In the future my dream is to buy a farm out in homestead! I love how all your fruit trees always produce so much faster and abundant than us up north, but regardless I love driving to Miami and eating all the fruits. I was in Kendall area visiting my cousins last week I ate so many pounds of lychee 💚
Thank you so much. I learned a lot from your teaching. I was such a dummy, I thought the brown flowers was a dead flowering.🤦♀️ I went and removed them from my sugar apple tree.😭😭😭
Hi Johnny! Thanks for your comment on my garden you need to visit it one day. Yes I have some small sugar apple plants and cherimoya and soursop available.
I bought three sugar apple trees. Two tress leaves are stiff than other one tree's leaves, which. I know is sugar apple. Do sugar apple have stiff leaves ?
Have you made a video detailing the hand-pollination process? I have to pollinate my Pitaya and Passionfruit, but those flowers are much larger and the pollen is much easier to access. I just found out that I have to pollinate my Sugar Apple & Soursop, but not having any success at collecting pollen, most likely due to lack of knowledge & experience. If you have made a video on this, or know of a good one, a link would be very much appreciated. (I am in Bradenton as well)
I would let the sugar apple grow wild for its first few years before you start majorly pruning branches off. At the end of the sugar apple season you may prune selected limbs and branches to strengthen the caliber of the trunk to make it more thick and bear bigger sugar apples.
Leaves drop is normal, it’s to make room for new growth. Sugar apple is also deciduous in Florida and in California meaning they will drop their leaves when the cold weather come (December) and regrow leaves in early March / early spring time.
I do, but this year I am letting my trees grow more vegetatively. So if some do grow it will be because of it naturally set. Although I am hand pollinating my cherilata tree bud my sugar apples I am letting grow as well as my Atemoya. Also with custard apple I will be hand pollinating.
@@gardenflorida that’s awesome! How much do you sell it for? I’m in no hurry. Asa it arrived healthy. I’m leaving to Mexico for 1 week so it’s perfect timing.

So once you pollinate the female flower . Does the female flower still turn into a male flower when fully open and can I still collect pollen from it?

How do you pollinate the flowers?
If we hand pollinate it, do I need to do it every female flower?
Good info. Is there a specific season/size/age that is best to prune the sugar apple?

What if you crossed a Gaffener Atemoya and a Green Sugar Apple?
I believe it will result in a atemoya that resembles more of a sugar apple.
