    I bought a sugar apple at a Asian grocery, first time I tried it. I thought it was quite delicious and exciting to eat.
    Can't wait to plant the seeds.

      You're very welcome! It's definitely possible to grow sugar apples from seeds in containers! Although it's the most frost tolerate of the Annonas, it would need winter protection. But it's a hardy tree through the year and hot summer!

    Can they stay in containers forever? I want it in container but I don’t want to keep repotting. Do I need to prune roots to keep in containers? For example the max size will be 10 gallons.

    What kind of fertilizer did you use during flowering?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  Год назад +1

      I use 'bloom boosting' or high phosphorus granular fertilizer. I gave the seedlings about 1.5 tablespoons every 5-6 weeks.

    Hello Shamrockgirl, nice video! now we are in September and my tree is full of baby cherimoyas and at the same time, the whole tree is full of new branches and leaves. Do you recommend it gets a trim so nutrients will go more into the fruits, instead of the branches/leaves? If yes, how much do you trim? thank you!

    What is the specific asian fruit market in Houston that sells custard apples ?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  3 месяца назад

      It's called Linda's Tropical Fruits on Bellaire Blvd in Houston.
      They only sell fruits in their store and don't offer shipping. If you see something that says they do, they're scammers!

    Where can we find custard apples in Dallas, Texas ?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  3 месяца назад

      Asian Markets will likely carry Sugar Apples, such as 99 Ranch, H Mart, and Hong Kong Market.
      Central Market and HEBs have been carrying Cherimoyas and Soursops, but not Sugar Apples.

    I have seeds that I am anxious to plant but we are coing up on winter. How do I save these seeds until our (Texas) winter is over? I have other tropical seed planting questions also. I just need direction.

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  3 месяца назад +1

      You can dry the seeds and store them in an airtight container. The seed's viability may lower, but you can sprout them later.
      The seedlings can also be grown indoors in a sunny location or a small greenhouse. They're the best Annonas to grow!

    Thank you for this thorough and informative video. A friend from Costa Rica just gave me Atis (what we call it in the Philippines) seeds from the fruit she just ate. I'm looking forward to growing them. I live in South Florida. I've never grown anything from seed. How tall do they get?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much!
      Since you're in Florida, where they'll flourish, they might grow at least 10 feet tall. You can definitely grow them from seeds and in the ground. Many Annona fruits grow very well in south Florida, for what I hear.
      I'll say that growing them from seed is faster compared to other tropical fruit trellis. They still may not grow from seeds but they're reliable. My first sugar apple from seed produced one fruit at three years old! That's still impressive!

    hi i have sugar apple seedling but leaves turning black and fall 😢 why?

    • @shamrockgirl804
      @shamrockgirl804  8 месяцев назад

      At the time of those comment, my seedlings were dropping their old leaves when their winter greenhouse was getting warmer and receiving more sunlight. Sugar Apples may shed and replace their leaves in the spring.
      As long as it grows new leaves, it's a normal occurrence. It's shocking, but they'll make new leaves and even new flowers!
