- In this video we will show you how to unlock Bluetooth features on compatible sizes of the Samsung MU6290 to provide the same features as the more expensive MU6300.
Note that changing the Service Menu may invalidate your warranty or cause irreparable damage, so if you follow this guide then make sure to only adjust the settings shown.

Note: If the BT ADDRESS field still shows "Not Support" after enabling BT Support, unfortunately, your specific variant lacks the Bluetooth chipset.

Thank you for making this video! You saved my 93 year old grandpa from having to buy a new tv. We tried 2 different Bluetooth transmitters that didn’t work and I watched a bunch of other videos on how to connect Bluetooth headphones to his Samsung mu6290. This is the only one that worked for us. Thank you!
took quite some time but finally got it to work. Did the Info => Settings => Mute => Power then powered off, waited a minute and followed the directions very slowly mute 182 power

Received a new Samsung 7100 4k tv from Verizon. Our bluetooth head phones/buds connected the first day than dropped off two weeks later. Followed your instructions and found two of the four settings were not set. Turned both on, and reset. When we entered settings/sound the headphones came right up. Bam! Thank you again.

Get into service menu:
Turn TV on to any terrestrial channel, then:
Switch OFF
Wait about 10-15 sec.
and press:
1. Info
2. Settings
3. Mute
4. Switch ON

Followed your instructions and eventually got into the service mode. Made the necessary changes per your direction. It took several failed attempts to get the bluetooth feature to pair with my earbuds until I finally succeeded. Now my new Tozo NC-2’s have even more functionality.

Thank you for a well made video with well-explained instructions. Your remote button sequence Mute-1-8-2-Power did indeed work to gain access to the service menu with my Samsung UN46H5203 bought from Costco US in 2014. But after switching on BT Support in MRT Options, and BT Audio in the Engineer Option menu, there was no Bluetooth because as you clarified, there must be no Bluetooth hardware in this model as indicated by BT Address saying "Not support".
If you have BN59-012 series remote, try this to go to service menu Info => Settings => Mute => Power.
I really had a hard time to find out this but you don't if it works for you.

yes, I have a BN59-012 series smart remote, and I used the regular tv remote to do the sequence and it turns the tv on when I am done pushing the sequence buttons, but no service menu pops up...if I ever get the service menu does pop up, do I then hold the 2 buttons on the smart remote to pair, or what do I do once the menu pops up?
mine is 01268D when you press those button sequentially it should pop-up after showing Samsung logo. Make sure your tv is in power mode

I just did this on my 75 inch and at first it didn’t work but after a couple of days I went back to double check the settings were updated I realized some changes didn’t save. I made the changes again and boom! It’s now working. Paired some audio technica headphones, beats and a jbl Bluetooth speaker! Pretty awesome to get a free upgrade on model un75mu6290. Thanks for the video!
jelmeromero that happened because yours tv firmware updated automatically. In every update you have to check if the values changed in the secret menu.

Thank you again. Turn off my tv, waited 5 minutes, turned it back on with Mute, 182, Power. The Samsung logo appeared and I got the service menu. Changed settings you recommended, turned off tv and back on. New sound settings were there and connected to Bluetooth.
I have 65" mu6290 (they were sold out of the mu6300 so I settled glad I did now) this video worked great and saved me $300 from the mu6300. Now I will spend 50 for the smart remote. This guy is great, thanks so much!!

SUGGEST YOU TURN YOUR TV OFF AND WAIT AT LEAST 30 SECONDS, MAYBE EVEN A MINUTE BEFORE PUTTING IN THE CODE😊😊😊

I had this tv for a year now and im just now hearing about this. So i tried it and i am pleased to say "it did work" i have a 40" samsung and it worked! Just follow the steps exactly and it should work for u too.

I had an issue with my TV where I couldn't navigate my menu to factory reset my TV and literally every other video I watched had a different remote and the service mode code did not work for me. Wow this worked for my UN55MU6290 SAMSUNG TV. I did exactly what was said(except reset my tv to factory settings) and I now have the bluetooth option. Havent tried my bluetooth headphones yet (not charged) but the tv picked up other electronics around my home. I'm happy. Thank you.

Suggestion - before changing the discussed values, check for the BT ADDRESS setting, per the pinned note. I missed that note and wasted time because my TV apparently does not have the Bluetooth chipset. :( I have a Samsung UN55MU6290FXZA, Version FC10, Mfg December 2017. The BT ADDRESS value was just below the BT SUPPORT value. Otherwise, the instructions in video were spot on. :)

@@jeffrokraus5483 this is old video but thought I would give my tv info. I did have success Exocet for the olfactory I’m trying to get my AirPods to connect or sync with my tv. So far no success in that but following everything else out the Bluetooth option in my tv at least.

Was wondering why Bluetooth keyboard was not available when I was in the keyboard menu.I had Bluetooth but only for speakers, I was so pissed to learn in some reviews that the 6 series had it while the 7 not...so no BT keyboard for my NEWER UN50RU7100FXZC but available on the OLDER UN50R6900FXZC . Your tutorial saved me the hassle to bring it back to Bestbuy!!!!Worked 100% on my UN50RU7100FXZC, I could pair my Fosmon BT keyboard in 5 seconds.Finally I could type in the search of the tv browser without relying on the PITA 1 key at a time tv remote!Thumb up !!

Terrific video. I did get Bluetooth to show up by following your careful directions. However, my bluetooth Apple Earbuds do not show up as hoped. Is there something else I need to do to pair my Apple Earbuds?
Doesn't work on 43" NU6900. Service Menu changes made in MRT option and Engineering. The Blue tooth speaker option appears in Sound Menu but then TV searches but is unable to detect the Bluetooth speaker/s. Observed that BT address stays as 'Not Supported' even after putting BT Support 'On". Any insights will be appreciated as why that might be happening. Additionally, TVs default menu gives option to add bluetooth keyboard and mouse but even they are not pairing with any existing microsoft bt keybd/ mouse.
I paused the video, and the Rtings.com gentleman has 'Not Support' also, after he changes the settings. So I think that's normal. Nothing to change there. For him, Bluetooth finds items to pair. For me, no. I also have the same issue as you. My info is: un55mu6290fxza, Series 6, Version No. CA07

I've samsung UA55MU7000RXUM a 55" UHDTV 4K. I followed all the procedures though I had to use INFO + SETTINGS + MUTE + POWER BUTTON to enable bluetooth as guided by this video. But, sadly, it doesnt show up any bluetooth devices when scanned :(

It's a un55mu6290fxza, Series 6, Version No. CA07 -- I can scan for Bluetooth devices, but it never sees any. And I've tried with 4 different Bluetooth headphones.
I have a 40” and it worked beautifully! Have my HW M450 Samsung Sound Bar hooked up with no cables! Even ended up with sound mirroring that allowed the sound bar to play while the optical cable to my streaming device for hearing aids played as well. I am a happy camper! Was nervous about messing up the TV but decided to take the risk.
I have the 6290 40" and I got everything to go OK on the service menu but its un able to pick up any Bluetooth from my headphones. Anyone else experiencing similar?

I too tried with the model you mentioned. Key combination is slightly different. Press info--settings--mute--power. Then follow the same menus as in the video.

Yep, that's probably the problem, and seems to imply that there is no actual bluetooth device in that model. If you watch closely in the video, before he turns on the bluetooth option "BT ADDRESS" says "NOT SUPPORT", but when he changes "BT SUPPORT" to "yes" a MAC appears in "BT ADDRESS". If yours doesn't do that (just like mine), then it's not going to work

IT DOESN'T WORK - Although I can now see the Speaker list on the the settings of my samsung tv, when selecting this option, it keeps on searching and does not find my brand new Sony Bluetooth headphones. IT DOESN'T WORK

I was able to change the BT SUPPORT ON, but the setting BT ADDRESS continues to be "Not support", unlike it changes [from blank] to "54:BD:79:20:7A:2B" in your case, Daniel. In other words, it appears that my TV (49"" MU6290) does not have have hardware support for BT, even though the software support may be standard (for all Smart Samsung TVs). I think this has been pointed out in another comment below! Thanks all the same, Daniel!

This does not work with the 40 inch size. The bluetooth menus display but there must not be an antenna. Tried with several different bluetooth devices
Nor mine. If you notice in the video, as soon as he enabled bluetooth support, a BT address appeared in the menu. On mine, it did not. I think this is an indication that the BT module is not present. Bummer.
In the comments under one video someone claims it worked with the 40" size. But he says it only worked if he turned the TV off "for a minute before entering the code."
You've got a couple of extraneous characters at the end of the URL. That comment refers to getting to the service menu. I haven't had any problem getting to the service menu. I just never see a BT address when I enable support. This suggests to me that the BT hardware is absent in my model.
It might depend on which version of the 40" you have. Below there's a comment from some one with a 40" version who claims it works. Also a comment claiming it works on 40" model on this page:

Your so cool my dude. Worked for me. Thou I didn’t get to connect the headphones yet but your process really works and I tailored it myself by only turning Bluetooth options on and not the voice control because I don’t want it.
This worked like a charm on my 2017 UN55MU6290FXZA Series 6 55" 4k (manufacturers part number un50nu7100fxza), purchased over black Friday from Walmart. I'm watching Netflix on my bluetooth headphones!

I have enable Bluetooth but I see the Bluetooth option under settings -> sound -> sound output.
Here I only see -> Tv speaker & audio out/optical & Bluetooth speaker list but I am unable to connect to my detect and pair my Bluetooth headset (beats studio wireless and jay bird x)
But I am able to enable “HDR+” settings though

Crap, didn't work for me. I enabled all menu options per the video but TV cannot find my bluetooth speaker.
Greg Patino might be a silly question but did you put your speaker in pairing mode?
Yes, I tried several times to pair the speaker. The speaker itself may be the issue, other devices recognize the MU6290s bluetooth signal so it must be transmitting?
Greg Patino yup if other devices recognise, it's the speaker that may be the issue. Is the speaker already paired with another device?

Not working on the 40" I just bought... Rather thought it should. Does show Bluetooth options on menu but does nor see any Bluetooth devices trying to pair with it

Thanks for this info, I have UN40MU6290F that originally did not show blue tooth option, Following the instructions in this video, I was able to enable Bluetooth and connect to by Bluetooth devices. Great help
Samsung screwed up on this one. I had bought this TV on Black Friday and returned it because it didn’t have Bluetooth for headphones. Couple of TV’s later I ended up with a Sony 65x900e open box for $1000. Had it just activated these features by default I wouldn’t have returned it. Good job Samsung.
Radha K. Ugo not really, this is a normal practice. You could have just exchanged it for a MU6300 instead of spending $1000 on a 900e lol. Although the 900e is a great TV
Gewdvibes Compared to the 6290 the 900e is way better. Given that a 65" 6300 is almost the same price I say I got a really good deal.

Walmart had some kind of pricing issue on the 40 inch and I got it brand new for $180.
