everyone and really put what I've learned from you to the test.

Hey! Im still having troubles straightening on of my wigs. Its a short hair wig thats mostly straight except the very ends curl inwards. That slight curl wont come out but the slight curl vs straight would make a world of difference lol
