HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 окт 2017
- Dave Hopla has been training shooters for years. We caught up with him at USA Basketball Camp to figure out how he has turned so many players into GREATS! Hopla was mainly working with Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson on their forms and also dished on Steph Curry and how Lonzo Ball's shot translates in the NBA. Hopla talks drills and gives you the secrets to being a great shooter.
BTW, Hopla is also an amazing shooter. DUDE DOESN'T MISS!

ben is too full of himself to want help i remember when he turned down kobe’s help smh
vDieLit ur fr bro i would accept as soon as read kobe’s name
Ben simmons will negate his shooting skills/knowledge.
Giannis! This is your key to more greatness.
Baller Shot Caller he doesn’t need to do anything like KD when no one in the league can barely stop him from getting the paint.
Baller Shot Caller Bro what? He just needs to learn to shoot lmao
He got exposed in the playoffs by the Raptors. He's not as great as people make him out to be, even in the paint.
@@dylanbrown5474 Hahaha you really knows nothing, being exposed doesn't mean he will be useless, he just needs to be better, change his playstyle a little, every star player are exposed, they just need to be better in the next season, too much youtube 😂😂😂
Giannis needs to do a dirk nail iso post up to mix things up.
Simmons need watch this.
Lmao
@@prokinnetforce88191 Yea cause his jumper is cheeks

I remember seeing this guy at a Knicks camp unreal so accurate, the tips he gave back then still stay true till right now. And also taught how to get out of shooting slumps
Garvin Joseph how
Mruso2 look up his videos
Markelle Fultz: how long would it take to get back to my college days
Coach: yes
The #1 tip is consistency and repetition training wise, you can have the worst form in the world, but if you can hit shots with it and practice with consistently you will become a great shooter! (Of course there is a higher risk of making mistakes with a bad form, just saying consistency is 🔑!).
Omfggggg!!!! He actually fixedy shot.....STRAIGHT ELBOWS! OMGGGGF!!! Time to train my new elbow form and add it to my game! Tysm Coach Dave!!!
Dave Hopla: I shot 17 corner threes in a row and broke steve nashe's record

Most rebounds are defensive ones
kwwyy Fr, whats this mans on
it should opponents bigman
He must be taking all those plush toys at the carnivals... even the rigged ones.
Even the rigged ones LOOOOOOL
Hehe
If you know you know
You know he’s legit if he makes that sound every time and the ball spirals really fast
Ayo who saw him say he was impressed with wisemans shooting? This vid was in 2017 and now he’s a top pick in the draft
Yeah I saw that
teach me how to shoot like shawn marion lmao
Zack Weiner combined with dick Barrett lol
Nah, you would want to shoot with one arm like George McGinnis and Michael Adams.
James Wiseman is on the warriors now
Get this coach on Ben Simmons ASAP
Number 1 tip:
Don't miss.
Thanks I will never miss with tip
This tip really helped me a lot, Thank You!
Thanks for getting straight to the point, I love getting just the tip
@@dylanbrown5474 dunno bout the last part but life's too short to beat around the bush. I gotchu
Thanks
Damn now james wiseman has made the league
Yessir
I won't be surprised if this guy starts to miss if he works with Ben Simmons. LOL
exactly y im watching this vid rn lol
Saw this guy shoot in the Irish super league when he was young. Lovely man. The pride of Belfast.
Here we go my man reddish I can't w8 dis opening 2019-20 hawks
RIP Kobe
ray Allen sticks his elbow out?
Drew Ferrell ray Allen is a 2 motion shooter tho so I mean it wouldn’t hurt him much as long as his palm is aligned with the rim
Shawn Marion shoots a damn chest pass.. Everyone has their own unique tweak that is natural for them & I dont think that's a pronlem.. If it works it works.. Long as the release point is at a place where u can get the shot off over a contest.. If it isn't then the shot needs to be quick af
Drew Ferrell he’s talking about sticking his elbow out to the side, not necessarily using it as a hinge point towards the basket
And he uses both hands lol
One Motion shoot is so good for 3 🔥🔥
Holy shit Wiseman 🔥🔥
Dave got mad handles also 🏀 🔥
ey Wiseman's in the NBA now :o
Great video more kids should study his shot technique because hitting the open shot and defense will keep u a job in the NBA ijs💪💯
Ben Simmons should make an appointment with the doctor 👨⚕️
Them old cats got that OG smooth jump shot! Damnnn ☔️☔️☔️
If Dave Hopla can make contested shots he needs to be a player in the NBA😱
We need this guy on the Lakers
2003 eastern invitational basketball camp at Seton Hall Dave Hopla gave a shooting clinic for the 1st 20 mins he gave a lecture on shooting.... while shooting and the only shot he missed was from half court and they were all net .... I am a witness!!
My god...that perfect rotation on the ball.
Kobe=Discipline
He needs work with Zion more. Definitely needs to work with Westbrook, Simmons, & Roberson lol
3:55 lol nice complement tho
Yo Dave hoppla actually lives in my town he lives in boothbay harbor Maine he once had a camp in our ymca and he was cash that so cool
That’s crazy I was at MVP camp and he gave us a lecture
“Did you get that on film”?😂
HOOPLA!
He came to my camp and I spoke to him. He gave me a lot of advice
Like?
Lol Simmons at home watching dem videos like we 15 year olds and he’s in he NBA 😂😂😂
Coach is a Genius
I met this guy at a camp 10 years ago in high school. He's legit. I'd put my money on him in a game of horse vs anybody in the NBA. He can't net it from anywhere
00:01 idk why but this is so badass hahaha
everytime I shoot in the corner I always tell myself
“What if the pass the ring🤔🤔??”
now james wiseman is in the nba
Great, now I can shoot as good as an nba player
Boss shit right here, talks is and walks it
I was at this dudes camp and he made like a 100 free throws in a row
When you gone work with Ben Simmons
Maybe when his ego stops getting in the way of his career. The man even rejected Kobe’s help. Can’t do much about that 🤷♂️
um simmons you should give him a call
I met him at his camp and he said I would be great
Lxcture Wavrain Same he said I was the next Kobe
The Zohan nice hope you do but greater 😃 😃
I think he says that to everyone he works with, except Ben Simmons.
I met this guy and bro its crazy how good he shoots I just thought he was a good shooter that's old not famous or anything this is crazy
He shot looks so pretty. Perfect rotation
Ray Allen's shot is so hard to replicate. You gotta jump so high and shoot so high
It’s because whenever he would be in catch and shoot situations, once he’d get the ball, he’d set his feet and then shoot. Probably still is hard to replicate either way,
Not to mention his ball path. He scoops down them lifts the ball back up. Clean motion every time
@@gfuelsoccermom5307 you'd need a lot of power
**Ben Simmons has entered the chat.
We need this guy on the Lakers.
Ive met him lol
wow man mad respect i love basketball i cant wait to get better
Time to work on my shot now. I play like Draymond, a two-way playmaker, but my j is off past 15 feet. I hope to ‘evolve’ from Draymond to my favorite player Pippen
They actually talk about zion
Ray Allen has his elbow out far
Gurth Lorenzo are you really judging the shot of one of the best shooters in nba history🤦🏻♂️
Blasted He ain’t judging it he’s just saying that it doesn’t really go with what the video was trying to say
Yea but I mean it’s Kobe and you don’t change a shot that works
I meant ray Allen
Jack12today you must be a moron, or a kid, or both
So the number one tip is to keep the elbow under the ball. There you go the rest of the clip is pretty much just explaining who the guy is in case you missed it from the thumbnail
Aye I went to his camp for one day
Get this guy up against lethal shooter
Video just made me want to go to the gym and shoot
It doesn’t matter how you shoot as long as it goes in. The shooting coach has a low set point, Ray Allen’s elbow flares out, Reggie Miller’s arms cross, Larry Bird shoots from behind his head. Obviously teaching basic fundamentals and “proper” shooting techniques allows for more repetitions of the same shot to be repeated over and over at a higher rate which is what the great shooters do, shoot the same shot every time
MXP thank you that’s the same thing Gilbert arenas said out of all of the greatest shooters none of their shots were the same it’s about repetition honestly fundamentals definitely help though but like Gil said if it aint broke don’t fix it
Just watch the video man
I agree to a certain degree. Practice and repetition IS the way to improve, because muscle memory. But the thing is, I'd rather teach a young player to shoot closer to MJ's or Kobe's form rather than, for example, Lonzo Ball. Not because it looks good, but common sense, if your shooting arm is straight, the ball is most like to go straight where your arm is aligned to.
Assburgers Yes that’s what I’m trying to say. You wanna show kids proper techniques and form but from their the kid makes their own shot that they feel comfortable with. No shot is exactly the same. Repetition is important but it’s gotta be makes not misses. Anyone can go out and shoot 1000 misses a day but 1000 makes is totally different and will actually make your shot better.
@@mxp6725 imagine trying to tell the shooting dr hes wrong lmao
Simmons and Fultz need this guy ASAP!
0:37 is that Mark Zuckerberg
It’s crazy some of the high school guys are nba players now
Dave is the only old head I want on my pickup team.
