Patrick the old timers with those lovely GE engines what a sweet sound in our ears from yesteryear, especially the World Airlines DC10. It like the 1970's all over again. The DC8's are legendary from so many millions of miles around the world still love them. Feel like a child on the observation deck up top of Pearson Toronto International in the 1960's and the 70's. Patrick have great weekend catch you on the next flight.
Great video! Love watching the rudder flap back and forth as they apply power. Also note the break dust off of the main landing gear when they select "gear-up" after take-off and the brakes automatically apply to stop wheel rotation.
i've flown on both of these clunkers, although my flights on dc-8s were on the "stretch" version. i didn't realise oostende would have such an active airport.
THANKS for your appreciation, as mentioned 2001 footage , of course analog tape recordings, original 4/3 format resized 16/9, highest resolution possible , Sony VIDEOCAMERA equipment , DCR-TRV345E : Digital 8 TAPE , Super Steady shot , 20 OPTICAL zoom as well as another Sony Digital 8 , 25 OPTICAL zoom , Super Steady Shot DCR-...., just this i have some 9 videocameras , starting with Canon 8 mm and finally a 4K Sony videocamera , best regards
These were the times when Pilots were still in command of the Airplanes !! Airplanes were much bigger then 2days !! This was a better time then what's going on 2day in the World !! It's getting pretty Bad out there and this is just the beginning !! 😮😮
@@ProjectNemesis92 i've flown on both the dc-10 and the dc-8 stretch, as well as numerous times on the dc-9. i view macdonell-douglas stuff as junk but i'm still glad i flew on them.
The DC-10 is not worth remembering, its poor design was responsible for what was the worst air disaster as of that time just outside Paris in the early 70s (Turkish Airlines at Orly). It was the Boeing Max of the 70s. It ended it's career with a piece falling off on another Paris runway causing the Concorde crash.
What a rubbish comment! You know nothing about the DC10, all you remember is this accident and a poor maintenance fact. I flew this fantastic bird as a former flight engineer and I can say I always felt completely safe and I loved her reliability among other few things you're not able to understand obviously! Thank you so much Douglas and Mc Donnell Douglas for these two babies I loved fly.

Flying take off by the DC-8 there.Lovely!
Damn, you got my number! 12 years on the DC-8 , all 3 seats & 1 year as a Captain on the DC-10 at EWA. Thanks for this.😎
Wow. Great memories and an awesome video. DC8. DC10. Two Douglas classics.
Fill my ears with pretty noises why don't ya! Awesome video!

Beautiful aircraft and powerful, such a shame that they are no longer used.
Old timers smokers never die in my memory👍👍
Fantastic video mate
I still say the DC-10s & L1011s are the most beautiful aircraft to ever take to the skies.
as for giant tri-holers yes , 727 and 154 in their category , i always prefered 4 engined classic jets though 🙃
I love 3 an 4 engined planes. Always felt safer! Felt there were plenty of options!
Amazing
Amo o DC-10-30 ❤❤❤❤
Liiiinnnndoooo!!!!

DC-8's continued until 2010 , loved it !
Patrick, can you comment on what video equipment these were recorded with? Thanks for a magnificent show of aviation history.

Dc10 very fast take off!
rolling take offs , short flight to Manston or London Gatwick : DAS AIR and MK
🤩🤩👍👌🍾🥃
Those DC8s liked a drop of fuel that’s for sure.
💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
'Das Luft Cargo'
man, those old dc-8 engines certainly were not efficient at burning the kerosene..
Look up a video of a B52 it has 8 of them 😂
@@ProjectNemesis92 oh i didn't realise the b52 used the same kind of engines. b52 kind of arranges them in 4 sets of 2, doesn't it?

Isso não Quer Dizer que o DC-10-30 Não Seje Mais Lembrado
É triste o que Aconteceu Mais o DC-10-30 Tem História ❤
