4:09 Wow, never have I seen an IL-76 do a rolling takeoff before, and the takeoff was pretty quick, too! All other 76's I've seen do standing takeoffs, where power is applied, then the brakes are released. 15:07 Hmmm, no reverse; I guess they probably didn't need one for that landing, but IDK... 16:24 Speaking of reversers, what's up with no.4; it's like he changed his mind mid-way lol Your captures get more and more interesting the further I dig myself into them, and I love it! :D
thanks , i had my fair share of surprises , never a dull moment at the time :) , rolling76 take offs were very rare indeed , witnessed this only a very few times , miss the sounds of classic stuff nowadays , those were the days !
:) as it should be , btw those are Soloviov engines , just in case this means " nightingale " in Russian, very appropriate , sound is in the ears of the beholder ;)
Als klein manneke (ben van 93) die periode meegemaakt. Mijn ouders gingen dan met mij naar de luchthaven gaan eten zodat ik de vliegtuigen kon zien als we naar zee gingen :D
correct , a Mil 26 joined the apron as well , somewhat later , both were finally removed , projected destination back to Russia , status not known , the 26's were last seen in the harbour section of Bruges ( Belgium ) , some 3 were stored , engines and avionics removed
3 turbocompressors mounted on top of the engine nacelles, air for pressurization/airconditioning system , as such, any engine oil leakage would not find its way into the cabin
Hi.sir
I from Iran
1word:amazing &beauty
Best wishes for you (patrick)
Great video! Excellent spot for spotting!
no longer available , perimeter fence has been extended further from the runway many years ago , a favorite spot once , close ups opportunity
brilliant videos, thanks for sharing nostalgia, brilliant
Patrick!
WOW and thank you very much!!
Notning realy nothing comes close to this Airliners!
1999-2001 busiest years , veteran stuff
That was incredible. Truly enjoyed this.

Geweldige video!! Wat een genot om naar de kijken en luisteren!!
welkom , was mijn tweede thuis ;)
Those Il-76 engines sound like a rocket being launched, when it passes just in front of the camera.

At lower rpm, the JT3C turbojet comes to mind.
Yes you are right. They have rockets type engine.
Nice handbrake turn by the Air Memphis 707 onto the runway, then throttles wide open 🏃♂️ . He wasn't wasting any time
love rolling take offs , 707freighters , no limits😀
Absolutely fantastic video!!
thanks for your appreciation , welcome !
Thanks for uploading this lovely video Patrick, so we can enjoy again this era :-)
thanks Wim , a time warp into the past , times of glorious sound as well as beautiful designs
Very good Video
Famoso avión

Engine smoke and a little bit of brake dust on takeoffs! 😄👍🛫
Great video! Makes you wonder why people even dare to complain about noise nowadays ;-)
Saudades Desse tempo ❤
Awesome video. Do all the old plane fly there often?
at the time it did , busiest place in Europe for veteran classic design , mainly until 2002 , 2010 last DC-8 flights
Getting every last cycle out of these old workhorses!
simply the very best , the real stuff, no FBW , veterans , music to my ears
33 years ago there was a Mil Mi-10 Harke Russian aerial crane helicopter parked at the Ostend graveyard plot...
correct , a Mil 26 joined the apron as well , somewhat later , both were finally removed , projected destination back to Russia , status not known , the 26's were last seen in the harbour section of Bruges ( Belgium ) , some 3 were stored , engines and avionics removed
Ostend must be very empty and quiet now with all the glorious oldies gone.
indeed , however some nice surprises over the years , but mostly very peaceful now , only regulars Qatar 777 and Egyptair 330
Why always engine No 4 on B707s is different from engines 1, 2, and 3?
3 turbocompressors mounted on top of the engine nacelles, air for pressurization/airconditioning system , as such, any engine oil leakage would not find its way into the cabin
