I agree but not having watched the game, why did Ottawa give up that many shots? I would think they would have tightened up to help out the debuting goalie. Hopefully he develops into a strong netminder

During the 90s lmao they called the colosseum the mausoleum because of how bad they were, the ziggy palfy era that dude was sick. He also knew a couple of the ushers and would always get us better seats. Those 90s and early 2000s islanders games were some of the dopest, i also got to see Hasek play when he was on Buffalo in 99, one game buffalo didnt even start him and he was at onepoint standing somewhere near the crowd next to two european chicks just signing autographs for whoever. I like the islanders and buffalo was my second, i rooted hard for them in 99 when they made the playoffs. The Rangers i was never a fan of but the garden is probably the best place to see a game the old one specifically had a vibe to it, the new one i havent been to alot but its still good. They also tore down the OG yankee stadium, alot of people are still pissed about that.

I'm a LEAFS fan, living in Ottawa, and even I was pulling for the dude to get a HUGE WIN. They only 7 points back of Washington now with 3 games in hand, so ya never know....would be cool to see both Ontario teams in the playoffs, and LAST TIME the LEAFS won a playoff round it was against Ottawa WAY BACK in 2004.

As an islanders fan I could see this coming. We have some ridiculous thing where we’ve lost like 4 or 5 straight games in which the other teams goalie is making their NHL debut. It’s insane. Dude played amazing that game tho l, I mean he must’ve cuz it’s been like a month and i remembered it instantly when I saw the thumbnail

It's all good, I just thought it was funny. But regarding the quality of chances, there were plenty of high quality scoring chances and shots. I remember when Manny Legace first came up with the Kings in '98. Stephane Fiset and Jamie Storr had both gotten injured so Manny got kind of thrown in at the deep end. The thing is, Manny is kind of short, only 5' 9", and whenever they tried to go top shelf on him he would actually jump, kind of a bunny hop. It looked funny as hell but Manny probably didn't think it was funny.
