I've wanted one since they debuted back in 87, but $4000 was steep back then, about $12K in today's money. The 88 jumped up to $4500, but many were still on the showroom floors until mid-89 as the price increase tanked their sales. Honda discontinued the V4 after that for several years. I recently finally purchased one, and it's a real gem. I love that sound!
I know that machine my father's friend has a magna very fast very fast. Absolutely love everything about that motorcycle. Great engineering right there. Awesome video! Ken Kaplan great video! Ronnie New England motorcycle museum number one what a collection of motorcycles that gentleman had. Absolutely gorgeous!
That is one sick and beautiful bike. The candy apple red paint job is stunning. I love how the exhaust pipes are turned up, and also love those mag wheels. The rear mag wheel looks just like a mag wheel from a Harley Davidson FatBoy. Definitely a headturner!
Well actually, it’s a solid “looking” rear wheel. Note that these were manufactured in the USA! This one is the best example I've ever seen. The only criticism is it's missing the rear shock chrome cover cap. It's truly an amazing Super Magna!
Ive got the 88 Supermagna. Lovely bike revs to 10,000 rpm and is surprisingly quick. Mine was made in Ohio and is in very good condition but this one of yours is a peach.
OHHH My Goodness I can only imagine what that looks like in person because on camera that is the sweetest Magna I have ever seen it's just beautiful those are nice cruisers for around town that is definitely a panty dropper just stunning💪🏻💪🏻💚👍🏻👍🏻🌎🤟🏻🤟🏻🇺🇲✌🏼
Another great video as always.... I have always been a fan of the big Honda V4 engines as I have owned a VF1000R Interceptor and two V65 Magnas.. I Love the look of this super Magna with the four pipes and the solid rear wheel but was always disappointed they did not make one in 1100 cc which would have made it even more super. 😁
They did actually, 1983-1986, it's called the VF1100C with the V65, otherwise throughout the years, it could've been had with everything from a 250cc V2 through a 750cc V45 lol. Edit: unless you were specifically talking about the "Super" Magna, then yes, you're correct, only the 750cc V4 in those, otherwise you needed the Magna(which they were all called, this one isn't even called a "Super Magna", just Magna, the "super" was a nickname)
Loving your life style . If there ever was a dream job.... this would be it. Let me know if you need a painter or body man...including old school fiberglass man.
I love it very nice bike, for cruising, when Honda tríed to make a Bike look like a good old KZ 1000 LTD 😉. Honda makes good bikes the VF Custom is another example.
This is THE Magna to have out of all of them. It rides soooo nice!

RIGHT, I see it now, thats why it sounds like my 1998 VFR800, GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Never ever seen one in Australia, very unique & tough looking cruiser for sure.

Honda put a lot of nice features on these bikes, like hyd clutch, 85 HP, an amazing shaft drive that is seamless, and a 6 speed.
Back then, 35 years ago I never ever thought I would like this choperesque Honda, but I do now, Iwould ride it, it looks cools to me now!!!

Oh and hydraulic clutch and front brake were pretty exotic back then.
I have a black one with same mileage. It's in a very good shape. It runs beautifully!

@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 I think you missed my point
@@propdoctor21564 clearly, because you stated you with Honda would've made one with the 1100cc V4, and they did 🙄
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 I Said that I wish they made this super magna model with the 1100 cc motor...
I have owned two V65 Magna both 1986 models.

This is nothing compared to the first 1100s.

Is that a drum brake on the rear? That's unusual for 1988.
